He raised his glass as well. Although he expected to die in battle one day, Xiao hoped to achieve immortality of a sort.

Relieved that the search wasn't long, he freely handed his spear, Punisher, to the guard with his off hand. Lu Ban chuckled at the chipmunk comment, at one point Ban was counted as one of those chipmunks. " Funny story actually, I had gotten wounded in Yongzi when a javelin tip was lodged in my side. And after that had healed up alright, I went patroling in Yan and underestimated the speed of a certain cobra." He laughed a little at his folly, but he was a resilient guy, and his wounds will heal pretty fast.

Liang Feng was very surprised when he heard that he had been wounded in Yongzi. "So you were one of Li Lang's men?" he pondered for a moment, thinking of what to do and say. In a bad mood, he probably would have thrown him to jail if not worse at the mere hint of being a Li Lang loyalist, but since he was in a good mood, he waved it off,

"Ah well. It's good that some men are finally seeing the light! Hah!" he declared, putting a hand on his waist as he stood tall before the brave Lu Ban. Chuckling at the cobra incident, he grinned, watching his surreptitiously. "Next time, don't mess with animals. They are smarter than humans sometimes. Haha!"

Liang Feng was very surprised when he heard that he had been wounded in Yongzi. "So you were one of Li Lang's men?" he pondered for a moment, thinking of what to do and say. " Lu Ban let out a hearty laugh as well, only to wince from his side hurting.

Lak was working on a proposal for peace in Yan though he couldn't seem to be able to find Li Lang after Li Lang himself had proposed peace through a messenger. He saw Dieu enter with another officer.

"Dieu how the hell are you supposed to heal running around all the damn time. Take a break, there are others that can do the work."

He bowed to the man with him. Once Ma Dieu introduced him, Lak nodded.

"Master Lu, I am honored you have come to consider working for us. May I offer you refreshments?" Noticing the obvious discomfort, Lak rose and bid him take a seat with him to the side of the hall so they may discuss things.

"Dieu tells me of your talent, we would inquire of your services to help us claim the towns and villages left in Yan, unless of course you are willing to join us on a more permanent basis?"

Lak knew mercenaries preferred the temporary work Prefects could offer, but for a man of Lu Ban's talent, Lak just had to offer something more permanent, no matter how little the chance it would be accepted.

" Thanks for the kind words, and yes I will be happy to accept the task of claiming the remaining villages in Yan, I am open for discussion. Thou I must ask that I keep my independence for now. If I find that during my service, you are the Leige I am looking for, The Azure Dragons and I will give you our undying loyalty."

Lak was glad, this was already more than he had hoped for.

"It is agreed then, I will entrust the task to you and your men. Perhaps once the villages are gathered under our banner, you will have the strength to help us with the towns or in other endeavours. I propose to pay you 50 gold per village claimed and if you like you may keep the last one as a base for you and your men and a steady flow of income until you can decide to join us or move on to another location. Is this agreeable?"

Lak took a sip from his cup.

"One of my Generals, Zhang Cei, can help treat those wounds if you like. Should I ask him to come visit you, he might be at least able to help speed up your recovery."

Jiang Bao raised his eyebrowns and said "So you think Fei Lak would do welll as the overlord. What about the 2 Qin princes, do they not count at all?"

He was slightly surprised when the general announcded about his lord's intentions to sieze power so soon.
