The man was the Twilight General, the Black Ogre of Chu who had forced Niu Gongzhu into her latest flight. Once more the proud Qin general rode forth, his halberd tightly grasped within his hand as he rode just out of Chu's bow range. With a open smirk upon his face, the proud warrior sent insult after insult to lash the Chu ranks. Vile insults and questions of their courage. Proclamations that soon they would all lay dead before his might and challenges to any who would dare face him. If they would send a woman to fight their battles once more.
Yet, rather than Niu Gongzhu, a new figure rode forth from the Chu lines. This man was Pang Zhou styled Nanhu, a notorious bandit whose blood had been left to boil at those vile insults. Before he could regain his wits, Pang Zhou was rushing his horse forward and across the plain. Prepared to take Xiu Jiang's head.

With Pang Zhou beaten and bloody, he returned to his disheartened men. Yet, the Tiger of the South was hardly defeated. He hardened his heart and turned his humiliation into fury, swearing to take the head of his enemies. Yet, Xun Jiang returned triumphant to his own side. With a thundering applause, the Qin soldiers saw their champion return. Another dog of Chu easily defeated by the Twilight General. The morale had been shifted and the larger Qin army felt bolstered, they felt immortal upon that day as General Iroh prepared their ranks and General Ren once more prepared their horsemen and archers. While across from the field, General Zhiwen and General Yu prepared their own soldiers.
Finally, the dogs of war was unleashed. In a bloody clash, General Iroh and General Zhiwen's soldiers met in the fields of Bashang. Throughout the day, little shift happened upon the center of the battle field. Despite countless attempts by both sides generals, the sides never collasped and General Iroh and General Zhiwen saw their formations stand. Yet, the flanks of the battlefield became a massacre. Just as Pang Zhou had sworn, his raiders brought fire and death to the Qin flanks and supply lines. While assisting him came the twice humiliated Niu Gongzhu, proving her valor upon the field as she time and time again she proved just how efficient attacking then retreating could be. Even Ba Rong the Lionheart aided within those raids.

The battle was over before it began. Even though Xun Jiang had rode forth and once more challenged the enemy, his threats barely disheartened the men of Chu. Their spirits was high with that rumor. The rumor that Emperor Ying Ou had been wounded... And countless of the Chu soldiers swore an oath to be the one to take his head. The strategy was decided and despite the greater numbers of the Qin army, the Chu's strategy quickly began to dismantle the Qin war machine. Qin's supplies was decimated by raid after raid. Command camp threatened time and time again as Lang Ren's cavalry and archers was finally destroyed, leaving the entire Qin supply layer to be captured. In a hour's time, the Qin army was throwing down their numbers in mass. Swearing to give up if only to have their life spared.
General Zhiwen's middle had hardly been pressed upon that day and as General Iroh's formation began to crumble, General Zhiwen sent his men forward. Overrunning barricades and defensive positions, taking countless captives as General Yu oversaw the raids. It was impossible to hold the field and General Iroh was forced to sound the retreat. Perhaps they could attempt to fight another day, perhaps the Qin Empire would grow even stronger from this humiliating defeat. But, alas... Word ever so quickly spread across the Qin Ranks. Emperor Ying Ou had perished.
General Yu's raiders had finally surrounded Emperor Ying Ou's camp. Despite his honor guard's best efforts, the Emperor was caught and drug forth by the Chu soldiers. Yet, even though there had been orders to capture the Emperor, the zealous soldiers insured the Emperor's life ended upon that day. Ever so happily they paraded his body, over ten spears holding it aloft like some perverted banner. The Emperor of the New Qin Empire had fallen.. and with it Qin's dreams. Those few soldiers who had not given up the fight, finally relented at this news. Soldiers threw down their arms or fled upon the wind, leaving their generals to flee or grasp at straws. By the time the sun had settled upon the horizon, the dream of the new Qin Empire was demolished and the fate of Bashang made clear. Their Emperor laid dead, their generals scattered or captured, and their soldiers will to fight lay broken. Bashang had been saved.

Ever so happily they paraded his body, over ten spears holding it aloft like some perverted banner. The Emperor of the New Qin Empire had fallen.. and with it Qin's dreams. Those few soldiers who had not given up the fight, finally relented at this news. Soldiers threw down their arms or fled upon the wind, leaving their generals to flee or grasp at straws. By the time the sun had settled upon the horizon, the dream of the new Qin Empire was demolished and the fate of Bashang made clear. Their Emperor laid dead, their generals scattered or captured, and their soldiers will to fight lay broken. Bashang had been saved.

Re: The Fate of Bashang
Welp, this was a long and sometimes annoying road... But, I like to think we all had some fun and a few laughs along the way. We had some nice roleplay and some nice OOC bullshitting and I got to say it was a honor to quest for all of you. Likewise, I learned quite a few things about the game and we discovered two bugs in the Battle Tool and managed to fix them due to this quest. I'd dare say it was a damn fine time and I hoped all of you had fun. Below is the various closures to the game, the rewarding, and what not.
Just as a reminder, remember the events of this quest... Never happened ICly. If you got injured? You randomly got sick.
We also learned Flare_Knight runs away like a little girl.
Twilight had settled upon the fields of Bashang. Countless laid dying or already dead, merely adding to the countless corpses which now dotted the fields. The captured, stripped of their weapons and armor, was already being crowded into small pens and pits. Temporary prisons until true order and jails could be constructed. The city of Bashang had been saved by the forces of Chu and the volunteers of Bashang... But, at what cost? A mere glance across the field revealed that countless had died. Even the supposed scion of the Qin Dynasty laid dead, his form finally removed from those spears and given the respect owed a King within dead. But, a questioned remained. What would become of those left behind? Those who had sided with their fallen emperor and those who had led their armies? Would they soon join their fallen emperor, or would mercy be shown?
It was a question that dominated the field as Lu Chen slowly limped forward and before his arranged generals. His back turned upon the generals his armies had just crushed, several of them bleeding and barely conscious within their chains as they was forced to knell. Their possible death left to hover above their head, a sword's blade ready to swing at a moment's notice. But, several servants followed Lu Chen. A massive war chest held between them as he gazed upon his generals. "Men of Chu... Volunteers of Chu... you have served the true Lord of Ten Thousand Years faithfully. You have purged the land of this blasphemer and cleansed Bashang of its treason. You have done well... But, we all paid a heavy cost within this achievement. Countless have died and many more will die before the night has passed. I will not show the hatred and anger of that bandit, Ying Bu... I will see each of these men are kept alive if the Heaven wills it. They will be released after a year's work while its generals will be free to leave if they would swear to never raise sword or spear against Chu again. Release them." Lu Chen ordered to the surprise of the executioners. Baffled, they slowly undid the chains of the defeated and led them away....
Yet, Lu Chen then turned his attention to his own generals. A wry smile laid upon his lips and slowly did he come to stand before Yang Yu. "General Yu, your soldiers proved the key edge to Chu's victory. I would have you take this manual, a treatise upon the way of the general, and payment for your services." Yang Yu has received a Book of Maneuvers (Com+2) and 300 gold
Lu Chen then came to stand before Yi Zhiwen. "General Zhiwen, your lines held bravely and they fought against a much larger army. I would have you take this, the sword retrieved from Emperor Ying Ou's camp. Use it wisely and turn it against rebels wherever you might find them."
