His dark brown eyes were filled with tenderness, yet keen, which allowed him to watch the horizon like a hawk. His mouth had a sort of gentleness to it that you could only notice when he relaxed his lips. He had thin eyebrows and small stubby nose defined the rest of his visage. He has a strong built, but lacks some flexibility.
He had a topknot which he turned into a long pony tail by wrapping a thin piece of rope around the length of the topknot and thus generated a spray of hair at the end that resembled a tea whisk. He had thin beard, which made wearing cords from helmets and hats more comfortable. The long black hair had a few strains that hung down in front of his eyes, and over his bandanna, which was tied firmly around his forehead that now helps to keep the hair out of his eyes. Thin eyebrows and small stubby nose defined the rest of his visage.
Over his topknot he wore a broad-rimmed farmer’s hat to shield from the burning sun while traveling about. Attached were rope chin straps; which were tied underneath his chin, to keep the hat in place and from falling off. It was made of hand-woven bamboo and coated with a layer of varnish.
He wore a dark green robe much like the Chinese Hanfu, made of cheap a material such as cotton. He wore a long flowing robe, consisting of an internal and external layer. It had a diagonally crossing collar with the left crossing over the right garment much like a Yi, of the Hanfu. It had an open cross-collar long sleeved coat that was made of similar material but was much heavier and with that he wore a wide bottomed, flowing trousers that completed the outfit. Over this he had a long sash made of rope, which from it hung few small clay bottles holding water and various ornaments hung from it known as pei.
He also had on, a hand-woven bamboo backpack on with rope straps, holding medical supplies, herbs, and other small various goods. On his feet, he had on long brown bear skin boots, with a thick bottom, and that came half way to his knees. With the weather worn boots he wore white socks, with a thick sole, allowing long hikes to be more comfortable.
In his hands he held a long wooden staff about five feet long, made of bamboo, as he trudged pass the border into the coast line of the Huainan He had come all the way from the province of Dai, and was very tired, especially since he did have a horse. It had taken months to get here doing odd jobs for people to gain rides from here to there.
He stood there gazing around the large courtyard and on his way to the audience hall searching for the man they call Jiang Sei. He was wondering even if he would find Jiang since he said he would meet him on his ship the the Pallid Harrier.
The warm rays of the sun mixed with the cool gentle breeze coming from off the sea, left him with sensation of a soft kiss upon his face, as it filled his face with ease. He took a deep breath filling his nostrils with the recognizable scent of the sea.
He then sort of half grinned as he thought to himself that this place might be a good as any too take a load off and to restock on things like food. He could look around and who knows he might even be able to get work from Jiang Sei, taking care of some ailing people or body guard work, or working in the stables.

The ruler listened as the man spoke, one could see he was thinking on the man's words. He turned to his officer Jue and spoke briefly to him, afterwhich the large man walked to where the men were laboring, he stripped of his shirt and joined the line. Meanwhile Jiang Sei took a moment to retrieve his clothing froma nearby box and slipped a loose fitting shirt on, the kind commonly worn by sailors. He wrapped a cloak around him and buttoned it into place as he spoke to his guest.
Sei: Tell me of your ambitions friend Lian. I am honored you would like to help my people, but what is it you seek? Perhaps we can aid one another?
TheGreatSilverWolf:
The large courtyard that the stranger found himself in was simple but sturdy, workers were finishing teh building of structures around it's edge. Nearby the rivers of the province flew through the city of Huaiyin, and parked in teh distance of the courtyard in teh river was a large tradeship. smaller vessels sailed behind up and down teh river carrying supplies from the ships by hand as there was no formal port for them to dock.
From teh buildings soliders and attendants could be seen walking in and out, some discussing amongst themselves while others headed to drilling yard where officers were working the troops.
From the large vessel nearby a tall lean man decended down the extended and fortified plank. No longer the simple docking wood, the plank had been extended to accomadate larger parties boarding the vessel itself. One could also see teh vessel had been heavily moored to the foundations of teh river, as if it was a permanent structure rather than a sailing vessel.
A small cadre of offical looking men decended along with the tall man, talking to him and amongst themselves as they trailed behind. Right about this time a a small group of soliders saw the strange man walking about and approached him...
Soldier: Excuse me sir, can we help you?

Long's eyes glance at the two men, and with a friendly and inviting grin. He then glance at the ship and back at them and as he did so happy thought came about him. At least I’m in the right place he thought quickly, as he thought of a respectful thing to say.
He then he bowed politely, showing his respects, and replied in a quiet voice to the man “I’m here to look for the man they call Jiang Sei. You see kind sir; I’m here to talk to him about employment. If you could show me to him I would be most obliged.”

"Ambitions!," said Lian Zhu excitedly, "My Lord, I could write a book that would use all the parchment in this land about ambitions and still feel as if I had left some parts out. However, Sir, I do come here with some things of a certain nature in mind as far as how we may help each other in turn."
Lian Zhu looked over his shoulder and called Jian Sun to him. "Let me see those papers I had you holding for me, my friend," Said Lian Zhu. Jian Sun pulled out a long scroll of parchment which was clearly well used and full from top to bottom with the writings of Lian Zhu. Zhu took the scroll and unrolled it, presenting it to Jiang Sei.
"My lord, I present this to you. I have forever dreamed, whilst going through my training, to become the ruler of a city in this great land. As a final test of our political prowess my master had myself and the rest of students present a plan for a city. Now mind you, as we just now know one another I could not even begin to expect you to trust me with the rule of a city. However, where most students took this assignment lighthearted, I poured my heart and soul into it," Said Lian Zhu very fervently.
"It would be such an honor if I could join services with you, my Lord. I have the very best in training and would do nothing more than serve you with all my heart. Should you gain enough trust in me in due time, perhaps we can speak of leadship matters at a future date. For now, know my ambitions and dreams, and know that I will serve you fully, and will not falter from the course of defending you honor," said Lian Zhu. He then bowed deeply and awaited the Marquis' responce.

The soldiers looked him over, their gaze was not negative, but the stranger could tell there was a slight hint of suspicion within the gaze. After a moment the lead solider nodded to the man and asked him to follow the pair.
As it so happened the group of men descending from the deck of the boat were making there way towards the soldiers and their guest. The soldiers halted and stood at attention. Again the more vocal of the pair addressed the tall man in the cloak.
Soldier: Sir! This man is requesting an audience with the Marquis in regards of employment.
At this proclamation of the men that had been speaking with Jiang Sei stepped forward...
Official: What is your name solider, you know protocol, the Marquis cannot be bothered with...
Before he could continue the man placed his hand on the officials shoulder and spoke...
Sei: There is no need to worry, if I am not accessible to those that seek me, then I am no better then those that oppose us. There is no harm in anyone coming to speak with ANY official of my cabinet.
The soldier that had begun to tense up visibly relaxed, and the official looked rebuffed at first simply nodded his head in agreement and back behind the man with the rest of the diplomats. The man stepped forward and bowed his head in greeting to the stranger. He was tall for an easterner, standing well over a foot of most men. His body was lean and lithe, his skinned dark and tanned from years on the sea. His graceful step carried with it an assurance as well as sturdiness, however his demeanor was calm and relaxed...
Sei: I am Jiang Sei, Marquis of this province...how can I help you sir?
Jcenzo:
The Marquis took a look at the parchment, it was well beyond his grasp of matters of state. Lian and his companion could well see this in his expression. With a smirk he rolled it up and placed it within the folds of his shirt.
Sei: Well my friend, truth be told I will need to show this to some better suited than I in such matters. However I would be happy to discuss such future endeavors with you. In the meantime if you wish to serve the people of the people of the province, I would welcome you and your companion into our fold. I offer steady pay and seals of rank to all within my employ. The rulership has changed much over the past few seasons, but we seek to change the way things are done here.
He called over one of nearby officials who was running the numbers of the goods going a aboard the ship. Taking some parchment and the writing tool he penned a quick note which he handed to Lian.
Sei: If you take this to my aide Ya A at the courtyard you just passed, he will see that you receive proper lodging until I finish here and am able to discuss things further. Once we are finished here I would like to discuss these things with you over dinner.

Long’s back then when erect as he then took a deep bow, to show his respects to Jiang Sei. “Hello Jiang Sei. My name is Long Fang Hong.” He said standing erect again. “I’m here, due to the letter I received months ago.” He said as he then gradually pulled the letter from a pouch on his sash, as he then held the letter out for all to see. I’m here on you’re request. I’m here to seek work. I’m a stable man by trade but I’ve taken up medical studies as a secondary.” He then passed over the Official for reviewing.
The Marquis did not need to see the letter, he remembered the man's name when spoken. He prided himself on seeking out people to serve personally, something he had done with his crew when he would hire men on.
Jiang Sei smiled, happy to finally meet the man. He turned to the men following behind and dismissed them to carry out the duties of the day. He gestured to coutryard behind and began walking with his guest as he spoke. Couriers, soldiers, and workers all busied about as the pair walked, followed by the soldiers that attend Long Fang Hong.
Sei: Master Long, I am honored to have to you come. There is much work to be done and a skilled warrior is needed to help champion the peoples cause. I will not lie when I say that my province has enemies on our borders, ones that I have tried to create peace with. However it is apperant they don't want peace so my people prepare for war. It will not be an easy task, I will be looking for men such as you to devote themselves to the martial studies. In exchange for such service I offer compensation in the way of rank and pay. I sought you out because I had heard you were of strong mind as well as body....it is important to have people's whose strengths are my weakness, so together we create quite a force. If such an offer is appealing to you, I will see to it immediatly that you are provided with a proper abode to study, train, and prepare.

Long smiled pleased “I make sure not to disappoint you. I appreciate the more then kind offer and of course I will take it. ” He said compassionately as he then became weak at the knees, and lucky Long was able to regain his balance within a step or two. He then stood straight again; as he rubbed the back of his head gentle, in his anxiety. “I’m sorry kind sir; I think I need to get some rest. I had a long trip coming all the way from the province of Dai.” He said as hunger began to fall upon him.
“If it is possible I would like much so like be taken to my quarters.” He said felling weary and exhausted.

Sei placed his hand on the man's shoulder in a reassuring gesture. He called over to teh soldiers and gave them an order, to which ran off towards the ship immediately. The other solider handed out a waterskin that many of guards carried with them. Within a few moments the soldier returned with a horse, as well as a robed steward.
Sei: This is my own steed Master Long, a simple steed but strong. For teh sake of your feet and your health, please allow the beast to bear you to your home.
He extended the reigns of teh naimal to Long Fang Hong, while turning to the steward.
Sei: Master Long is joining our cause, please see to it he is escorted to one of the new private pavillions we finsihed up. One of the ones set aside for the men. Make sure his staff is prepared as well...
He turned to Long and finished up, a smile on his face though there was concern in his eyes...
Sei: Rest up Master Long, allow the staff to take care of your needs. When you have rested seek me out and we can discuss things further...

One fine morning...
A carriage rolled into the city and parked itself right outside of the gates of the administrative complex. The doors opened and a elderly gentlemen in fine court robes emerged and approached the guards. Bowing his head, he said, "I am Minster Sha Zukang of Yue. Is the Marquis available for an audience today?"
