Striding into the audience hall with some measure of pomp and grandeur, the erudite Yu Xian presented his longsword to the guard and bowed. "Good day. I have come to make my services available to Fei Lak, who has invited me into his service."

The man is brought before Marquis Fei. Lak raised an eyebrow, recognizing the name as it was announced.

"Master Yu, I am glad you were able to finally make the trip to Yan. As I explained to you some time ago, I am eager to secure your talents. After our exchanges stopped by letter, I feared you had decided not to come. It is good to put a face to the name."

Saluting palm over fist, Xian nodded sagely at his benefactor's words. "Indeed, and for this I must apologize. I have been in seclusion on the Shandong peninsula for many months, tracing the path of the stars in the hopes of mapping fate. Now that the recent lunar cycle has ended, I felt it only natural that I should reassert my position into the affairs of the bureaucracy."

Smiling politely, Xian continued, "It should be known that, though I am not humble in assessing my talents, you will find me to be very accurate in assessing those of others. It is my pleasure to serve, Marquis." Saluting once more, Xian glanced at who he assumed was the Marquis' aide, anticipating that a seal of office would be forthcoming.

Lak rose and nodded.

"It is indeed a grand day. With all the recent expansion, your talents will be put to good use, I can assure you of that."

The Marquis arranged to have everything prepared.

Liu Tzu came up to the gaurd flanked by four men, hosima Lei, Sun Ba, Hiu Gan, and Ka Gong. "I am here to join Fei Lak," he said.

The guards went to go through the regular rituals of disarming and searching the men since Master Liu was already known to them.

"Welcome back Master Liu, the Marquis will be pleased you have returned so quickly."

The men were brought before Marquis Fei.

"Master Liu, you have returned quickly, you are ready to start helping us in our ambitions?"

An man and his entourage, bearing the flags of an envoy of Changshan, approached the gates of Shanggu. The man at the lead of this group wore the robes of an envoy, but carried a sword at his hip with a confidence that spoke of military skill. The grey on his head and in his beard spoke of one who had seen much.

"I am Colonel Wu Bei, sent as an envoy by my brother Jin Kai to speak with Marquis Fei Lak."

The guards nodded.

"Your brother's relationship with the Marquis is well known. If you would follow us please."

The man was led to the audience hall.

Lak was talking with Zhao Khan and Xian Long Rui, it seemed they were alomst arguing.

"Colonel, welcome to Shanggu. I hope my former tutor is well. What may I do for you?"
