Holding his sword in his left hand, the swordsman flashed a calm smile before he followed the guard captain within. As a holdover from his previous occupation, Xian Jue glanced over the furnishings of the great hall, acclimating himself to his new environs and preparing himself for action if the need ever arose. He gazed calmly at the seated form of the King and the elite guardsmen that stood at attention at either side. Especial attention was paid to Dan Ro.Naxr wrote:The guard captain nodded to the soldier with the reins, who then proceeded to lead the horse to the stables. Turning back to Xian Jue, he waved in the direction of the giant entrance to the audience hall, "Come, follow me."
Assuming he follows, he is led through the doors and into the hall. About a minute of walking later, the two found themselves about twenty paces from the throne where King Xiang Kai sat. On both sides of him stood Kai's elite guard, ready to defend their lord at all times. Among this guard was Dan Ro, Kai's personal bodyguard. The guard captain announced once Kai laid his eyes upon him, "Xian Jue is here to see you," he bowed.
Kai looked to the visitor and spoke, "Xian Jue, welcome to my audience hall. How may I help you?"
When he was introduced, the swordsman bowed from the waist before straightening. With nary an emotion on his features, he spoke. "I am a wanderer currently in search of a lord to serve. Once I served the Prefect Xiong Xushou as his personal swordmaster and bodyguard and later his successor, the Prefect Jin Kai. But because of Jin Kai's cowardice in surrendering to Li Zhu, I left Changshan in disgust. I am here today to offer my services to Your Highness. For decades, I have honed my skills as a swordsman and once upon a time, my real name was feared across the lands."
