Wu Bei bowed to the Marquis. "It seems there is much disturbance in the north, as of late. Brother Kai told me to come see if it could be settled."

The Marquis nodded.

"He is right, a lot of war going on. It is to be expected I suppose. Does he have a proposal to end all this?"

Lak looked on with interest.

"The armor that you speak of is a family heirloom, crafted by a father's loving hands for his son to wear. Plus, the gold itself is used to soften the real metal. Without it mixing with the meteoric iron, the armor would be unforgable."

The man in the golden armor looked at the general.

An older man made his way to the court of Marqius Fei. His armor and spear were dusty and worn with use. He bore the trappings of a southerner and bore the sigil of the Marqius Jiang in Huianan. He stopped at the entrance and announced himself to the guards...

Envoy: My name is Cen Qiao, I am here to speak with General Zhao Khan or Maqrius Fei Lak...

Bao Min rode to Yan, knowing the man he was going to meet was in no way the man that Bao Min thought he was. Though it did not matter. The meeting was inevitable. Bao Min approached the guards to Fei Lak's quarters. To the guards surprise, Bao Min carried no weapon. Only his favorite beverage that he could not in his right mind depart. Tea. Bao Min would gladly give up his life if he had a choice between not drinking any tea for the rest of his life, and dieing.

" Do not be alarmed. I understand that I am your enemy at the moment. But there is something I must discuss with Fei Lak. So today, I act not as a Lieutenant General, only a humble and contrite man. Search if you must. But I must tell you, it is irrelevant. I don't carry weapons. "

The guards nodded.

"Of course. Please leave any weapons here."

The man was brought before the Marquis if he agreed to leave his weapon and to a quick search. Both Lak and Khan were present.

"Welcome to Shanggu. How can we help you?" asked the Marquis.

" I understand the logistics of attacking Jinyang. But what has me concerned is you, someone our people saw as peaceful, has attacked us. Has land and profits truly corrupted your judgement? And are you completely aware that we will end up fighting to the end, to which the honor and pride of our soldiers shall carry us through the day. "

Bao Min sighed.

" Yet I feared this day would come. Why shall we weaken each other so? Why shall we get ourselves blatantly exposed? There are others, lord. Other lords and kings who would do anything out of their selfish desire to turn this land, this, wonderful, land into waste. " [/list]

Lak remained emotionless.

"Lieutenant General, I do not disagree with you. You see, an opportunity was presented to me and we chose to support an ally that has done much for us until now. On the other hand, the one time I asked the Lord of Dai for support when that rebel scum dared set foot in my home province, I was turned away. Of course, I am not one to hold a grudge and did not hold that decision against Dai, but given this latest development and having to choose a side in a conflict that seemed inevitable, well, you are witnessing the results now aren't you."

The Marquis sighed.

"I don't have the luxury of time and patience Lieutenant General. You have gained my respect by coming to visit me today, but you are a bit too late. Perhaps some of the fault lies with me as well since the only communications with your Lord were unofficial letters of intent and requests, but I have been a bit busy lately. We in Yan believe that our influence should be spread as much as possible throughout the land, but it is an idealistic dream that others will of course seek to oppose. As the Marquis spoke, the man looked the envoy over, noticing the sigil upon him. Brightening, he looked at the man.

"You come from Marquis Jiang and Master Han?"
