Now I guess I need to wait for kern to get back from where-ever he is. Well, it shouldn't be too long, right?

Yeah, I'm trying to check occasionally. I was really expecting BD to do the duel invasion stuff. What a slackass.

I didn't expect so much damage to be done to the Jiaodong army in a single engagement. Was that just lucky rolls on the tactics, or can the endgame armies really be brought down that fast?

A combination of the first two. Spork failed most of his tactics, Kern succeeded on most of his. Also, Kern had a -massive- Melee layer, over 100k troops alone in the melee layer, so that certainly helped.

Bigger armies means more damage per round, which makes sense. Spork's losses are to be expected, the problem is his low morale made his supply hits and protection very low so that he missed them while Qi in the second round got all three supply attacks despite them being under 50%, now that hurt.

Also, Spork should of gambled on a duel, +10 morale for him while imposing -5 to Kern would of been huge. I understand the logic though, duel wasn't a sure win and him losing 5 while giving Kern +10 would of been deadly...

Morale is key in these big battles. 12 rounds of +5 and -5, imagine if you win all of them, you win the battle for sure. I know a lot of people tend to favor supplies, but morale will hurt you more because it'll stop you from dealing supply damage and protecting against it IMHO anyway
