"You speak wisely brother. You do not wish to overextend yourself, as we seemed to have in JiBei. For now." He chuckles dangerously.
He then replies in Latin.
"Of course Brother, I would be honored to speak with you."

OOC: What's a week, y'know?Mikal wrote:The guards glance at each other. Not every day a man calling himself High General arrives. Thinking a moment over their protocol, they look to the General.
"We shall summon an escort to bring you to the Marquis. The Coalition rules state only those who serve the Coalition and its interests may bear arms within this building. May we hold any such weapons, General?"
As the guard asks this question the escort arrives. Leading them is a tall warrior, bearing golden armor and helm, a simple yet effective blade on his hip.
IC:
The venerable official shook his head.
Xun: I was invited by the Marquis himself, as his personal guest I feel it plausible to deny your request to hold on to my heirloom sword or the weapons of my subordinates.
He motioned back toward his men who had standard issue weaponry, mostly for decorative purposes, except for the largest man who had a camp-hatchet roughly tied to the end of a farmer's hoe which seemed as though it was made by him and would be less than the most effective weapon ever made.

( OOC: Act as if I went back to Wei to see the status of the battle, and came back to talk more. kk? )
Bao Min approached the same guards he approached last time he came to see Fei Lak. Surprisingly, Bao Min had no tea. Neither was Bao Min wearing the symbol for Dai. ( Or Wei for that matter. ) He came humbly. Not even in a chariot or on a horse. On his own feet. His clothes weren't significant at all.
" Hello my friends, I wish to see Fei Lak once more. This time it would be impossible for me to have weapons as I have no money nor support. "

The guard shrugged and called for an escort.
"We understand, please accept this honorary escort so that you may be presented properly to the Marquis."
The man called for 20 guards to escort the small group into the Marquis' presence. Lak looked annoyed at all the guards and gave a look to both Khan and Rui, the newly sworn brothers that he found often exagerated their protocols lately. Once the General was announced, the Marquis bid him welcome.
"High General Xun, please be welcome in Yan. It is not everyday that one such as yourself travels this far north. As esteemed guests, you are of course entitled to refreshments and entertainment, unless of course you are in a hurry and wish to discuss business promptly?"
Guards nodded.Melfice wrote:( OOC: Act as if I went back to Wei to see the status of the battle, and came back to talk more. kk? )

"The Marquis has given you access to roam freely here Master Bao, please proceed to the hall, the Marquis is hearing petitions from the towns folk, he should be done by now."
Once Bao Min found his way to the hall, he saw Lak was exiting it with Khan.
"Min? Welcome back, care to join me for some refreshments, I need a break from bureaucracy."
Lak looked to the two men with him.VoShay wrote:"My forces are in Di, and Sai, Brother Zhao." He continued in Chinese, "and many of my mercenaries are otherwised employed, or have joined Lin Xin and Rui Jiao Jin. It would be months marching through peaceful provinces, of which there are none, to be able to strike Yin or her. With the fighting- I cannot give you aid yet, Brother, Marquis, in the form of troops. Take heart in that another of your cities may be employed ronuding up men as oppose to gold, as our finances assist you. Until we have secured our target, and deposed the false emperor, I cannot assist you. Yin has no desire to help the false emperor, but I am sure they will strike the second we have taken Henan unless you are pressing against them. Therefore, you must strike against them, and avenge the loss at Jibei. Yin/Chu will matter little once we have them encircled, Marquis."
He looked to Zhao, and spoke in unaccented Latin. "It has been too long, Brother, since I used this tongue. Will you please speak with me after this meeting? We have much to discuss."
"Strange dialect that. " he said referring to their exchange. "Of course, I understand the situation in the west, I do not think it should be a problem holding off Yin until you are ready to assist us. Who knows, perhaps by that time, I can shed their overconfidence and keep them boxed in."
Nash and Phai
Khan watched as the general entered, his weapon both unbound and at the mans side. The guards let them through without at least peace-bonding the blade to the scabbard?
He would have a talk with those guards, and hoped they would like their duties guarding the soldier barracks midden heap for the next month.
As those thoughts passed his mind, he bowed respectfully before the Marquis' guest, making sure he was ready to leap between him and the Marquis at any moment should it be needed.

Khan reddened in embarrasment.
"My apologies, milord. We are only speaking in the tounge of the land which I was born in. As you know I have been using it as a basis for the special soldiers we have been training for commands, to confuse the enemy. If you wish, I would be more than happy to teach it to you."

" You don't happen to have any Chai Tea do you? I haven't had tea in days. An amazing feat for me. "
After done with his excited tone, he immediately switched to a new tone.
" My lord, as you may already know, Wei and Dai merged into one kingdom. Though, I no longer want to be with them. It would be an honor if I could serve under your command. "
Bao Min showed no humor in his eyes, just straight seriousness. So serious that even Bao Min shivered a bit. He looked different from last meeting. Before, he was in full uniform for Dai, holding his ranks. Now he wore white peasant clothes.

Lak looked at Bao Min.
"Of course, out of respect to my ally Liu Jin, I will inform him of your request, but I see no problem there. It is good that they were able to unite and avoid the bloodshed."
Turning to an attendant, he adds.
"Get the Lieutenant General a few different sorts of tea including the one he just mentioned. We will have it in my personal gardens."
The duo, accompanied by Zhao Khan as always, made their way into the gardens. Xian Long Rui was there as well, it seemed the two newly sworn brothers were inseperable lately, Lak felt he was also sworn to the two protective men and maybe he should swear an oath with them.
"It seems this concludes my business in the west if Dai has joined Wei as one. You come join us at a rather difficult time as we surely will have war with Yin for a time. Tell me, do you have advice for me on that front Lieutenant General?"
The Marquis tone seemed more formal by using the rank, but he remained friendly and of good humor.

The oldest of the group shook his head after they made their initial bows and saluted upon entrance. The group formed up behind their elder, who also outranked them in most circles.
Xun: By all means your lordship; if you are offering refreshments than I and my men would not be so rude as to refuse.
The unplanned journey from the central plains had been rather rough for the group, suddenly unemployed (again) as they were.

He nodded. "Yes... let us take Henan, and then we may turn east, to Yin itself. You can take Jibei, and your northern allies can push into Zhao, perhaps? A three pronged strike will divide their forces, and crush them, Marquis. We all have something to gain from this, the loss of an enemy, and the gaining of territory. We wil lbe that much closer to uniting the empire."

"A man of your resources will be aware of what is occuring in the north, surely you are not surprised that I have need of men such as you?"
Said the Marquis between bites to the eldest of the group.
"What would it take to align you all with our ambitions?"
Though Lak continued to eat, his gaze remained on the leader, expecting the negotiations to continue but remaining informal in his approach, a trait well known of the Marquis now amongst his visitors.
"That sounds like a plan. I have yet to receive all the reports for next month's plans, but I think what you suggest is in accord with my own assessment."VoShay wrote:He nodded.
