The books are pretty good, but I personally like the movies better. The books obviously contain a bit more detail, but the movies are just too awesome. I say just rent the movies again and call it a day.

Oh, I love the movies, but I always think that the novels that they come from are great as well.

Everytime I think I'm out....

Hey Charlemagne - I read Mary Queen of Scotts. It was, to me, a slow start but an exciting middle. ALthough I have to say I hated all the characters. The end was a little lame in my opinion. I especially hated the spirit travel at the very end! But that's just me - good book but I still like Henry better. Have you read her Cleopatra? I don't have it but want to read it.

I have yet to read Cleopatra. I plan on it once I finish her book on Mary Magdeline. I liked Mary, but I think Henry was the better book. It's been about 6 years since I read Henry though, so the recentness of Mary might be what makes me think so highly of it.

And some of the characters were OK. I liked Seton. And I liked Willie Douglas. To be frank, the scene with Darnley and Riccio in the brothel made me put the book down for nearly a month. I could have done without that.

But yeah, too many flip flops from the characters. If that's how it was historically, then it paints Scotland as a country full of schizophrenics.

That's what I thought - and yeah the brothel scene was not even necessary. Yuck!

It was a little interesting to dislike Elizabeth so much - I mean she's usually fawned over all the time!

Seton and Willie Douglas were ok - but it's sad they spent most of their lives in confinement with Mary.

I bought it, but I'm still in the middle of rereading the first three again before I start the fourth. I can't wait though, everyday I see the new book sitting on my shelf and it calls out to me. :P

Finished A Feast For Crows. It got my attention and was good, but the lack of some of my favorite point of views and the inclussion of so many new ones was hard felt.
