I have been thinking about tactics types of games recently; probably because I've been playing them. For me, Final Fantasy Tactics is far and away my favorite tactics game. I think Shining Force 2 is a very solid second there. After that, though, there are a lot of games that I could consider, but nothing that really takes the cake. Never got into the Atlas tactics games that much, and I like the FE's, but I always tend to quit at the halfway points. Suikoden Tactics is icky. I played FFTA for about 25 hours once, and since then, I haven't been able to stand it. Shining Force 1 is ok, but I played 2 first, and only played 1 maybe 2 years ago.
I am a big fan of Final Fantasy Tactics. I also like Fire Emblem for the GBA thus far. I've only played maybe to chapter 10 or 11, but it's fun.

One thing I miss though is Ogre Battle Tactics. Mind you, the actual game play and much of the system wasn't good. However, the thing I loved about the Ogre Battle tactics game was the freedom of choice. Being able to choose your path and what side you want to take is something I really miss in the more linear games like Fire Emblem.

Double-post because I can.

Usually the type of games I play are from paradox entertainment. I have played a lot of Europa Universalis II and Victoria in the past and recently have been fiddling around with Crusader Kings some.

Crusader Kings is interesting as it is much more RP oriented and dynasty related then those other games. Haven't really had the time to get anywhere near finishing a complete game, so my opinion of such is still in its infancy.

I was in EB games today (though I think they are over priced, that particular store had some old PS1 games. I wanted two, they didnt have either) and saw that game "Jade Empire" for twenty US dollars. I was thinking for a moment, but decided against it, as I was slowly wisked out of the store to go eat.

So, am I wondering, is that "Jade Empire" game any good ? Pros, cons, etc. ?

If anyone knows, that is....
