You're wrong. I've heard all of these bands.Pyro wrote:Obviously this guy has never heard of Dream Threatre, Opeth, The Ocean or DragonforceTheComeback wrote:No offense, man, but all those bands like Slipknot and Disturbed all sound the same. Especially compared to Jazz. It has so many ranges within it and are never the same as each other. Why? Because Jazz uses improv and it's own style of chords and progressions. You can also use much more instument combos with it, rather than just the drop B guitar and double bass. Jazz can range from many different emotions and styles, while metal really can only stay at one. Jazz in NOT all the same.Maggot wrote: Well, Jazz is more of just the same music over and over. I enjoy Jazz quite a bit but, I cant deny that there is really a lack of anything that stands out in that genre. They music, its just too bad that its always the same.
And do you know how rediculously hard it is to play double bass? If you time double bass wrong then you just end up stamping on both pedals at the same time and making one thud instead of a very fast series of beats. Trust me I've done it and made an idiot out of myself in the process.
Music, literally, is my life. Jazz, Concert, Rock, Rap, you name it.
I do know how hard it is. Do you know how hard it is to improv a solo or articulate correctly hard phrases on a saxophone while keeping correct tone?
There is so much to Jazz that has never been encompassed into these metal bands you're talking about. I love metal and all it's sub-children, but, I really do have a LOT of respect for jazz.
There is so much to music that it bugs me when people go, "Metal rules, nothing else is better."
