The barbarian comes to the guards outside the city's offices

General Yuan Shu sent for me. I will speak with him. He says your lands could use a man of skills.

The guardsman acknowledges with a polite nod, and instructs his companion to do the customary search of which you have no doubt come to expect. Any weapons or malicious items are removed.

The guardsman's companion admired the spear, noticing its fine craft and so tested the weight in his hand. Nodding with approval, he catches glimpse of his superior and immediately snaps to attention, continuing the routine.

"Ah, yes, you'll get these back once your audience with General Yuan Shu has finished. Please follow me, sire."

You are lead into a terraced estate, through some hallways until finally you reach a side door in one of the corridors of the west wing. The guardsman taps on the door and then ushers you inside.

"Greetings, please, take a seat... I assume our meeting was due to the letter I sent you."

Yuan Shu strokes his chin thoughtfully.

"Hmm, yes, so Chuluun, you must have questions?"

The barbarian took his seat and looked to the man.

I have travelled this land and had many lords offer and rescind offers of greatness. I want a land where I can make riches, battle, and hammer iron and bronze. Preferably where the lord is not crazy in the head. Would I have that here?

Yuan Shus eyes brighten, and he listens intently to Chuluuns words.

"Indeed, our soldiers have known only battle and the spoils of war. Since November, our armies have marched upon city after city to expand our great kingdom. Needless to say, should you seek recruitment into our vanguard you will see your fair share of battle and riches." pausing for a moment, Yuan looks over the warrior and assesses his strengths. "Our army is always in need of equipment and so your skills will be most valuable, you could not have come at a better time." Yuan flashes a smile "I believe you would best suited as a Melee Commander or as perhaps a duelist, to fend off any of those who would call to Challenge. I'm sure you agree, each title knows only the fight."

Adjusting his silk robe, Yuan continues.

"Does this interest you, Chuluun?"

The barbarian smiled. Finally, a sane leader after seeing the craziness of these southern lands.

Yuan Shu is impressed by Chulunns confidence and it pleased him to see such a fine warrior within the ranks of the growing army.

"Good, I will inform Prefect Liu Jin at once, I am sure he will wish to speak with you in due time, please make yourself comfortable. Someone will escort you your new residency when your business is done here."

Walking through the wet, muddy streets of Shou Yang, a warrior entirely enclosed in a heavy, brown cloak approached the audience chamber of Liu Jin. On either side of his waist were two deadly, exotic looking blades attached to a thick leather belt. His hood draped over his forehead, covering his eyes in shadow and leaving all of his features above his nose to the imagination.

As he came upon the guards, he halted his movements, save for one arm that reached out, offering a bamboo scroll. "Please inform Yuan Shu that Master Shi is here for an audience with Liu Jin", the man spoke quietly, not revealing any expression to the facial features visable to the guards.

A guard at the estates entrance noticed the figure approaching and nudged the other who squinted into the gloom in an attempt to identify the stranger. As the hooded person neared their position, the guards tensed. Once the cloaked man produced the scroll and informed them on his invitation by the Lieutenant General, they acted accordingly.

"Ah, very well sire, I believe everything is in order. Would you please follow me, once those *The guard points* are removed from your belt. It's procedure, I'm sure you understand."

Assuming you agree to the removal of your weapons, you follow the guard into the estate. Your weapons are returned once your audience has finished with Liu Jin.

In the kingdom planning room, Liu Jin was informed of a new visitor and hurried to the audience hall.

After making sure that tea and some titbits were served, Jin turned to the guest.

"Good day master, how may I be of asssitance to you?"

Pulling his hood back, the young warrior placed his open hand on his chest and nodded his head in regard to Liu Jin. When posed the question, the man raised his eyebrow, but his features otherwise remained stoic. "I was to ask you that exact quest, Liu Jin. One of your vassals, a Yuan Shu, beckoned me here to inquire into joining your ranks. So I guess, the question remains, how can I be of assisstance to you?"
