The Kijo seemed to be muttering to herself, still looking towards the sky.
She was frowning, smiling and sighing, as if considering something in her mind.

"Yes.."

Having that answer, the Kijo suddenly sprang into action.
With blinding speed, she rolled out of her horse, curling into a ball.

Removing the massive axe at her back and throwing it at the ground.
Rolling on her feet, she began removing her guns as well, with a practiced effort.

With uncanny speed, she handed them towards the nearest guard.
Towering and imposing, as she stood now to her full height of five foot and ten.

"Search me.."
The Kijo said to no one in particular as she raised her arms up to the side.
She seemed to be smiling with her bare fangs, enjoying the prospect of being killed.
Right there and then.

After standard secruity search, the weapons were put aside in the guard room. 2 soldiers were detailed to lead the visitor to the audience hall where Liu Jin was waiting, along with Kia Su, who has now taken on the role of Jin's personal guard. Jin was discussing some project scheduling with Chuluun Sukh when Kijo entered the room. Chuluun seated himself on one of the tables in the hall while waiting for this sudience to be done.

After motioning Kijo to be seated at a table on his right, and that tea was served, Jin asked

"My lady, may I ask, how may I help you?"

She looked at the tea being served yet she did not touch it.
Looking at Liu Jin, she began observing him, and his face.

"I heard about your campaign on Shangdang. Yet I don't know how it went.."
The Kijo then began, talking to him in a soft spoken manner of truthfulness.
"I came here in hopes to know how things are happening in there."

The Kijo sighed heavily, and seemed to be in great distress.
"I only ask that Zhao Yue comes unharmed. He was very ill, you see..
And so are his friends that came to defend the city.."

She looked at Jin with pleading eyes, burdened with great worry.
The Kijo would rather prefer being killed back there at the gates than say these things . . .

Jin replied calmly.

"The battle for Shangdang has concluded. I received news from General Wu yesterday that they have defeated the forces defending Shangdang comprehensively.

I believed I gave specific instructions that an opportunity be given to all who served Zhao Yue to yield first. However, it appears that some misguided soul still instructed the needless defence of a lost cause. That act cost many lives, to the count of some 10000, among which many are my brothers.

Now you come here to asking me to treat Zhao Yue and his men leniently, may I ask, on what grounds are these pleas to be filed? I have offered 10,000 men a chance to back down and go home to be reunited with their families, but they chose death. I, and some of my closer aides, have recevied death threats from parties serving Zhao Yue, and these threats remained unrescinded. Somehow I cannot help but feel there remain a lot of aminosity between me and the followers of Zhao Yue, despite the fact that he has proven to be an inadequate leader.

To my knowledge, there remain scattered independent bands of soldiers who supported Zhao Yue in the past. I have sent word to them to repent and serve under my banner, but I have yet to hear a reply. In the meantime, they linger around my cities, posing a security threat to my people.

Tell me, how exactly will you propose that I be lenient to your former leige and his current and ex followes. I consider myself a reasonable person and will listen to any sound proposal."

Jin stressed the word "EXACTLY" very much

Music In The Kijo's Head - "Happy Line" - Yui

The Kijo listened to Liu Jin carefully as he spoked to her in a calm manner.
She looked at the way and the manner of how he spoke, trying to get an inkling of his character.

Watching. Probing. Watching.
Her hands stretched out like long spider legs before her, fingertips touching.
Through the screen of fingers, she gazed at him.

Precious moments passed. And the tea is growing cold.

"How hard is it, really, Liu Jin? To let those people go with their lives? That you would need a reason just to do that.
Knowing the fact that he was indisposed and that those people only did what they think is right?
To stand beside your friend when he can't stand for himself?"

"Tell me, do you really need a reason for that, Liu Jin?"
The Kijo asked him softly, looking at him right in the eye.

"Yes, Zhao Yue had unwillingly neglected his duties because of his illness, no argument there.
The people had called for someone and you came running to their plight. And here we are."

"You already have the city of Shangdang, what more could you possibly get by harming these people?
Much more Zhao Yue himself. Knowing the fact that there are still people out there supporting him?"

"The attack on Shangdang was understandable, applauded even, by some.
Why needlessly earn their enmity when you can gain their respect?"

"Let Zhao Yue and his followers go. With him and his illness, they are without a head."

"Pingyang. Shouyang. And now, Shangdang. You already have three cities under your belt, Liu Jin.
And if you still feel.. threatened ...by these band of soldiers that you speak of, then I say, you really do have a problem . . .

The Kijo watched Liu Jin closely now more than before.

Watching. Probing. Watching.

Sun Li-jen arrives at Shou Yang

Post by SirEbrum »

Sun Li-jen wondered not for the last time if it had been wise to answer Liu Jin's call as he approached the guards to Lord Liu's halls. Li-jen was not a physically imposing man, nor given to ostentation or theatrics -- not unless it served a tactical purpose. His keen eyes gazed steadily from beneath hair flecked liberally with grey. 26 years of age, and already a dour old man. 'Ah well, what does wisdom profit a man in these degenerate days? Wise or not, I could never have refused Lord Liu's call.'
He stopped in front of the guards

"I have come to answer Lord Liu's call to arms. Here is a letter of introduction for him detailing my own muster."

My Lord Liu Jin,
I have come to Shou Yang to join your service. My personal resources were sufficient to muster 3000 men fit for duty armed with halberds. I await an audience with your excellency.

Kijo:

"So once again, we have a proposal from your cliche of firends or comrades or whatever you call them, to make concessions and yet receive nothing in kind. You are suggesting that I ignored threats that were issued to me and my officers, to expose my brothers/sisters lives to future danger in order to show mercy to those who have stated their intentions to end our lives.

I will think at this state, your friends have to be the ones to take the initiative to at least pacify the tensions between us. To date, I have no knowledge of this happening, and every attempts to lower tension have actually been started by me or my officers.

Tell me, if you were in my shoes, what would you do?"

SireEbrum:

OOC: This audience is to fulfill the requirements of admin to RP the admission of the officer. He was already accepted into Liu Jin's ranks.......

After a standard security check to remove weapons, Sun was admiitted into the audience hall when Jin awaits.

"I see you have heeded my call to arms. On behalf of my other brothers and sisters, I welcome you."

Sun Li-jen accepted into the ranks of Liu Jin.

Ping:

The guard at the city gates questioned the new comer

"Please announce your name, rank if applicable, and intent of visit. If you are visiting the administration of the city, it is standard proceedures to leave your weapons at the guardroom and be subjected to a search. Your weapons will be returned to you after you leave the official premises. Do you agree to be searched?"

SituJinrong wrote:Scouts outside the city have informed the city guards of the approach of troops marching under another colours. A security alert was sounded and a turnout of the city guards made. Everyone was wary especially when the flags of Zhao Yue showed up.

The duty officer of the city guards was fully decked out in battle order, and he appeared a little less tensed after he heard the hail that this party came for other business apparently instead of war. Still he was wary when he approached Xun.

"Please wait a little while we get someone to inform Officer Re Sui in his residence."

"Oh, by the way if you do not mind, your men will have to wait in the guest room over there. They will remain under guard but if you have come in the name of peace, they will not be harmed until they initiate hostile actions. Of course, we will serve them refreshments while you settle whatever business you may have with Officer Re."

"Since they were quite some skirmishes that broke out between our forces and Zhao Yue's army over the last few months, you will not be allowed arms into the city, and we will have to search you as part of the security proceedure. Do you agree to these?"

"And please state your name, rank and purpose of this visit so that we can inform Officer Re."
OOC: Heheh, cadre = 4 men, in this particular case. Just my NPC followers and I. ;)

IC:
The venerable commander stared at the man and cocked his head to the side.

Xun: I'm sorry, we seem to be speaking different languages. I just told you I was invited here to meet with Minister Re Sui and you just asked to feel me up like some common whore?

The larger man behind him snickered a little at the comment, but tried to stave off his own humors.

Xun: I'm not some peasant child who can so easily be invited into arm's reach and than molested at your discretion, sicko. My men are a part of these negotiations, they will remain with me and I have no intention of giving up my sword...especially now that you've just offered to assault me.

He sighed, clearly not enjoying the guardsman's company at the moment.

Xun: So lets compromise; when you can claim a rank higher than my own, then maybe I'll let you try to give me directions. Until than, I believe your job should be to get Minister Re for me, like I asked. And you can keep your 'refreshments' to yourself, you goofy prick.

OOC: That is quite a scary army! Guess, I will wait for Re Sui to respond since he is who u you looking for.

IC:

The guard captain was visibly upset, here is a man from the defeated Zhao's army telling HIM what to do?

"In this case, please wait here until Officer Re comes over, my standing orders are not to allow men like you to enter Shou Yang unescorted and fully armed."
