O and Run DMC, 'Walk this Way' has to one of the best songs where Hip Hop and Rock came together.

yes Run DMC and Aerosmith brought the rap/rock genre to a high place.. as for rap i don't listen to that much of it the occasional Kayne West and Jay-Z oh yeah and some classic Tupac.

I surprised no ones mentioned Outkast, they seem to be going from strength to strength at the moment. The fact that the song is played on the new I-Pod advert shows just how successful they've become.

I don't know it seems that Outkast is a flash in the pan. They've had good songs... but it just seems like it can't last.

They've been going longer than you think! And they do have staying power, you just have to look back at the albums they've done. Although they are not a regular yearly occurance they still show the appeal now that they did a few years back.
