A ruddy faced Guǎn​ Huáng allows the envoy amongst his ranks and allows the man to be guided to his personal tent. Confronted by the messenger of his opponent, Guǎn​ Huáng was silent as he sat upon a overturned barrel. His gruff features set in a scowl as he gazed upon the man and motioned for him to speak.

The envoy did not show any signs of fear as he was ushered through the camp, but deep down he knew that the chances of him dying here were very high, especially considering the message he was ordered to give. When he was face to face with the monster Guan Huang, he fidgeted a little, taking a deep gulp, and said

"Guan Huang, the Lord Ma Su has sent me here in order to ask that you abandon this attack on Dingtao. Lord Hin Wu has already dispatched an army around five times your size and will surely crush your army if you advance further. Ma Su offers you only two options: surrender yourself to him, or be destroyed in combat."

Yeah, the envoy knew he was toast.

Guǎn​ Huáng​ was many things and truly he was a man that could of been easily stereotyped. He was loud, obnoxious, brash, violent, and at times more than bull headed. Yet, he was hardly a fool who would take another man's words and punish the messenger.. unless the messenger provided reason for insult. "That so?" Guǎn​ Huáng​ questioned as that grin continued to spread across his face. "And, this Lord Hin Wu thinks he can test the might of the Axe Gang? So what if he outnumbers us.. The real difference in this battle won't be numbers. It will be the men." Guǎn​ Huáng​ replied in that rolling thunderstorm of a voice. Yet, motioning for his officers to come closer, he kept his gaze upon the envoy.

"Your lord apparently ain't seen desperate men. He ain't seen just how violent and dangerous a true killer might be. Boy, what is your name?" Guǎn​ Huáng​ questioned as his eyes set upon him. If he replied, Guǎn​ Huáng​ quickly continued. Using the man's own name to address him, "When ya mix hunger and a passion for battle, lad. Ya ask for trouble. Tell your lord that the Axe Gang may be whipped. Hell, you might even kill us down to the last man. But, we'll bleed his men. We'll bleed those damn walls and take as many as down as we can." he commented in a rumbling chuckle of a voice. "If anything, tell your lord he'd be a damn fool." Guǎn​ Huáng​ hissed.

"I may not be one for reading those snake squiggles ya call written, but, I can think." the bandit commented as he tapped the side of his skull. "That limp dicked politician which married my daughter tried getting me in on that invasion of his. He tried getting me to help him.. But, nah. I'm not a idiot. I realized your army would be busy and I could attack this damn city. And if I get inside those walls? Those streets will run red with the blood. My men will rape, steal, and pillage everything they could get their hands on. We'd make ten times what we could than workin' for him. Now, listen to me, boy. Tell your lord to send Lord Hin Wu away. Tell him not to be a fool and send this Lord Hin to aid him at Chen Liu. Because we ain't runnin' boy and we ain't surrendering."

"Tell ya lord he has to choose. He has to pick between that pretty treasure chest that is Chen Liu or this little piglet called... &*$&. Chu, what is this place called again?" Guǎn​ Huáng​ questioned only for Tie Chu to provide the name. "Dingtao, yeah. Tell him the Axe Gang ain't leaving and we'll be here to fight him. He wants to see us on our knees? Well, he better get ready to cut off our legs to see it. But, if he fights us here? Well.. I'd dare say Chen Liu is gonna be a pretty little roast by the end of the month. Far before Hin Wu's men could get there and provide aid." Guǎn​ Huáng​ cooed with a smirk.

The envoy felt like he was shrinking as the Monster of Changsha spoke, his mere size intimidating the poor envoy. When he was asked his name, the envoy replied sheepishly

"Pu Gong, sir."

Pu Gong listened, his eyes growing wide with fright, as he listened to this man. Hin Wu's army would have to face an army of suicide fighters, that much was certain. Pu Gong made a mental note to hide behind the walls once the battle started.

Once Guan Huang finished, Pu Gong nodded repeatedly, and said "Yes, of course, I'll tell them to go away immediately. Right. Best of luck sir."

Pu Gong would then scurry off if allowed, and run back to the lines, telling them Guan Huang would not surrender, and would immediately thereafter run home to his mama.

Battle of Shangqiu, August 206 BC

Having rallied his band of merry men ruthless bandits, Guan Huang marched rather suddenly on Ma Su's city of Dingtao. Unfortunately for him, that meant that he happened to pass by Hin Wu's city of Suiyang. Expecting the Dark Knight bloodthirsty monster was up to no good, the Administrator of Suiyang, Taishi Chou, marshaled up his men (which included the doctor, Lengbao Zibo) and marched on the numerically inferior force. They met outside the town of Shangqiu, the former capital of the second Chinese dynasty, the Shang, as well as the minor state of Song (whose rulers were descendants of that former dynasty, having been deposed by the Zhou and given some land about their former capital as compensation). While the battle was fierce, with some five thousand men dying in the fields outside of Shangqiu, ultimately, few would come to remember the battle where the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Axe Gang was defeated. Especially since every single Axe Gang officer managed to escape to live another day. And what did Hin Wu manage to gather for his victory? A glorious fifty-four pi spears and war fatigue for some of his soldiers.
