While he took a cup of wine and a bowl of rice, he listened to the rumors. He tried learned about a recently appointed governor of this city. That same man sent him a letter wondering if Guo Tugu was seeking a job. The job of mercenary was a difficult one and Tugu was lazy of it. When he quit his village, his goal was to find a worthy ruler. He was wondering if that Huang Zhao was the man he was looking for.

After he finished his meal, Guo Tugu decided that it was time to see who that Huang Zhao was. That man who praised his talents.

Guo Tugu asked many times to strangers how to arrived at the halls. When he finally found his way, he saw a couple of guard. He went to them presenting the letter.

"This should be help for my entrance. Your Lord, Huang Zhao, sent me this letter. It is said that he has a job to offer for me and my men. I'm Guo Tugu, I want to see him right away."

Guo Tugu was showing overconfidence trying to impress the man in front of him.
Patiently, the guard replied to the newcomer with a smile on his face.

Guard I don't want to offense you, but you won't see him right away. You need to submit to a security search for concealed weapon and to surrender any weapon you might carry. Then if you comply to all these security measure, you will have access to the audience halls.

Patiently, the guard waited for the answer.
Still showing self-confidence, Guo Tugu accepted to the demand of the guard.

"Make it quick! I don't have tome to lose. And watch where you put these hands. Once you are finish, I hope you will get me to your Lord."

Guo tugu waited for the security protocol to be executed."

The guard calmed himself and did his job. If any weapons conceal or not are found they are confiscated until the end of the meeting.

Guard Does it hurt? Now you are ready for your audience. You seem to have a high opinion of yourself. Follow me and you will see Lord Huang Zhao.

The guard guided the visitor to the audience chamber. A man was listening to a couple of middle-age person. The guard signed Guo Tugu to wait until the man was finished before entering the room. The only thing that Guo Tugu was able to heard was the man telling the couple that he will send worker to repaired something. After the couple thanked the man, the guard approached announcing the guest.

Guard Master Huang Zhao, this hasty man is named Guo Tugu. He has a letter in his possession written by your hand asking him to come to see you for employment.

Siiting on a pillow, Huang Zhao answered the call of his guard.

Huang Zhao Thank you! You may leave now. I will speak with this stranger. He haven't lie to you, I am the one who send him a letter.

Huang Zhao took 2 cup and poured tea in each of them.

Huang Zhao I appreciate your visit, Guo Tugu. It is a blessing for me that you are honoring me with your presence. Please take a seat and this cup of tea. You are probably tired.

Guo Tugu looked around the room and didn't find that the room was to private. He was a little bit offuscated to be received in a audience room where commoners come to exposed their problems.

"I am sorry. Do you have a more comfortable room where will be able to have a proper conversation without having the chance to be interrupted."

Guo Tugu, showing impatience, waited for the answer of the other man.

Huang Zhao was kinda shocked by the demand of his guest. He replied too him.

Huang Zhao Pardon me but I am not use to receive guest in my personal chamber. But since I really want to speak with you about the employment I have to offer, I will concede what you ask for. Please follow me!

Huang Zhao left the audience chamber from a back door. A small corridor lead them to a private office. Compared to the audience chamber, this room looked more comfortable. A sweet perfurme of incense was perceptible. The room was decorated with drapery representing old legend of China. A table with an impresisve collection of books and scrolls was visible from the entrance. Signaling a place to seat to Guo Tugu, Huang Zhao asked him to resume the conversation.

Huang Zhao Is this room comfortable enough for you? Now, why don't we continue our conversation.

Huang Zhao waited for the reply of the man.

Once he had entered the room, the table with the books caught the interest of Guo Tugu. This room was definitively much more private and causy then that cold audience chamber. Guo Tugu feeled much more comfortable and ready to talk.

"Lord Huang Zhao, I can see from that books collecting that you are a reader. Many things can be learned from books. If you tell me what kind of book you have read recently, I will tell you what kind of a man you are."

Guo Tugu let time to Huang Zhao to speak.

I was now the turn of Guo Tugu to go near the table, he took one of the books in his hand.

"Your litterature is appropritate for a magistrate for sure. You seem to be really focus on the wellfare of the commoners of Bei Di. Not everything can be learned into books. Experience is the best source of learnings. You seem to be a compationnate man."

He started to move the books on the table, just like if he was seeking a book in particular.

"You haven't speak about military tactics or military command. Are they subjects you despise?"

Huang Zhao took a sip of tea before he answered Guo Tugu.

Huang Zhao I don't despise them, but I am a more administrative kind of man. I don't feel like a battlefield is my place. Bring me administrative work and I will conquer this battlefield. Bring me soldiers and weapons and I will probably be beat to death.

Huang Zhao took a pause.

Huang Zhao Maybe it is time for me to introduce the reason of my letter. I'm desperatly in need of good commanders for my army especially a good tactician. I have heard that you may be the perfect guy for the job and since you are from a nearby town. I guessed that you may be interested to join me.

Huang Zhao took another pause.

Huang Zhao With troubles spreading in nearby provinces, I fear that the province of Di won't be safe for too long. I need to build a solid army with skilled commanders.

Guo Tugu took a lot of time to think about the proposal of Huang Zhao before he resumed the discussion.

"What's in your offer for me and my personal army? I won't leave them without a leader. What will be my role in your army? I will find it offense if I just manage to be a secondary officer."

After he finished his interrogation, Guo Tugu finished to drink his cup of tea.
