Biographies for this blighter
Bai Qi - One of the four leading generals of the Warring States period. To quote Wiki, "As a commander of Qin for more than 30 years, Bai Qi slew a total of one million six hundred and fifty thousand soldiers, seized 70 cities of the other 6 States in the Warring States Period. No record has been found to show that he was defeated even once all through his military career."
Baigong Sheng - Some Chu nobleman who fled to Wu. After being recalled, he defeated the Wu army that had invaded. However, on the pretense of being rewarded, he invaded the Chu capital and captured many officials, including the King of Chu. He tried to replace the King of Chu with one of the princes, who refused and was executed. Eventually Baigong's intentions were discovered and he fled into the mountains.
Guan Zhong - Prime Minister of Qi under Hedgemon Duke Huan of Qi. Made multiple reforms in political and economic fields to Qi bringing it to a state of prominence. Zhuge Liang was compared to him.
King Wuling of Zhao - Another Wiki quote, "His reign was famous for one important event: the reforms consisting of 'Wearing Barbarian Uniform and the Use of Cavalry in Battle". Basically, he invented Chinese cavalry. Before him, cavalrymen wore (court) robes and rode bareback.
Li Mu - One of the four great generals of the Warring States period. Halted the Qin advance into Zhao so much that the Qin had to plot to get him out of office. The King of Zhao was persuaded by moles to remove Li Mu and execute him. Zhao fell ten years later.
Lian Po - One of the four leading commanders of the Warring States period. He was a general of Zhao who fought with Bai Qi. His strategy of building forts initially halted the Qin advance. Only with his replacement did the Qin make some headway into Zhao.
Pang Juan - General of Wei and rival of Sun Bin. He was extremely jealous of his classmate, Sun Bin, and had him mutilated. He lost twice to Sun Bin later on and was killed in the second battle.
Sun Bin - Memorized the Art of War by heart and put it to practice quite often. Pang Juan, jealous of Sun Bin, mutilated him by removing his knee caps (or removing his legs below the knee). Sun Bin fled to Qi and, despite his disability (which should have ended his career as an official apparently), was appointed the Chief Advisor to the Qi Army. He defeated Pang Juan twice and destroyed Wei's army. Sun Bin also wrote a treatise on the Art of War with some revisions.
Sunzi - Author of the Art of War, need I say more?
Tian Ji - Sun Bin's partner and the acting Commander-in-Chief of the Qi army when they destroyed Pang Juan's armies. Considered Sun Bin a teacher.
Tian Shan - Nobleman of Qi. During the Yan-led coalition invasion of Qi, Tian Shan fed information to Yan, telling them how to infuriate the people of Qi. Managed to get Yue Yi replaced.
Wang Ben - Son of Wang Jian, father of Wang Li. As a general of Qin, he conquered Yan and Wei.
Wang Jian - One of the four leading generals of the Warring States period. Successor of Bai Qi. Conquered the state of Chu after Li Xin's failure. Also conquered Zhao.
Wei Liao - One of Qin Shi Huang's chief advisors, wrote the Wei Liaozi. Advised that agriculture and manpower were the two greatest resources.
Wu Qi - Served as a general of Wei and later Chu. Greatly changed the atmosphere of the Chu court, moving nobles to the frontier, firing lazy and inefficient officials, instituting a new building code, and reforming the army. Was despised by the Chu nobility and Daoists of the region and eventually executed after his patron, the King, had died.
Wu Zixu - Tutor of the state of Chu, fled to Wu after his father was slandered. Built the city which is now known as Suzhou. Aided Sunzi in military affairs against Chu and together they conquered the capital of Chu. Predicted the fall of Wu to Yue, but was ignored. Committed suicide.
Xiang Yan - Xiang Bo and Xiang Liang's father. A famous Chu general. Destroyed Li Xin's army and forced Meng Tian to withdraw during the first Qin invasion of Chu.
Yue Yang - Yue Yi's ancestor and a general of Wei. Defended his country against Zhongshan, despite his son working as a general for Zhongshan. His son was executed and made into soup, Yue Yang ate it, knowing it was his son. Ultimately defeated the stronger state of Zhongshan. Rewarded by the King of Wei, but derided for lacking any fatherly love.
Yue Yi - General of Yan during the Warring States period, led a coalition against Qi. He took seventy cities before being removed due to a plot from Qi.
Zhao Kuo - General of Zhao and the son of the more famous Zhao She. Replaced Lian Po and was commanded to go on the offensive with the largest Zhao army ever summoned. Upon hearing of the replacement, Bai Qi laughed and said the battle was as good as won. Recklessly charged into battle, seizing many Qin forts. However, he was soon encircled and was being starved to death. After a month, he ordered a breakout, but was killed in the attempt along with most of the Zhao army.
