Huang Zhao Unfortunately, I feel that it is time for me to leave it behind. Since the first day that I have secure Bei Di, I have only brought misery and violence to the inhabitants of Di. I hope that it will flourish in a near future in my absence. At least, I now know that there will be someone I trust to look for it.

Turning to Yuan Shu, he replied to him.

Huang Zhao I have no further request for the moment. I need report the success of this peace negociation to Lady Rui Jiao Jin and his advisors. I sincerely wished that the defection of Niou Sui to your side won't shadow the effort made here.

Sui gave a light bow to Huang Zhao.

"You have done admirably given the resources available, the only reason it seems so much strife has visited you is becasue you stood as Di's sole symbol of order. You drove off the hordes of Pang Ai(sp?), and defended Bei Hai from the attack of the Brotherhood which I participated in. You have done much better for the people of Di than if they were left to wither without guidance.

I am sure that whereever you find yourself in the future, the lands people will admire you and grow."

Fu Sheng bows before Liu Jin as he takes his place in the Hall. Rising, Fu Sheng addresses him:

"Your offer is generous, Lord Jin. I am honored for the chance to prove my worth to you and your generals. Trust, good Lord, that I will not fail their tests. Trust, my Lord, that I will succeed!"

Excitement and just a small hint of passion creep into Fu Sheng's voice at this last exclaimation. Truly it is apparent to all that he is eager to prove himself.

"If my Lord will grant leave I would like to head to the barracks, to study and to rest. The 'morrow brings the first day of my service and I will need to prepare for my coming duties. Unless my Lord requires of me further...?"

"I have great expectations of you" Jin smiled slightly.

Motioning to an aide by his side, Jin continued "If you will follow Tie Niu here, he will lead you to your temporary quarters. Pleae bear with it until your official residence is ready." Jin also removed an emblem from an ornate box and handed it to FuSheng. "Since you are still relatively unknown within the kingdom, please carry this insignia with you at all times, it signifies that you are a ranking officer of the Wei army, and will allow you certain privilleges which you can discover for yourself. I will get the insignia back once your battle armour and official court robes are ready, may take a couple of days for that to happen. Now if you will excuse me, I have some work to catch up on. Remember, report to the Supreme Commander for your duties."

Yuan nodded approvingly. "It is an honor, Niou Sui. I will have your quarters prepared for you immediately." Yuan bows to Huang Zhao. "Excellent, if that is all I bid you a farewell. I shall send word to the King as soon as possible. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy the comforts of Shou Yang."

Towards the end of July, a young man wearing fine red silks approaches the main stronghold that Liu Jin can be found at. He was a handsome man and took well to his appearance, a tell tale sign that no doubt he came from a wealthy family. In his left hand he carried a fan and used it to cool his face while his fox like eyes seemed to be always alert of his surroundings. The youth was not particularly strong looking but was tall and skinny, his robes giving the illusion of a larger build. When he spoke, there was a pompous air about him. "You there," He pointed to a guard. "I am Fo Xie, son of the great Fo Sho. My father is dead and I seek to regain my family honor by granting Liu Jin my services. Lead me to him." He said while continuing to fan his face, which seemed more like a command than anything.

The Guard Captain nodded, "You'll need to be searched before entering." Should Fo Xie agree, the guard would search Fo Xie briskly before escorting him into the Audience Hall.

Yuan Shu sat reading some sheets of parchment. Based on how bored he seemed, it was apparent it was some sort of progress report based on the economics of the region. He shifted a glance towards the doors as they opened and then placed the parchment down upon a nearby table. As Yuan gazed over the soldier expectantly, the Captain bowed and introduced the guest, "Prefect Yuan Shu, this is Fo Xie."

Yuan gave an approving nod, and the guard took a few steps back. Giving his guest a pleasant smile, Yuan Shu spoke, "Welcome, Master Fo Xie. I'm afraid the King has other engagements that require his presence. I apologize if this has caused you any inconvenience but I am sure I can answer any questions you may have."

"Searched?!" Fo Xie yelled indreculously. He was clearly upset at this notion. "You would dare search me? Does it look like I have any weapons on my person, idiot? Be quick about it then!" He continued to yell, though consented to the search. The youth was clearly used to ordering around his servants and being treated with the utmost respect. Once the horrible process was completed, he was led into the room to meet with Yuan Shu. Fo Xie did not bow nor smile, but rather looked a bit disturbed after hearing the man speak. "I did not plan for this, I thought I was going to meet with the King. Are you a valued officer of his?"

Yuan Shu gave Fo Xie a hard look. After an awkward moment, his stare dissolved into another smile. "I am the newly appointed Prefect of Di, Military Administrator, loyal and trusted Chief Advisor to the King. Now that we've have introduced each other... perhaps we can get down to the reason for this social visit, hm?"

"Oh, excellent!" Fo Xie said and immediately seemed to perk up in his attitude. He could not stand talking to people of lower rank, at least this man was worthy of his attention. "But I've not come on the matter of a social visit, it's more business really." The young man began to pace around, placing both hands behind his back and looking down at the floor, then up again as he spoke. "You see.. my father, rest his soul, was a kind man who spent our entire family fortune schooling me. From since I could first walk instead of wielding a sword I've harnessed my mind into a lethal weapon. I'm 18 now, old enough to be a man. I've come here to ask that .. no, insist, that Liu Jin places me in a high position of his government. My progress will speak for itself." Fo Xie concluded.

"We're always in need of talented individuals and it has been my task to seek out those in the land who are deemed fit to serve." Yuan weighed the man in his gaze, pondering over Fo Xies words "Such a position requires great merit and I firmly believe that progress does speak for itself. If indeed your tutorledge is as great as you say then, in time, a suitable rank will be awarded to you. Does this seem acceptable, Master Fo Xie?"
