Not accurate. ann ruled that a FO couldn't recruit a captured officer AFTER the ruler who had won already tried it. You may try to recruit an officer once after a battle - if the primary commander or ruler doesn't want to recruit an officer, a PA can make the offer instead.

Once a refusal is made, however, that officer will not join anyone.

I thought that interpretation was accurate! I thought the guys taking service wanted a job - they can't, after all, be expected to 'LIKE' the people who just killed all their soldiers and beat them. I haven't been allowing it. If you want to change that ... ok.

But we don't put them in the OM if they run away. They retire for the most part. Some may make it on the list.

Wouldn't that logic sorta preclude the captive officers in question from joining anyone, Ruler or Free Officer, who beats them in battle?

No - the rulers pay. You don't pay - presumably people follow you just cause they like you.

EDIT: And no comments about the Great Escape?

Sometimes you have to yell, the dead are often hard of hearing.
