The guards look over Wei Quande to be sure he does not possess a threat before leading him inside. Li Peng is looking at a map of the areas in Sai Province, but he turns at Wei Quande's arrival and announcement.

"Wei Quande, a local village leader? I am Li Peng. What can I help you with?"

Yen Ai

"He's inside, if you're going to meet him. But first I'll need you to identify yourself and hand over any weapons you're carrying," said the chief guard, eyeing the group suspiciously.

"I will disarm as required, but my guards will not. Forgive me if I don't trust someone I've never met. I will only take two with me however, instead of all six." Tan sighed. He was expecting this to happen. Still, if someone couldn't get around this small precaution, then they probably weren't serious about hiring him for more than cannon fodder. Mi looked a tad uneasy, knowing that these situations always turned out awkwardly.

Wei Quande: I have become aware of your growing influence in the region, and I wish to offer my village to you. The consolidation of Sai would do much to bring peace to our troubled land.

Quande gave a polite bow after speaking.

Wei Quande joins Li Peng (post in OI).

"That is acceptable," said the guard. After waiting for Tan to disarm, the guards led him and his pair of men into a room where Li Peng was waiting, and announced him as the mercenary Peng had sent a letter to.

"I see you're here, so you must have been interested. I'll get straight to the point then. The town of Anling is the only town we haven't brought into our sphere of influence. I want your men to capture it for us. In exchange, I'll offer you 100 gold. Do you find those terms acceptable?"

Tan raised an eyebrow. It seemed the man was even more straight to the point than he was in the letter. "Anling for one hundred gold, huh? I suppose I could.." he tilted his head slightly. "Amusing that you are so quick to hire me, but I suppose it is preferable to the speeches I'm given in other places." He made a gesture and Mi stepped forward, still writing something. "My friend here will take care of the rest. By the end of this coming month, Anling will be yours."

"Do we have an agreement?"

Peng nodded, looking at what Mi had written up. "We are in agreement. I'll be sure to have all the legal procedures taken care of by the time you come back. I wish you luck, Chen Tan."

September had already been in it's first week before the armored figure of Bèigùde Shòu appeared in Yueyang once more. His steed came toward the pallisades of the central administration building at a slow trot, neighing loudly as it did. With a tug on the steed's reigns it came to a stop and the mercenary lord riding the horse called out.

"Tell your master that Móushā zhě is here once more and is ready to continue our dealings." He said in a stern voice, as he stroked one gloved hand down the long single braid of his beard. Shòu was a large man normally, though now he seemed even larger with a hideous helmet now covering his battle worn face. It seemed this was the newest addition to his gear, a helmet baring the visage of a grinning devil.

The guards sent for Li Peng and he arrived at the gate once more for a meeting with the mercenary leader. He was impressed at how well the man was doing for himself.

"Mousha zhe, welcome back. You've done well defending the province this past month. I have the remainder of last month's payment here," he said, indicating to a large satchel held by one of his servents. "And this month's payment as well: to be paid in full this time. Did you want to take it now, or shall we discuss any possible new terms in our agreement first?"

The man known to most as Móushā zhě bid as warm a welcome as he was capable of to Li Peng. From the back of his warhorse he bowed slightly at the waist and lowered his head.

"You need not compliment me, I did not do it out of any obligation other then what your money paid for, Lord Li." He said with a gruff chuckle.

"Let us continue the arrangement this month as it is and I will take my pay now. However, should you desire more of my services you need but ask and I will order my men to begin operations." He looked around a moment, then pulled off his helmet.

He scratched at his cheek with his free hand and added. "A man of your position has enemies, this I know to be true. I am more then prepared to fight, raid and pillage for you. You need only pay and the mercenaries of Móushā zhě shall perform."

A tall man strolled through the city, walking straight to his goal. A long spear, matching the mans size, rested over his shoulders as he strode. Stopping in front of the guards he scoffed, leering at them for a moment before speaking.

"I'm here to see Li Peng. No, you can't search me, you really don't need to. No, my spear won't leave my sight, one of you can hold it and follow me there. Yes, you should hurry. Anything else, runts?"
