You are suggesting that I ignored threats that were issued to me and my officers, to expose my brothers/sisters lives to future danger in order to show mercy to those who have stated their intentions to end our lives.

I will think at this state, your friends have to be the ones to take the initiative to at least pacify the tensions between us. To date, I have no knowledge of this happening, and every attempts to lower tension have actually been started by me or my officers.

Tell me, if you were in my shoes, what would you do?"

Music In The Kijo's Head - "Hikari" - Utada Hikaru

The Kijo narrowed her green eyes with ire at the man's words.

This boring conversation is just going in circles.
The man has just reiterated what he just said before!

The Kijo then looked at him, wondering if he really did listen to what she said.

He really is Liu Jin?
Or is the man sitting on the other table the real Liu Jin?

She then dared a glance at the other man in the hall.

What if Liu Jin isn't here in this room?
And this one here, is just some politician sitting on a throne?

The Kijo then gave off a wondering look on her face.
Seeing that the stupid smooth talking seems to have no effect,
She then confronted him in a rough manner that was very familiar to her.

"Hey, look here, are you even listening to me?"
The Kijo snapped her fingers to catch the man's attention, if he was really paying any.

"Psh, you talk as if you've suffered so much by these..threats?
Tell me, has anyone from Zhao Yue's forces ever attacked you, huh?
Don't go telling me idle threats can kill."

"And while you think about that, do tell me, why wouldn't we threaten you, huh?
When you're the one who's attacking cities left and right?"

"And would you please stop hiding behind that pathetic excuse about your kin being in danger?
'Cause it just doesn't make any sense, when you're the one who made them go marching to their deaths!
All your casualties came from attacking cities and you consider us a threat? Psh, cmon!"

"You're the one who's endangering them, not us! You, Liu Jin, you!
You're the one who made them go spilling their blood in the first place!
Can you give me any one instance that your kins died in defense to save their homes, huh?

"See? There goes the problem, Because you don't know what it feels like to be out there, trying to protect something that means so much to you!"

"And you call yourself reasonable, huh? Psh, I definitely don't think so!"

The Kijo rolled her eyes off as she then gave a soft, musical laugh.
Her bare shoulders shaking as she laughed in rich delightful tones.
Sitting back against the chair, lips moving in amusement.

Men.

The Kijo then smiled the dark smile, as she looked at him.
Wondering if he was sensible enough to consider the situation.
Or would he snap up in rage just like what she read in Duan Xiong's books.

She bit her lips, now listening to the music playing inside her head.
Not even caring if she loses her head, just by saying what she thinks.
Ahh, life is good..

Liu Jin replied

"I will not be drawn into a debate that will get nowhere. I have a lot of things to tend to in my planning halls and refuse to waste my time here if all you seek in visiting Shou Yang is to pick a quarrel.

Now is there anything concrete or serious that you want to talk about, if not, I will go back to my discussions with my officers."

Liu Jin left the hall, slightly amused at the naiveity and aggressiveness of the ex-Zhao Yue officers.

Yuan Shu was sitting at the opposite table. He signaled for a guard and they had a quick exchange of words, of which case the guard left the Audience Hall. Without sharing a glance, Yuan Shu began to speak to Kijo Akki.

"Forgive my Lord, he is a busy man... I understand your loyalty to Zhao Yue and it is commendable... such quality is rare to find in any individual. However, you seem to have forgotten the battle for Chenxiang, and how the forces of Shangdang engaged the forces aligned with Liu Jin, under the command of Xu Nie... an unnecessary conflict that bore great uncertainty of which Zhao Yue failed to rectify or acknowledge."

Yuan Shu looked up at Kijo, and bowed his head in greeting.

"Though true enough, a diplomat was sent. Demands of tribute were made, veiled threats, and total disregard and insult is all that was passed. Many times did we offer a hand for peace and each time Zhao Yue swatted it away. Discussions in Shangdang came to nothing and our envoy returned non the wiser, days had passed and Zhao Yue was never seen. During our time in Wei, we have only been met with distain and threat... these are not actions deemed suitable to base any form of trust upon. So, it was clear where Zhao Yues alignment lay..."

Yuan Shu let out a sigh, and then shook his head.

"Shangdang was in neglect and 'peace discussions' had failed, the people suffered and our soldiers marched in heed of their call. Zhao Yues administration was coming to an end the moment his officers abandoned him... I had hoped our actions were not to be forced but Zhao Yue chose his fate willingly as did those who resisted our occupation of the city. Now, do you not think our actions within events leading to this moment, reasonable?"

Yuan Shu felt passionate about his cause and hoped that his words would clarify any doubts that Kijo Akki may have. Though why did he bother, really? I suppose Yuan Shu had some empathy for Kijo, if nothing else. Falling silent, Yuan waited for Kijo to respond...

Xun: I'm sorry, we seem to be speaking different languages. I just told you I was invited here to meet with Minister Re Sui and you just asked to feel me up like some common whore?

The larger man behind him snickered a little at the comment, but tried to stave off his own humors.

Xun: I'm not some peasant child who can so easily be invited into arm's reach and than molested at your discretion, sicko. My men are a part of these negotiations, they will remain with me and I have no intention of giving up my sword...especially now that you've just offered to assault me.

He sighed, clearly not enjoying the guardsman's company at the moment.

Xun: So lets compromise; when you can claim a rank higher than my own, then maybe I'll let you try to give me directions. Until than, I believe your job should be to get Minister Re for me, like I asked. And you can keep your 'refreshments' to yourself, you goofy prick.
Re Sui had been informed by an attendant that a very important guest had arrived. The man he had corresponded with during the campaign for Shangdang, Zhao Yue's ex-vassal, Xun Ruishi. After he had been informed, Sui made his way hastily to the gates of the compound. He had arrived in time to happen upon the scene unfolding. Sui shook his head, he had hoped he would have been able to get there before the guards had dishonored his guest; sadly, it was not to be so. He approached the guards, his voice stern, "Stand down, this is my guest. I appreciate you for doing your jobs, but you need not insult him so."

He then turned to his guests and bowed respectfully to them. "I apologize for their apprehension, things have been... hectic as of late, much is going on. I am Re Sui, and I am pleased that you have come Master Xun, you and your guests are welcome, do not mind the others. Please, if you would follow me, I will lead you to my office." Assuming they followed, Sui leads them into his office where Huan Sheng was waiting, standing by Sui's desk. Sheng bowed low to his foster father's visitors and offered them a slight smile.

Sui sat down and motioned for Ruishi and his comrades to sit as well. Sui preferred things to be casual, rigid professionalism was necessary, but not when entertaining. Sui cleared some papers from his desk and cleared his throat. "So, I see you received my letter and have made it out of Shangdang safely. I am pleased that this is so. Now, I suppose that we should get down to business: what may I do for you today gentlemen?"

The pale winter morning paints the buildings of Shouyang with light and promises. Everything is in calm now.
So no one notices the arrival of a stranger.
He dismounts near the gate and comes directly to the guards. Six feet of a threatening, maybe just stupid, smile stands in front of them.

"I'm Tangxi Zhuo". A deep, hoarse voice.

"Bring me to your Lord", while showing a letter, as a proof of Liu Jin request. The guards don't need more than a instant to recognize the stamp.

Before Liu Jin could stand and leave the room the Kijo, enraged by his dismissive treatment of her, picked up the cup of tea she had been served and threw the contents in the eyes of Kia Su who was startled and confused. Before he could react at all the Kijo broke the cup and moved to slash the startled Liu Jin as he started to stand. She drew blood nearly blinding him. The two guards who had escorted the Kijo to the room were not nearby and had been stunned by the behavior of this guest of their lord. Seeing the blood however they moved toward the table where the Kijo, after striking a blow, leapt.

Liu Jin has a minor injury!

Liu Jin is standing near the table, Kia Su is behind him with burning eyes, two guards are across the room and Yuan Shu (though it's unusual but he inserted himself into an existing situation before knowing about the plot) is at another table. The Kijo is on the table with a broken cup!

((tactics from Liu Jin, Kia Su, Yuan Shu and the Kijo! I have allowed Kia Su to be present though he did not rp as he was referred to as a usual bodyguard. However Chuluun Sukh is a PC who was roleplayed by another player - he was not introduced as a participant but actually played by some other player which isn't really kosher. So, unless Trippy can indicate to me the place and reason for his allowing this in advance he isn't there))

Liu Jin, his eyes filled with blood from the cut across his face, stumbled backwards shouting "Assassin! Assassin!" As he did so Kia Su snatched his spear and raised it preparing to defend his Lord. The Guards, who had been startled and confused, saw the blood on their Lord and began to rush across the room.

The Kijo, seeing Liu Jin moving away shifted her weight back slightly muttering "Baka yaro! Where do you think you're going? I'm not done talking with you!" Then, seeing the bodyguard, Kia Su, preparing to protect Liu Jin, she lauched herself forward, flying through the air towards Liu Jin feet first.

As she did so, Kia Su, his spear already raised, moved to block her leap. The spear thrust struck injuring her as well ask knocking her out of the air. She fell, bleeding, to the floor. Kia Su moved to stand in front of Liu Jin who was backing away to the exit of the room. The guards rushed up, weapons drawn. Cries from the main entrance indicated that more soldiers had arrived and were entering the room.

((Any more tactics? The Kijo has a broken cup, a major injury from Kia Su's spear and is facing immediately the two guards and Kia Su. There are more guards on the way. Liu Jin is moving toward the door and is not in immediate danger, Yuan Shu has taken no action but still may))

As Liu Jin moved away toward the doors, the Kijo kept her eyes moving, assessing the situation. She looked quickly for something to use as a better weapon than the cup but saw only the mats and pillows near the tables in the room. None were close. She looked at Kia Su who had is spear poised to strike as he moved to block her path to Liu Jin who was heading out of a rear exit, shouting for guards. Yuan Shu ordered the guards to move forward and attack.

The Kijo looked at Kia Su and said, "My argument is not with you.." And, she moved backwards toward the table, intending, apparently, to move along it toward Yuan Shu. Kia Su, his eyes filled with rage, began stabbing at her legs immobilizing her. He shouted for the guards to striker her as well. The Kijo, unable to use her legs, struck out with the broken cup but was unable to do much damage. Yet her motions kept the frenzied guards at their grizzly work long enough to destroy any chance at taking her alive.

Eventually, the guards and Kia Su stopped their blows. Their faces and hands were covered in blood.

The Kijo has died!

The Kijo screamed defiantly at the face of strangers striking her.

Her green eyes blazing with rage.
A smoldering look that would shake the heart of the weak.

She worked restless and hard to keep them at bay, to keep them away.
Broken cup swinging in a dizzying blur of futile attempts.

The Kijo was afraid. Very much afraid.
Yet she fought hard to deny it to grow, to look right in the face of death, not wanting to wilt.
Psyching her mind up with a wall of iron will out of her stubbornness and determination.

Fearing that she would forget in the next life, she began shouting her name to herself.
Now oblivious to the blows that struck her yet again and again.

"I am Kijo Akki. I am Kijo Akki! I AM KIJO AKKI!"
She said so to herself, wanting to remember, wanting to never forget . . .

And for the life of her, she did want to remember her name.
With no regrets.

Moments passed and the gruesome act was done . . .

The Kijo's head lay resting on the floor, drowning her white hair in a pool of red.
Her elegant red dress totally ruined. And it annoyed her.
Today was the first time that she did and the last time that she would.
Swearing never to wear one again in the next life.
Ever.

The Kijo choked. Her vision failing.

And one last thought crossed her mind.

Her mother was right.

Love is blind.

The Kijo chuckled at the irony, smiled, and was no more . . .

After the mess created by a suicidal assasin, an order was issued to clean up the blood and gore that was splashed all over the halls. Furnitures needed to be replaced, floors scrubbed.......... Curses and swearing were muttered by the servants, all the hard, back breaking work due to a single act by ONE person........
