Pan Dao nodded immediately, “Of course I will make a full report to the King. He is, at present, involved in a rather extended consultation. Though, of course, if you wish to remain in Chen and come again…?”
"Well, if he is busy, I do need to get back to Liang, for there is much work to be done. I hope it would not be disrespectful to leave before meeting with the King, would it?"

Liu Kang wrote:Kang bowed in an attempt to earn the mans respect, "You may have recently heard of our war efforts north in Yan, though it should not bother this kingdom we hope to open our arms to you and your people and you to us, in a decleration we ask for peace, though we may seem petty and worthless at the moment, we are carving our kingdom and preparing to bring Yan back to its once peaceful state. Though it may not seem worth a bother at the moment, it would grant a mutual respect between the two, we ask for nothing in return but to be recognised and to raise an alliance between our two factions..." Kang immediatly stated, even though before coming his uncle had told him to work on it more slowly and point each fact out more clearly...

((YES that is indeed my excuse to keep things short :P))
Pan Dao's eyes widened when the visitor mentioned that he was from Yan, it was far to travel. Yet he'd not heard of any King in Yan - he'd thought the Qin still had influence there. And, he thought, he'd have heard if a King had declared himself in Yan - certainly this news would have reached Zhao and bent sent to the King in Chen immediately.

After Kang finished speaking Pan Dao said, "I was not aware of a King in Yan - or indeed any power threatening the Qin magistrates there. Tell me of your kingdom please."

"Though we are still a group of towns and villages we have always considered ourself a kingdom, for we do not look at our lands, we look at our intentions. Our intentions are to release Yan from Corruption, and maybe soon after the rest of the North, as i have see you are doing here in Handan. Many look down on us because of the situation we are in but i can gaurantee that we will rise as we will eventually take Ji and become an established Kingdom. The Qin magistrates in Yan are corrupt and foolish, though we are against them, we are not against the Qin and hope that you will see our ambitions as worthy..."

Pan Dao's eyes widened as the man told him his purpose. He had, since he'd come to work for Chen She, heard much of how brazen the Qin dogs and their spies were but this was strange indeed. He was unsure what he was expected to do. But it was clear - the visitor claimed to support the Qin. At the very least he should call a guard.

Pan Dao's hands shook and he said, "Oh ... well ... excuse.... one moment..." His heart was pounding as he moved quickly to the doorway and asked for Zhuang Jia to be called to the room.

Looking back at the Liu Kang he said, "Just one minute ... " He was clearly very nervous and the wait was very uncomfortable but short. After a moment a large armed man entered the room. Pan Dao immediatly whispered something which caused the large man's eyes to widen.

The big man crossed the room and, without bowing, said, "I am Zhuang Jia. The secretary, Pan Dao, tells me you support of the Qin?"

"Lu Ying, I am the Marquis of Zhao, not....king.....I am a loyal officer of the King of Chu, Chen Sheng. I tell you now stop uttering those, traitorous thoughts, if you come here to offer me loyalty in my current rank then that seems, good by me."

Still looking intently at the woman he wonders if she will have the good sense to shut up before he was forced to take action to silence her.
Inwardly Lu Ying rolled her eyes, either she had gotten the ranking system these rebels were using wrong or they didnt know themselves what they were doing.

"You mistake my words my lord!" Lu Ying said with a smile. "My men had informed me that Chen She had declared himself emperor of Chu. Now with that information I could only assume he had named you king of Zhao, a rank clearly subserviant to emperor, but suitable to a man of your talants."

Bowing once more she went on "traitorous thoughts or actions are not what I come bearing"

A group of three men wound its way through the city, appearing simultaneously lost and driven. At the center was a man in flowing blue robes, appearing as though he could not be more bored if he tried. The two men flanking him served as his escort, a pair of rag-tag men who wouldn't have served much of a purpose outside of a tavern brawl. That clearly didn't bother the one in the middle. About thirty yards from a guard post near what appeared to be the civil administration building, the robe-clad man ordered the two ruffians to hold their position on the corner, and keep their hands off their weapons.

Approaching the guard post, the man in the blue robe offered a slight bow. He launched immediately into his introduction.

"Greetings! I am Zhou Zheng, Magistrate of Xinzheng. I humbly request an audience with whomever may be spared the time to speak with me."

The guards look to the man and respond.
Magistrate, really? Seems like every day someone is getting a new title around here with that new guy Niu Xiong being promoted by the fat man. I suppose he's the one you are looking to speak with, him running the city and all. If you submit to our search, we can bring you in to his office.

Zhou Zheng offered a slight bow towards the man who had addressed him.

"I will certainly submit to any search required. I would be honored to speak with Niu Xiong."

Zhuang Jia disliked being ignored and he motioned Pan Dao to remain silent. The secretary, who had seen the King's personal bodyguard angry before, did as he was expected.

When Liu finished speaking, Zhuang Jia, unimpressed with his anger said, "Do you mean to say the Qin are virtuous? The Qin who have broken so many men in the kingdom with their walls and battles?"

He didn't wait very long but went on, "Virtue and corruption - what do I know of these things. I know only that you have let slip your admiration for the Qin and that is a dangerous thing to do here!"
