I just said that the rhymes sound forced, which means he was just looking for words to fit. That's just how I feel, I didn't know this was a debate. I was just explaining my feelings, I guess that's my only evidence for my side of this 'debate.' I wasn't really trying to make this into an argument, you said what you felt about my bands and I said what I felt about your band. Let's change the subject now so other people don't have to read us bickering.

Fair enough. I thought it was a debate, so I approached it as one. Sorry lol, I have always had a special spot in my heart for debating music and such lol.

Ouch. Sounds painful.
One time, I went to this show called Metal Fest and it lasted from 12pm until 12am. So, obviously, within 12 hours of metal I saw about 16 or 17 bands (they were real quick about keeping on schedule so there was just about no time in-between.) The only real major bands that played were some thrash bands from Germany whose name I forget and that one band from France that plays with Gwar. The German thrash bands were cool but that band that toured with Gwar is all shock value, it's a bunch of fat guys wearing diapers and singing opera-style about dead babies and stupid stuff. A lot of the other bands were local. There were various good and bad and mediocre. One metal band had some old bald guys who thought they were 'elite metalheads.' They came up to us and said "Hey, are you guys ready to thrash?" And I said "Yeah." It's kind of hard to be enthusiatstic when someone asks you something awkward like that, but anyway, he had a happy high pitched voice and then when he went on he pretended his voice was Satan, it suddenly got super deep and all of their songs were about the devil. I don't know how anyone can take songs like that seriously, even in the least bit. There was also some singer to another local band who had a terrible stage act; He kept reaching in the sky for stuff but we didn't know what he was doing and he asked us to chant stupid stuff like "No, we're not messing around" which only one person chanted, my friend jokingly. So imagine only one person out of quite a few hundred chanting that, hahah. So it was a good show while at the same time a terrible show since there were that many bands.
But the worst was this one show I went to, these bands were opening for a band called the Adicts. The opening bands were SO bad they gave me a headache, I've been to a decent amount of shows and never any other time have I gotten a headache. The one band was a generic skinhead band that was so terrible I can't even explain them here. Another band was some street punk band where the members were falling over because they assumed it was cool to be so drunk that they couldn't play. Another band was a bunch of older guys who didn't have their guitarist turned up enough for me to hear it so it was like I was listening to bass, drums, and singing which ruined any amount of good they might have been. Another band had terrible stage antics where the singer put his finger into the air and asked everyone to raise their finger and everyone else went along with it... The Adicts were amazing though so except for the headlining band, the show was completely terrible.

Yeah, that sounds like a real shitty experience. I'm not too big on Metal actually, despite what most people think when they hear that Slipknot is my one of my two favorite bands. Most metal is generic, crappy yelling, dreary base line, unoriginal guitar and stale drums. Most of the lyrics are about killing babies as you said and loving satan. For the most part, its a bunch of white guys yelling about shit that doesnt matter. Thats my problem with music today. Every genre has become a machine, pumping out as many bands as possible to fill the void that we are left with because so many bands suck. Pop to me has always been shit. Though if there was a band I'd listen to, it would be the backstreet boys. Mock if you so desire, the fact is that these guys can carry a tune and have decent voices. Rap......well eminem is the only rapper I can stand. Punk........to me, punk has been dead a long time and is just a stagnant beast being kept alive by the general punk attitude instead of the music. Metal is all about being a "man", where every band tells you how manly they are by loving satan and killing kids. Jazz is pretty cool on a general level, not much there in the way of talent, but oh well. Classical, Opera and orchestrated music in general is beautiful, probably my favorite genre. Hardcore Alternative is another favorite of mine. I put quite a few bands into this genre, ones that I cant quite classify, such as Slipknot, Tool, Death From Above, Chevelle and Korn. Normal Rock is dull as hell as well, more or less the same repetitive music over and over. Country........I cant say anything on country, I dont listen to it so it would be idiotic and assinine for me to have an opinion on it. Techno I am ashamed to say I like every now and then.
Last night I went to Ministry actually. Loudest band in history and for a good god damned reason. I nearly left it was so loud. It was almost unbearable lol and I love that band. Most of you probably dont know who they are so its cool lol. They are a major influence of Trent Resner and Rob Zombie. Good concert though, crappy opening band. Lead singer kept slapping himself.

I have listened to some stuff by Ministry, I like NIN. But yeah, I hear what you mean about genres. It's just where it's at the point where I can't even say I like genres because the bands that are in one fit so tightly to unwritten musical rules and mediocracy definately doesn't make me like a band at all.
Do you know who the Bad Brains are? It's awesome how they have some really fast songs and then some songs that are completely reggae.

"It is the pinnacle of human achievement to have centered itself around celebrating mediocrity. For what is more mediocore the humanity, the fallen creation that does nothing but race toward it's own demise."
Just listen to our music, and watch our sports.

?!
Not sure what you're listening to to get that notion, but I personally find most jazz musicians to be
much more musically knowledgable and talented than rock / metal musicians. Then again, jazz is an extremely broad term and there's a ridiculous about of classifications within that, so we could be thinking of two different types of music.
Not trying to start a bickerfest, just wondering who you listened to that gave you that idea.
