<font color="green">The Captain coughed off for a bit, clearing his throat as if something choked him.
Some of the other younger guards shared wide grins and whispers aimed at their superior's back.

As if sensing what is going on, he looked at his back yet the grins were gone as soon as he turned.
The Captain narrowed his furry brows in suspicion while he observed their faces.
They looked like stones. Calm and expressionless.
Stoicism personified.

The Captain just shook his head, now turning back to the old man.
He was sure he heard something about memory gap and old age...

"We're just following protocols, good sir. Nothing personal, eh?"
The Captain only nodded at the man and eyed his tattered clothes for a bit.
He would then give the signal for the guards to do the search.

The gate guards then grinned at the Captain and carefully searched the man and removed all suspicious and malicious items.
They would also take great care not to hurt him, for they are in a jolly mood today.

"Those will be returned to you upon your departure."
The Captain simply stated, as the old man was being searched.
"May we have a look at the letter please?"

And if the man would produce the letter, the Captain would take the letter from the old man's hands.
He would read it and inspect it for any forgeries of some kind.

And if it was good, the Captain would signal for the men beyond to open up the gates.
"Follow me please, good sir."

The man would then be directed to the entrance guards, who again patted him down and removed anything threatening they could find.
With the two searches completed, it was time to enter the Administration Building of Shangdang.

The entire first floor of the complex was dedicated to audiences, what with all of the suites for exalted officials located higher up in the building.
The walls were like a maze, painted with dragons and symbols and all sorts of things.
Though sliding doors were hidden throughout where men and women alike conducted their daily business.

Eventually, they were taken to the opposite side of the floor where they were motioned to remove their shoes.
Just as a flying shoe came spinning off towards the old man's face!

And if Shengtu would not be agile enough to dodge the surprise attack,
It would hit him squarely on the face, the softness of cotton bouncing off with a touch of smelly feet.

Boink.

"First Blood!"
A tall woman shouted down the halls, booming ominously in a crouched position.
She seemed to be the one who threw the sandals. Quite surprised by the look on her face.
At the sudden appearance of the old man in sticks escorted by the guards.

Yet twenty differently sized shoes came showering her down from the back.
With two women in heavy armor running all over the place, sandals held in gloved hands.
Giggling and having fun at throwing shoes at each other, not noticing the old man.
They seemed to have taken the sandals from the meeting room at the end of the hall.

"Err...dare desu ka..?"
The tall woman said warily, a sandals torn and mangled beyond recognition in clawed hands.

"Bring him in," a voice called out from behind the security detachment, and eventually the guest was motioned inside, the doors sliding shut behind him. The room glowed a haunting gold, yet it seemed to be warm and comfortable enough. A lean and robed man sat crosslegged before the assembly, dark eyes calculating the situation with every passing second. He didn't say a single word, however, as he would let the guest state his purpose beforehand.
Xu entered slowly. Seeing the men in array he proceeded with the utmost caution. Announcing himself and declaring his purpose. Xu knelt in a soldiers salute.
"I am Xu Fu. I am happy to report that Lujuan will no longer suffer from raids and thievery. My force has secured the town and the people no longer fear for their lives. I am here to claim my deeds and let them be known."
Xu remains knelt and bowed untill spoken to

"Ah ha, yes of course." Shengtu fumbled within his robes a bit before withdrawing the letter. "I'm sure everything is in order."

He allowed himself to be searched of course, hoping they minded their busy hands. Poor Shengtu had nothing upon himself that would present any harm unless they thought his walking stick could be used, but alas the moment that aide was used for anything other than to keep him standing he would be flat on his back.

He was lazily inspecting the decorations as the errant shoe smacked him upside the head. Having much worse thrown at him he calmly plucked the shoe from the ground.

"Ah ha. Pay no mind, I've been the victim of much worse greetings in my life. I believe this is yours young lady." Shengtu extended the sandal to the girl, keeping an eye out for any more flying objects. "Ah ha. No thank you, I just ate."

"Nani ga iitai no."
The Kijo mumbled as clawed hands hurriedly took the sandals and gave a signal to the ones behind her
The two women in heavy armor stopped, the sandals in their hands, finally noticing the old man and the guards.
And instinctively dropped them to the floor one by one, like dead stones falling.

The Kijo then gazed at the man's posture, his face, the dirty clothes, as if trying to find something hidden.
He looks a lot like "him" all right. Or is this one another relative of his?
Where is that old pervert anyway?

"You know someone named.. Duan Xiong? Did he send you here, hmm?"
The Kijo asked, not even bothering to apologize, tilting her head to peer at him closer.
The way she looked at it, he got in the way so he deserved it.

"Or are you here for Zh...Lord Zhao Yue? He's quite busy these days.."
The Kijo said matter-of-factly, crossing her arms, slightly tapping her boots on the floor . . .

Shengtu tried to muster the sweetest, most innocent smile he could as the young woman inspected him.

"Ah ha. Careful ma'am. Keep that up and I might just have to make you mine." Shengtu chuckled jokingly.

"Duan Xiong? Hmm, can't say I know of one. Ah ha. I do know a Yuan Kong, funny guy that Kong but I guess you wouldn't be interested in him." He was about to speak more of this man Kong, but a shot of pain up his back said otherwise.

"Ah ha. Yes, I'm here to speak with Lord Zhao if he's available." He spoke as he patted his sore back with his free hand. While he was not as old as he liked to make everyone think, a poor life had left him weaker than one would expect. "Of course, if he is too busy I could speak to another about employement."

The Kijo sighed, mumbling with relief at the man not knowing Duan Xiong.

This one looks much more tolerable compared to that old lout.
He said something about going to some reputable "maffling" stable.
And shouldn't he be here right now with her horse?
Scammer!

The Kijo raised an eyebrow as the man patted his back as if in slight pain.

She smiled back just as sweet at him like any good granddaughter would.
When in fact she was simply gritting her teeth, revealing a small dimple on her left cheek.
Old age..

"Yuan Kong, huh? Yes, I think he's.. funny, no?"
The Kijo said, smiling more ever so sweetly, green eyes looking him right in the eye.
One of the guards escorting the old man began clearing his throat, getting impatient with all the useless chatter.

"What?"
The Kijo turned her eyes on him, narrowing those green eye slits, daring him to make another cough.
With her arms crossed over, booted feet tapping, she looked quite imposing with her tall height.

The guard only looked at Shengtu, then back to her and there he go rolling his eyes off her with an attitude!
The Kijo blinked her eyes twice as if not believing what she just saw.
The two women in heavy armor can't help themselves but start laughing, covering their mouths.

The Kijo just shook her head at nobody in particular.
Not wanting to ever remember that brief exchange that just happened.
She then turned her attention to the old man.

"Where are we again? Oh, yes. Of course, the audience.."
The Kijo asked Shengtu, a clawed hand slightly touching his left arm as she talked.
Acting with a sense of familiarity as if she knew him, with the way she looked at him with a "smile."

"Please forgive me for stalling you. I am Kijo Akki. You are..?"
The Kijo made a slight bow at Shengtu, unnaturally white colored hair descending like clouds.

And as Shengtu replied with his name, if he did reply at all, she would then gesture at him to follow her.

"Employment, huh? Follow me please, its just this way... I think..."
The Kijo added belatedly as she giggled amusingly past the confusing hallways.
The two women in heavy armor would then go ahead of them in a hustle.
Calling for attendants to inform the visitor's arrival and also to introduce Shengtu to whoever who would meet him.

The Kijo would then escort Shengtu, looking ahead as they walked.
Sauntering beside him as she whistled an out of tune song without a care.
They would then arrive and stop in front of a big wooden door, the two women flanking the sides.

"Please wait here.."
The Kijo said to him as they waited for someone from the inside to take Shengtu in . . .

Shengtu ignored the silent argument between Kijo and the guard as he was not one to intrude where he wasn't needed, well, most of the time at least. He instead found a small crack in the ceiling to be of exceeding interest, so much so that he looked almost surprised when the rooms attention turned to him once more.

"Ah ha. I am known as Bi Shengtu to some, Wenlong to others. Most usually don't find the time to call me by name though, everyone's so busy these days it seems." Shengtu returned a polite bow, as rough an attempt as it was. "The pleasure is mine Lady Kijo."

As he was lead through the halls his attention returned to the ceiling. It seemed that hairline crack ran through the extent of the hallway, he would certainly have to fix that later. Something like that couldn't be left alone, after all.

"Ah ha. Yes, of course." He spoke absentmindedly, almost forgetting where he was. That crack was far too important at this point, someone should really see to that.

Fu Guan heard the hustles and bustles at the Audience Hall, and decided that these things have disturbed him one time too many now. He decided to get up and comes out from his office, and walk his way through to the Audience Hall. And after some long walk, he finally arrived at the Audience Hall, and after that, he observe the situation.

Kijo is quarreling with the guards, and there is an old man who is waiting in the hall, and decided to take matters on his own hands, and said to the old man: "It's quite of a busy day, isn't it, master? I hope my colleague here didn't insult you or something."

After waiting for quite some time without reply from Zhao Yue, Yuan Rui stood up and bowed to Yue.

"Lord Zhao, it seems like you are not willing to have this meeting then. I shall leave for now."

He then turned back and left.

<font color="green">The Kijo only gave a smirk as the nameless officer addressed Shengtu.
Insult him? She was at her proper best! Grr!

Did he even know how hard she tried?
To restrain herself from bashing this man's face when he began looking up?
To give a smile when she was fuming from the inside?

The Kijo then gave a low growl, walking towards Guan as she passed him by.
Stomping angrily with every step like a spoiled brat. Face contorted in a red mask of indignity.

"Ganbatte.."
She whispered fiercely to him in passing.

The Kijo then continued walking as she left the halls.
Wondered how long she would be like this.

Guarding some man she doesn't even know.
