A messenger arrives from Wei in search if the leader of the Yan Coalition with a scroll.

Greetings great sir,

I am Hun Che, writing to you on behalf of Liu Jin. Our kingdom has taken on the task of clearing out the tyranical forces that have ruled Wie for far too long and are in search of friends and allies. I would hope to propose a mutual defense pact with the mighty Yan coalition. I feel both yours and our empires would benefit greatly and add stability to these unstable times.

Eventually the message finds itself to Fei Lak, he quickly pens a response.

Master Hun,

Please come visit me or send an envoy so we can flesh out such an agreement.

The response is then given to the messenger.

The guards at the gate are expecting the envoy and welcome him in.

"Sorry Master, if you would please leave any weapons with us here, we will be sure to return them when your business with Lord Fei is concluded. Your men may of course follow you inside, but must also leave their arms behind. Is this agreeable?"

The small procession is brought into the audience hall where a small banquet is quickly prepared.

"Welcome Master Hun, thanks to your letter we were able to prepare a small banquet in your honor, will you please join me?"

The Prefect was wearing his ceremonial clothing and offered his guest a seat with some wine and an array of various foods.

Lak waved away the gratitude.

"Please, it will be beneficial to both of us if we can come to some kind of an agreement."

The Prefect allowed his guest to sample the food and have a few sips of wine.

"Tell me Master Hun, I can see the benefit of having such an important ally in Wei for my men and I, but what are your expectations of us? Our main strength resides in Yan, though we have some power in Changshan. I do hope we will not disappoint you."

Lak bowed, as if offering his humility.

Our expectations are only what you are able. To offer assistance when possible and needed as we will do the same for your. A friendship between our kingdoms would go far to discourage others from acting against either of us.
*takes another sip of the wine*
I see a potential here for a long lasting fellowship of our two kingdoms and so hope you see the same.

The guards nod. They remembered the man that had gone riding with their lord.

"If you'll leave your weapons Master, you may proceed with Xia here, he will take you to Lord Fei."

Submitting himself to the necessary protocols, he then went ahead to meet Fei Lak.

"Greetings, Lord Yan." he said. "I have returned to join the Coalition."
