Pshhh. Xiang Zhuang dominated, using the secret tactic "seem weak, but be strong on the inside."

No one's talking about the fight yet?

Xiang Yu's supply got murdered fast, but his morale is still pretty good. Can supply actually be brought to 0% via the ploys? If not, I think he can still hold out one more engagement, and at that point things become really dicey for Ma Dieu, without any armies to guard his territory.

Yep, supplies can be destroyed and this whole fight won based on that.

The issue everyone is chatting on in IRC is how much can TC's army relieve the supply hit. Can Xiang Yu ask his soldiers to leave the field to use a greater portion of the 51K from TC and their 100% supply? Seems unclear in the rules, I think you can only use them to plug the holes but I'm biased in this battle

What makes sense to me is you'd have to merge what is left in the armies (melee, support or both) and then use whatever you can muster as max amount of troops and supply and morale get adjusted that way. If that's the case, won't change much unless Ma Dieu is unlucky with his 60-70% supply attacks.

Some suggest Xiang Yu should just swap his entire Melee army with TC's army (or enough anyway to respect officers going to the battle) so that he can benefit from a much higher supply. Problem is I am not sure you can deliberately take soldiers out of your army...

So we wait and we enjoy the next engagement. Already 24K in captives, whoever wins is going to recuperate a LOT of soldiers, though at low morale!

Yeah - soldiers may not be swapped. Officers may be. But the troops on the field stay on the field. They are too hungry to move :)

The Chu battle will come down to 5 or 6 rolls, how exciting!

That battle is why I love this game!

Now, here's hoping the Han battle will be just as good / tight or even better!

Heh, Xiang Yu murdered the hell out of Ma Dieu's army in the first round though! Imagine if he was at 100% supply for that? It could have been catastrophic! 20k+ casualties for Ma Dieu's melee layer! And Ma Dieu is one helluva general to boot! Holy crap! Xiang Yu is one scary, scary man... >.>
