I think as we move towards end of this, like when players start taking the cities, we can start thinking of a sister sim. By then, like I said the tools should be self-reliant. I'll be spending all my time on dev'ing next version, something like I did here, 6-8 weeks of coding and testing.

If you really want to use the tools here, basically all you need is to find different names for stats and skills, map and locations. The rest would have to stay the same down to the tactics and what they do. Anything more than that would require a coder right...

I'm also willing to let folks use the hosting service here but someone will need to pay for the domain name, something like 15$ or you could just use a subdomain like simwarlords.net/Ninjas or wtv lol

Is it php you are using? I've dabbled in coding but not used php but thanks to youtube and lynda coding is easy enough to pick up the basics at home.

I'd definitely be interested in helping to run a sengoku game.

And I'm happy to support warlords and/or sengoku monetarily.

Yeah, so PHP for the coding and mysql for the database that PHPBB runs out of. I guess you can throw in a lil html and java

There were a few iterations of Simwotd since the last warlords ended. Also stuff like RTKO. That and Simrtk is doing a beta or something now. Don't know if it's really moved forward at all, though. Been pretty stagnant for a few years.

SimRTK's recent activity is what prompted me to launch back here, I really hope it gets going for good

My big problem is an utter lack of coding knowledge. I've never dabbled in anything but HTML and that was like...ten years ago, haha.

Regardless, I'd really like to design/organize a sister sim with the Sengoku theme. I think I have enough knowledge, sim experience, and - like I said - about a half-dozen unreleased concepts. The tactic mechanics are fine as they are, and I could easily come up with the rest. I already have a potential map, a starting scenario, etc.

If we get to that point, or if we get to a stage where we want to brainstorm or plan it out, I'd like to get it going. Not to release ASAP, obviously, but to get something set for when the time is right. If the tools are in place, I can manage the storyline and planning. It'd obviously be great to have a coder to adjust code as needed, but if the system is in place already, not vital, as long as I have the ability to adjust the names and numbers as needed over the course of the game.

And I could pay the hosting fee at that point. No big deal.

Just, uh...throwing it out there, I guess? :P

Heroes of Ivalice, it was. I'm a big fan of FFT, so I liked how the sim was developed. I still have a bad taste in my mouth about how my time there turned out, but that's old news. That sim ended forever ago.

RTKO was a bummer, just because of how suddenly and quickly it died out. I think I had some of my favorite simming moments there as a mod. Even worse, it quickly died out while me and a couple of other staff members were coming up with awesome ideas for a new version :(

C'est la vie, or whatever?

Do you guys know of a RTK style show/anime ?

Feel like I need to be watching or reading something to get more immersed and I already read the novel years and years ago.. it was somewhat eh with the writing style imho

The 2010 Three Kingdoms series was quite good, well worth watching. I don't know if torrents of it are around anymore, that's how I watched it years ago; but I see some (at least) is on youtube now, though it may or may not be that easy to find good versions of all the episodes.
