He voices the Emperor.

Or some loony in charge.

And just to be irritating, PC Oblivion > 360 Oblivion!(it's already obsolete to current standards!)

Not quite. My PC from 2001 is still able to handle games of current standards. It's a myth you have to upgrade everytime there is a new product released. (You'd probably have to upgrade every day then)

In the five years, I've only updated once. That's the graphic card in 2004. And that only cost me £50. It wasn't even high-end for it's time. The initial costs versus the long term investment is worth it.

I am going to have to agree with ranbir, buying a console is waste of money and overpriced...You have to buy not only the system, but controls/memory/games (60 and going up) and if you are biased like me no good strategy games on there :D plus console's have a few games going for them just sports series and maybe halo...

comp usually gets all the games that come out on consoles and if you buy a good comp in the beginning and invest in a good video card than comp can last 3-5 yrs...games cheaper too

Consoles typically last 5 years, too (although the last batch of them didn't have the lasting power).

Right now, I'd agree that going with a computer is probably the cheaper way to go. Computers are still very cheap, while consoles are skyrocketing in price. If that stays the way it is, demand will drop, and things will even out, though.

Computers are a bigger price right at once, though. And if you're like me and have no money... :(

Well one budget method, is to buy and build yourself. (Can be easier than it sounds)

Buy a component piece by piece. You can even save up on a few things like using your old monitor, speakers, keyboard etc.

I'm a big fan of the nForce motherboards, on the simple fact they come with a very decent built in sound and graphic driver(original nForce came with a Geforce 2)

That cuts the cost on a sound card and graphic card straight away.

That just leaves a Hard drive, cd/dvd drive (unless you want to reuse these from your old computer, if they're decent enough), casing

And of course, processor (plus heatsinks and additional fans)

component prices tend to fluctuate. I remember back in 2001 RAM prices were so low, they were selling 128mb sticks for tenners. And in 2001, 128mb was pretty decent.

I know it's way cheaper to build, but I'm not experienced enough to do most of that, though I do know some of it. For me, only the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers could be salvaged. The hard drive is tiny and everything else is way outdated. If I had a friend around who would help me and some cash lying around to start out with I'd definately build instead of buy.

I've only ever played 3-4 of those. I feel like I missed out on a lot. :(
