Kingdom Hearts II was amazing. I'm considering playing the first one through again, since I merely rented II. Don't play it on easy, though. It's really too easy. I'm no expert at video games and usually struggle to do well, but I aced though that mode with little problem. Of course, if you are primarily playing for the story, that works. The story is great enough as is.

My brother is bringing home his 360 later tonight, and he has Oblivion, so I'm going to see what it's all about.

I just recently completed my first game of Suikoden V. I think I got through in about 50 hours. However, I rushed through, and by that, I mean, I got like 60 of the 108 stars, heh.

My feelings on the game are unresolved at the moment, since something toward the end made me really mad and I haven't got past that yet. Don't want to ruin it for anyone else, though.

I'd currently place it above 4 but below 3. Getting to name my main character is not so important that I'd prefer it over having one that talks and has a personality.

*comment on Galagros's spoiler and etc.*
Yeah, Belcoot is amazing. I loved using him, but once I got Dinn, I tended to just pair them two up together. The only person I got a max weapon for was my hero. I kinda disliked how a lot of the challenge was lost once you got a certain person...kinda like how in Suikoden 4 things got easy after you got Ted. You probably know who I mean.

And...the Suikoden V version of the special battles, the wars, was way too easy to manipulate. I guess I could have just played honest, but when I did, I couldn't keep up with what was going on. I lost once because I had one of my main units get stuck against an enemy one, who magically was able to stop time (as I cannot) and used a flowing rune on itself. Grumble grumble.

Is it just me, or were the men, in general, extremely woman-starved? Half of the guys you talk to in the game make comments about how someone is hot or something. Nevermind the characters that actually join you (Kyle, Roy, that one mercenary fellow), the fact that half of the no-face townspeople were the same way bugged me.

I think you mean that -she- is overpowered? I never used her unless I had to or the time when you needed multiple groups. In fact I never used any of the three 'main' rune mages unless I had to. I didn't use Dinn a whole lot, unfortunately. It seemed like too much trouble to level your characters up in V, unlike in III. I finished the game with my highest level being 58, but in III I got every single combat character up to at least 63 before I beat the game.

About the battles, I found a good way to not get frustrated by not being able to move across the map. It's kind of long and annoying, but not as bad as trying to fight normally. Whenever you want to get to a unit far away just press select, go to 'view map', move to the unit you want to use, press triangle twice, and the cursor will be where you moved it to. :)

As for all of the 'woman-starvation' and inuendo (there is a lot) I heard that it wasn't in the Japanese version and that the translators added it in. :?

*I don't think this is really a spoiler*

Well, Dinn was one of the better overall attackers, I thought. Plus, he had a natural tendency for the Defense ability. Considering how fast I went through, I never had enough armor, so someone who had Defense was very helpful. That, and Dinn and Belcoot do a combo attack that can hit multiple enemies and doesn't unbalance either. Dinn's special rune ability isn't as terrible as most of them, either. It does either x1.5 or x2 damage, and just puts the Slow condition on him, which isn't really that big of a deal...just makes you go last in each round.

I used Viki an awful lot. But in every Suikoden, I end up using Viki a lot. Mostly because she seems to have an affinity for Lightning magic, which is my favorite attack magic. At the final boss, thanks to her Chain Magic A, she was casting twice about half the time. Considering she was my weakest member there (maybe besides Miakis, who just kept dying over and over), it was nice.

As evidence that I rushed through the thing, I ended the game having a Killer Rune and a Thunder Rune sitting in my backpack :/ I was very tempted to put the Double-Edged rune on Georg, so he'd be completely insane, but Georg could barely survive most magic attacks as is, and I didn't want him to be a liability. I had the, um, rune that always lets you counter put on the hero, along with a Shield rune. He always had the highest defensive rating, so he was almost always in front, even though that often meant he was in the wrong slot for his weapon type. No matter, though, since combination attacks don't rely upon your position, and I usually had Miakis or Lyon around.

*Minor Spoilers*

I'm about half way thru the game but I love that Zerease chick. She us just so uber that it makes battles easy. I slapped a Rage rune on her and it was just sick. Sick I tell you.

Belcoot is awesome but Richard is outright disgusting. Nothing harms him and he runs over people like they are speed bumps. I find it amusing that Kyle reminds me of Flick all the way down to their outfit.

I just got Dinn so I haven't used him yet. Right now I am stuck bouncing between Suikoden V, DW 5: Empires, and KH II. All three are just great games. Lots of hours of gaming ahead of me.

Suikoden V has also things i really hate. Things like Dungeons, thats just sad. You ran 1 hour [without FAQ] and end nowhere in the end.And then you have to return back while fighting enemies who are like x2 thougher then you are. You come with many medics, return with none. And encounters happen every 5 secs, so thats really horrible.

[Sorta Spoilers]

Dream team and really cool characters, are
Miakis,Prince,Levi,Kyle,Zerase,Georg
Miakis = great attack, and she dodges good.
Prince = main hero after all =]
Levi = his anti magic + earthquake or that "Empty World" > all
Kyle = acts like healer and fighter.
Zerase = With good magic > all
Georg = simply monster. You dont see him nearly 2/4 from game but once he comes he crushes everyone.

Eon, that's what ESCAPE SCROLLS are for!!!!!

I never once used Vikie. :( I had Belcoot upgraded so much though, he couldn't get hit unless it was by magic. 98% of the time he would get weapon defence and attack them. One time I had Belcoot take out all 6 enemies this way ... in one round.

I still hold to my opinion that Nelis (sp? the girl from island nation) is the most well rounded character. She's a great rune mage and once you upgrade her weapons she'll do almost 300 damage with a normal attack. I had a Flowing Rune, Rage Rune, and Thunder Rune on her. I put a Killer Rune on Belcoot and on the main character. I had a Shield Rune and Mother Earth Rune on Miakis (along with a few items to upgrade her earth abilities.) I had a Rage Rune on my hero. Oh, and a Flowing Rune on Lyon. I don't remember what else was on the people in my final party.

Anyways, aren't the combination magic attacks neat to watch? :)

I used them and bought new ones many times but still.I once got myself like very far away and i had no escape scroll...In that big hole, with Eresh in team. That was just horrible...i had to escape from every battle closer to end.

Still to beat any enemy you just have to use Circle tactic, use its skill and murder enemy.

I didnt like monsters in this game, small amount of them.Plus they are odd for example "hair Ball" or "Killer Bunny" or something. That sucked...

The "odd" monsters are standars in the Suikoden series. From Suikoden 1 you fought the DoReMi elves, Killer Bunnies, Flying Squirrels, those plant things that eat you and spit out yout etc. That is why they are still there. I'll admit that the killer bunnies make me laugh. Supposedly cute animals brandishing ugly, vicious looking weapons.
