Pan Shaozu's mind had been tossed around with the twists and turns this whole ordeal had taken, his feeble intellect could hardly keep up... Besides scaring some soldiers and killing some folks, he had done nothing really. Stood guard, followed orders... All in all, 208 pieces of gold was good pay for what he did, and he was a happy man. He didn't care what or who was still a mystery about Baideng. Most likely the events that took place here would pale in comparison to what lay ahead...

He took his money, and left saying nothing to nobody... though he nodded to Wei, his fellow comrade in Wu, when he saw him...

Pan Shaozu takes the gold, and trades in the soldiers for gold as well... 208g total!

Ning Chu, having apparently spent far too much time inside his command tent preparing for a battle that would never come, was realitively suprised that for some reason everything was over. He was being rewarded with 148 peices of gold and a small wing of troops with spears.

He was mainly left standing around asking what the hell had happened but could never seem to peice together a good answer, so eventually he just round up his new people and set off for home in Zhao.

Takes 148 gold and the 400 (50) troops with 400 spears

Lin Yue was sitting around, keeping track of the troops, when she heard that she was no longer needed, so she packed up her belongings, took the gold, and left on her horse.

Yang Yu stood on the gate of the town, his pack tied to the horse saddle that he was sitting on. He turned his head to look back at Baideng, and could not help but frown. After hearing the full story out of Liao Teng, he could not help but feel that he was used as a pawn in this plot, and Yang Yu does not enjoy being used as a pawn. He had came answering the call for the chance of glory, for the chance to make his name known. He had imagined standing in front of the bandit leader, defeated and head low on Yu's feet. Instead, he was duped like he was never duped before, and was pulled into something that had in it no glory whatsoever.

Clicking his tongue in frustration Yu returned his gaze forward, and started his journey back to Jiaodong. What a waste...

[Yang Yu takes the gold in both accounts! +208 Gold. Thanks a lot Phailak! It was fun~ :D]

Wei walked across the field with his belonging. On one hand, he held a bag of gold, the spoil of the battle. In his head, he still kept thinking about this incident. Noticing Pan Shaozu nodding at him, he nodded back in return before continuing his trail.

Something was not right about this, Wei thought. He got the gold, but did he deserve it? Thousands of Baideng townspeople had been killed from the attack of "Baideng heroes". Did he have any merit to claim the reward out of this incident? Of course, Wei knew that it was not entirely his fault to attack and kill innocent people, but was it okay for him to take this gold and walked away as if nothing had happened?

Growing up in the time under Qin and seeing its downfall, Wei was aware that there was no such thing like righteousness in this war-torn era. Everyone must struggle to survive this cruel world. Wei would not be surprised if tomorrow he became a bandit himself and killed other people if that made him survive.

However, this incident was different, as he had come here with the intention to help people of Baideng. However, he ended up killing a lot of them. At the very least, he could not betray his original intention, forget the mistake, take this gold with him, and leave happily with all the mess he had done behind. Too him, that was even worse than being the bandit. Was he a stupid man? Maybe. Was he a man without integrity? Not quite.

Making up his mind, Wei went back to the house of the boy who rescued him and Ding Yi from the crowd. He thanked the boy again before handing the bag of gold to him.

"Spread this gold to all the townspeople. Again, sorry for all the bad things we had done to you. We did not really mean to do it."

Wei then bid farewell to the boy and his mother before mounting his horse and leaving the town. No merit done. No reward gained. That was fair enough, at least to him.

(Shangguan Wei took the 208 gold but gave them back to the people of Baideng as an apology for attacking them unknowingly.)

(EDIT: Thank you very much for this fun quest, Phai Lak :D!)

Zheng Nu is still completely confused at what is going on but he does not put to much interest in why all of this happened. He has some health and some unexpected spoils. Not having any real interest in people here a quickly sneaks out with his captured soldiers and gold and other spoils and returns home.

Zheng Nu takes the 148 gold with the 400 (50) troops and 400 spears!

A wave of relief passed through Ding Yi at the sight of Liao Teng; although bloodied, his wife and son would be happy to see that he was alive at least. She shuddered at the thought that the mastermind Revenge was actually one among the heroes. She could only bear to take a fleeting glance at Jue's corpse before turning away. Despite Liao Teng's account, there were still so many questions left unanswered, she thought to herself.

After saying her farewells to the other generals, she departed for the campsite to gather her belongings, not feeling particularly accomplished by the outcome but also had no regrets.

((Taking 148+60 = 208 gold. Good job with this quest, Phailak. I demand a sequel! :p))
