I'd say a combination of two things.

1) The long turn over RL Winter Break when most of the staff was gone.
2) The unpopularity of End Game mode.

yeah...and hopefully they whont just make the inactive kindom lose like that or will be bit boring. Even if the tactics where to be bit random it be atless more fun to see atless some fight

People were already leaving before the "end game mode" started though. Everyone in Zhao vanished and left Oro to come in as ruler. Shi Tong vanished. Mikal's apparently vanished. Chinka's apparently vanished. Even Liu Bang vanished! Like, twice!

I do see why they want to wrap this game up, given that most of the kingdoms being attacked, including some very large ones, haven't even bothered to make a reply this long after the deadline. What led this many people to become inactive, anyway? I understand a ruler disappearing here and there for real life, but entire kingdoms are basically vanishing.

Well, Zhao had so much turnover, who can keep up.

And Wei was basically Chinka all game. That poor lonely guy.

Agreed, the holidays had people miss KTs and PTs were also a lot left which prompted end game.
