Li Guanjia set up a table in the most popular tavern in Jiangcheng, and awaited for a contact to appear. He has been instructed to be the contact window sor a certain chain of sub-contract works.

Sippy his tea, the chubby man waited patiently. Or perhaps greeidly would be a better description, since he managed to wolf down several meat dumplings in between the sups.........

Wokimo wrote:The militiaman was a burly, bearded individual with a thick neck, large belly and strong, muscular arms hanging by his sides. He was by all accounts a peasant, but he was armed at least with a lightly rusted short-sword and the look of a man who could use it if called upon to do so. As such he addressed the visitor with as much swagger as he dared.

"I guess you're lookin for Pang Nanhu then? I heard you boys had some trouble with some bandit or other a while ago, so I figured Lord Li would send someone to find him sooner or later." he said and hitched up his breeches in an important manner. "Yup, Pang's the man with a plan when it comes to bandits, everone knows that 'round here. You'll have to wait a bit though on account of 'im being up in them hills over there. "

The militiaman pointed a grubby finger in the direction of the route the envoy had just come.

"Don't worry though, my boys and I will look after you till he gets back. Won't we, boys?" he said with a grin.

A dozen or so poorly armed men gave sheepish grins and continued to watch their defacto officer of the day chat to the visitors. They weren't nearly so confident with their assortment of butchers knives, sharpened sticks and clubs as the burly man clearly was and held no desire to risk the wrath of Li Jiacheng's man.

"Come on!" he set off through the village and beconned for Jian Long to follow. "I'll show you to his place and you can have a sit down while you wait. My lads will look after the horses."
Jian Long watched in silence, his gaze drawing across the village, drinking it in. The heat of the day, before it became intense. The river and lakes nearby, there was even moisture in the air to coat the grass with a dew and the sun made it sparkle for the short time before it was burned away. He spent much of his childhood in such a place and the sight brought a surprisingly powerful pang of nostalgia. No doubt he would soon return to the palace to consult the Marquis, but here, for a time, he could remember the peace and beauty of the village and forget the chaos that enveloped the county. However, Jian stirs from his reverie by the sound of the strangers voice "Good day." he replies softly, a greeting as much as a request to proceed further inside the village. "I bring word from Li Jiacheng, Marquis and Lord of the south riverlands. I am to meet with Pang Zhou, chief and voice of Wuxing." he said, gesturing to the accompaniment of guards bearing the lacquered armour of the court. He then responds with a simple nod, his tone a polite neutral. "Your hospitality is noted and well recieved."

Jian Long's escorts dismount in almost perfect unison, tethering their horses before taking position around the diplomat. Satisfied their steeds received the care that was due, they followed the burly man into the village where each house emitted threads of white smoke that rose slowly into the air. Wuxing appeared busy. Dogs barked excitedly whilst children played unaware in the yard though all was ignored as they walked through the maze of quaint buildings. Jian's auspicious attire was surely an eyesore against the backdrop of the village, a complete contrast to the simpler folk that dwelled within. This notion was soon confirmed when Jian noticed numerous armed onlookers, half tempted to turn around and head back to Jiangcheng. Perhaps because of the introduction he had just received, he relented. "Wait for me here." He instructed his companions as they arrived at the chieftains house. Turning his attention back to the man who had lead them through, his brow furrowed slightly. "When should I expect Pang Zhou's return? I'm eager to bring word back to the capital before evening."

Closed RP.
My mouth was dry as a desert. My dehydrated body felt like collapsing. “Walking really doesn’t suit me, certainly not for this unfit Lil Chi Xi,’ I thought. I have to praise myself for the distance, for surely it must have been a china record. The sun was rising, the fresh morning air and freezing temperature. After several hours of walking, Lil Chi Xi could see the horizon of his destination.
“Ah what a slight,” said Lil Chi Xi under his breath.

He felt an extreme delightful feeling after weeks of travel. He had made it! And oh how beautiful it was unlike any other kingdom Lil Chi Xi had passed. Without stopping Chi Xi slowly marched his way into the province, hopeful to find a watering spring, well or Traven
After quenching his thirst upon some deliciously brewed wine and having some breakfast from a local restaurant. Lil Chi Xi decided to look around for anything interesting. Like other cities, it consisted of people of all types of jobs. There were the village farmers, helpers, scribes, smith men, horse trainers, soldiers and the occasional high class nobles all rushing to do their daily jobs, carrying books, weapons, shovel etc. Except for the nobles or officers. “Can’t really be sure, they dress quite similar,” He thought.

Lil Chi Xi took another look around. It came to his attention that all the other officers were indeed working. It was all except that one. He gave another glance towards her. She stood out amongst the crowd. Pale skinned, brown hair and what looked like blue, water-like eyes. Yet in this area, it was indeed unusual for she looked like an angel from heaven. She was not like the other black haired, yellow or brown skinned. “Although she is speaking Chinese!” He muttered under his breath in awe, whilst watching her talk to some villagers.

After taking steps forward Lil Chi Xi distracted, accidently bumped into people causing a disturbance. He immediately said sorry but this was enough to alert the girl of his presence. Her eyes looked at him. It felt like poison, almost like a hurting pain. Chi Xi wondered for several moments for who and what this woman was. She did not seem older than him but she seemed mature and almost scary. “Perhaps she is a monster, a witch?” He thought.

Without another moments thought, Chi Xi thought that was enough exploring for today and perhaps it would be best to return to the inn, for some rest. For clearly Chi Xi was too tired after the journey.

It was another week or so. Chi Xi had come to a conclusion it was just his imagination. This was the day Chi Xi was going to visit the court of Li Jiacheng, hopefully they would employ him apart of their crew, community, cult. Whatever it was called. From what information, Chi Xi had gathered they were the main people here. They had good pay and were accepting talented people. “I was talented too,” He knew that was true.
After asking around for awhile, Chi Xi was directed to this house. “So this is it, TIME TO SHINE,” He thought. He slowly stepped up the steps. Anxious and scared, he knocked on the door. “KNOCK KNOCK.”

Whilst waiting for the door to open he noticed the house was a sweet elegant building, very neat and tidy too. The door knob began to turn. Chi Xi was embarrassed, anxious, shy. “It felt so weird appearing on a strangers door”, he thought.

The burly militiaman turned his eyes skyward and squinted as the strong summer sunshine blinded him. The sun was proceeding through the sky, well on its way to the zenith, meaning that mid-day had not yet come to Wuxing, but it wasn't far off it now. An hour or so would find the quaint village baking in the uncomfortable heat of the Southern Sun.

"Not too long, I recon." he replied in an off-hand manner and banged on the gate of the chieftan's house. "It's too hot to hunt during the early part of the afternoon at this time of year, so he'll be back soon."

Pang Zhou's house stood out amongst the motely collection of wooden huts and mud-brick houses that served as dwellings in Wuxing, not because it was a residence of terrific opulence and grandeur, but because it was the only one with a walled boundry. It wasn't much, but it was truthfully the best in the village and the most comfortable home that Pang Zhou had ever had.

A few moments of silence passed between the militiaman and the envoy and then the sound of shuffling foot-steps on the other side of the wall announced the arrival of the housekeeper who opened the wooden gates a crack and peered out at the men who'd come calling at the house of the Southern Tiger. All that would have been visible beyond the gap was the frail figure of an elderly fellow who's frizzy, grey beard and wide eyes gave him the permanent look of a man who'd just seen a ghost.

"So sorry Shuo, but the master isn't home. Come back another time." he quaivered and tried to shut the door, but the militiaman put up his hand and prevented him from doing so.
"Yes I know, uncle, but I have a feelin' the chief'll want to see this one today." he replied firmly, but with kindness. "Have another look."

The old man peered more intently at the envoy and duly noted that the man wore the colours of Li Jiacheng and carried a courier's satchel, prompting a sharp intake of breath and some desperate shuffling as he pulled the gate open in welcome.

"Ah my mistake, so sorry. Please forgive this old man his ill-manners, he of course meant no offence to Lord Li's messanger. Come in! Come in!" he yammered appologetically, ushered Jian Long into the tiny garden and along the path towards the humble dwelling of the village chief, Pang Zhou. "Sir must be thirsty, Gu Tai will prepare the honoured visitor some tea."

The old man fussed and muttered excitedly until the envoy came into the tiny sitting room and sat himself down, then hurried away to get tea whether or not Lord Li's envoy needed it or not, leaving Jian Long alone with the militiaman, who's name had been revealed to be Shuo. Shuo stood nochalantly by the door in silence, considering silently what Pang Zhou might make of the man and the offer of recruitment that he no doubt held in his cannister.

Lei Tian had several unusual events occurring recently. Honestly it was amusing and refreshing compared to her normal kingdom hassles. One participant of those abnormal events coincidently appeared that early morning upon her doorstep. Both had a wave of shock upon seeing each other when Lei opened the door.

The poor man’s expression was a priceless one. His stare had made Lei Tian nervous, but in those circumstances she could not help but give a little chuckle. “Hello, I’m Lei Tian. May I ask what I have to expect for this unexpected visit?” She spoke barely understandable under her giggles.

She moved her hands to gesture him inside to take a seat. “Would you like anything to drink?”

A man in dusty, travel-worn robes tiredly trudges into the tavern, pausing at the door to pat himself down and release a cloud of dust that slowly settles on the ground before stepping inside. After a quick sweep of the tavern, he would approach Li Guanjia, pausing to offer him a respectful bow.

Lil Chi Xi stepped inside the house and sat down. “No Thanks. I have been told this is the place to sign up for the military life under Li Jiacheng. I don’t care for the recruitment forms and all stuff related. I just want to join as fast as possible. Please?” He responded.

OOC: Sorry, been busy.

Lei Tian was surprised by is response. She had not at all expected him to be so straight forward of the situation.

"Uh, that is fine. Li Jiacheng will be happy to have to abroad."

OOC: Welcome.

((For Krimzon))

Ding Yi arrived in the city of Jiangcheng to look for Yi Guang, Li Jiacheng's Field Marshal and commander in chief, a man whom Cong Ma described when she discussed the titles with him as "a damn bigshot" (At least it was so to Cong Ma. That peon..) Through some small talk and hearsay, Yi had gathered that Li Jiacheng ruled the majority of land in the southeast. She harboured doubts the ruler and his officers of the southern provinces would be concerned about the villian Shi Tong, yet Ding felt compelled to at least meet the writer once and in person.

She had never been to a place that made her perspire. Her fair and supple skin was clammy from the humidity. Her clothing now felt thick and heavy. Carefully she stepped to the side of the street, stopping to remove the fur scarf which loosely wrapped over her chest and shoulders. It was ridiculous for this climate, the young woman glanced up at the sky as she promptly tucked the garment under her arm.

Ding Yi carried on, seeking a government office to enquire for Yi Guang.

((Pardon the double posting. ^_^ Different RP, for Bain_nick))

Still in Wu province, Ding Yi and Cong Ma wandered around the city, taking a break from answering recruitment offers. They stopped in front of stall selling small ornaments and jewelry.. Well, Ding Yi did; Cong Ma would have just walked past it, but being a bodyguard he spun around and stood behind her, quietly folding his arms as the lady browsed the wares intently.
