Zu Pi: Physically search Imperial Envoys? Well, I'm just a schmuck liuetenant, however the Royal Inspector might have something to say about that.

He motioned back to the carriage with a wink and chuckled, essentially also giving consent to search the 'diplomat' once he was dragged from the carriage. He was dressed like an official of worth, but seemed like he hadn't been treated well on the trip or before it.

Zu Pi: I do ask that at least two of my men be allowed to accompany the two of us inside, though. The Royal Inspector requires...attendants, as is his right, after all.
While the envoy toiled over the disarmament issue one of the guards motions to an attendant who immediately scampers off. By the time the delegation had finally agreed to the terms another man approaches and bows before saying, "Greetings, I am Colonel Han Liao. In consideration of your "royal" affiliations, the Marquis has decided to have me escort you."

"Your two escorts shouldn't be a problem either. Though your safety is assured, I can understand how one in your position might feel lonely, especially so far from home," he adds with a smirk.

The cavalcade leader chuckled at the man's comment, it wasn't safety he was concerned after all...he was more worried about what Zhang Han would do to him if he botched the missions than some meager execution these barbarian rebels might lay on him.

Zu Pi: Ah! Excellent, I am glad to hear that Marquis Lin is such a kind-hearted fellow. Very well than, please lead the way, Colonel.

The two soldiers, albeit also having agreed to disarm, took a position on either side of the so-called inspector and made him to follow Zu Pi...who was following Han Liao.

Raising an eyebrow at the trio Liao proceeds to escort the envoy to the chamber where they would meet with the Marquis. Once inside he bows low before his Lord before formally announcing the guests. Once completed he then assumes his normal position at the side of Lord Lin.

((Dude the your location quote makes your avatar oh so funny, don't know why I didn't catch that before. ))

The Marquis of Yue sat upon the raise platfrom and nods as the guests are announced. 10 guards line the sides of the Audience Chamber with Zhao Feng, Han Liao, and Ro Aoi posted near him as well.

"Welcome to Yue, envoy of the Qin," Xin said flatly. "What can I do for you?"

The envoy commander smiled and saluted Lin Xin, graciously.

Zu Pi: Marquis Lin, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that his highness is not satisfied with your rulership of Yue. Your refusal to come to the capital when ordered by the Supreme Commander has angered him greatly. The fact that the envoy you offered to send never showed up, either, did not appease him either.

He put his hands up haltingly.

Zu Pi: But the good news is that you have been deemed the most loyal of the southern lords. You were the only feudal chieftain who even bothered to respond to the summons. As such, you are being given the chance to redeem yourself. This here is...

The envoy motioned to the rough-looking sap in fancy clothes behind him.

Zu Pi: Imperial Prince Ying Fusu...he has graciously been given the post of Imperial Inspector and tasked with overseeing your rule. He will periodically report back to the capital on where your efforts and loyalties lay. You are also being tasked with eliminating the rest of the southeastern lords who have openly rebelled by refusing the summons.

He held up a small document he'd been carrying.

Zu Pi: You are to recover control of Huainan, Yue, Changsha, Jiujiang, and Wu in the name of the Emperor, by order of Supreme Commander Zhang Han. The orders are here...

He shook the papers and made a gesture toward Lin Xin, indicating there was more to it than he had originally said. When he shook the envelop the documents were in, it jingled a bit, as well.

Xin's eyes flashed in anger. Standing so abruptly that the guards in the room immediately tensed, he asked the envoy in a soft voice, "Does your lord think me as someone that can be bought? Promises of power and wealth mean nothing to me. Choose your next words carefully for I have a reputation of violent anger."

The envoy raised an eyebrow, Zhang Han hadn't been kidding when he related tales of the southern barbarians.

Zu Pi: Uhh, my apologies Marquis. I am only following my orders to inform you that the Qin has sent you a Royal Inspector and tasked you with taking control of the southlands. Again, my apologies if I may have been crass.

He was barely a stable commander, much less a diplomat, so he was at a loss for words.

Zu Pi: Umm...a-are there any questions or further concerns, Lord Marquis?

He suddenly realized he hadn't been picked for this mission for his skill or esteem, but rather the opposite...he must have been decided upon as the most expendable person who could be sent.

Xin's scowl remained as he returns to his seat. "Well, where is the Imperial Inspector? I thought the Prince Fusu was killed by his brother."

The envoy shook his head.

Zu Pi: Not at all, Marquis, a vicious rumor that Meng Tian started to continue the war against the true Emperor. His Highness the August Emperor was actually very forgiving of his elder brother and decided to make him a Royal Inspector. His first task is to oversee operations here in your territory.

He pointed at the rough man behind him.

Zu Pi: This man, I assure you, is the real Prince Ying Fusu.

Xin leaned back into his seat, his anger abating. Looking at the man standing behind the envoy, the Marquis says, "Is that so? Then I will have accomodations prepared for the Imperial Inspector. I'm sure his guardian, Meng Tian, would be interested to hear that the Prince is well and alive."

To Zu Pi, Xin says, "I shall be sending a message to Nanzheng, asking them to send someone to confirm the Prince's identity. And you, good envoy, shall stay as my guest while I we wait for their response."

"Guards! Please escort the Imperial Inspector and the Imperial envoy to their respective rooms and make sure they are well guarded. I shall summon for them when I am ready."

Ten guards enter the room to escort the guests out of the Audience Chamber. Five will take Prince Fusu down one corridor while the other five lead Zu Pi to a separate room. Both will be guarded to prevent their escape, should they make that attempt.
