Xin rode diligently the city of Xuyi in Huainan with his usual escort of personal security. Approaching the gates, the Marquis of Yue dismounted gracefully and bowed to the guards. "I am Lin Xin, Marquis of Yue," he said with an anxious look on his face. "Is Marquis Yi available for an audience?"

Usual searches were done before Lin Xin was escorted inside. Yi Lian, hearing this, rose from her seat and waited for Lin Xin to arrive. When she did, she stood and said, "Marquis Lin, surprising to see you. How may I help you?"

Xin bowed upon being brought before Lian. "I had to come personally now that my wounds have healed Marquis Yi," he began with a smile. "Some unforeseen circumstances prevented our joint plans to come to fruition this month and I felt compelled to apologize personally."

Hoping he wasn't being too forward, Xin added, "Of course, the added benefit of seeing your Ladyship in person again is an added bonus."

Yi Lian bowed back and said, "It's good to see you well again, Marquis Lin. I do hope that Yue is going well. The unforeseen circumstances are understandable, though it was a timing issue. You do not need to apologize, Marquis. Our trust towards one another have grew and I trust your judgement."

"What has brought you here, Marquis? Is there something that you want to talk about?"

Xin nodded as he straightened. "Yue is doing well," he responded. "I have been able to initiate several public projects to begin rebuilding the destruction wrought by the Qin. However, I have come to discuss something other than the unpleasant Qin."

"Taishi Guang is a supporter of the Qin," he continued with a frown, after a slight pause. "I had sent my brother to assess Pang Li and found him to be a well-intentioned man. However, his support for Guang in Nanjung concerns me...what do you make of this?"

Yi Lian nodded. "I am also concerned about this situation. It appears that Pang Li had previous conflicts with the Raven Wind Mercenary. Though..." She paused. "It does concern me that he is in support of the Qin. I am trying to convince him otherwise, it doesn't seem to be working though..."

With a letter in one hand and his halberd in the other, Guang Yi arrived at this city. His brother is on his side. He walks up to the guards and sets down his halberd on the tip. Yi takes the lead. "I have received a letter from Yi Lian, please let her know that Guang Yi of Yin is here."

"He has a problem with the Raven Wind huh?" asked Xin thoughtfully. "The Raven Wind, while mercenaries, is an honorable group. They were the ones that turned the tide for me in Wuzhong, refusing to assist Xue Jin after his underhanded attempt at my life. It was at my request that they assault Nanjung this month, for they have no love for the Qin either. I will be entering Changsha in full force next month. Pang Li seems like a reasonable individual and I'm confident you will be able to help him see the truth of the present matter. Otherwise, if he continues to support the Qin-loyalist, I fear greater conflict may result."

The guards at the mansion see the pair and one of them says, "After a brief search, Marquis Yi will see you."

Assuming that it's ok to search, Guang Yi is brought into the Audience Hall, where Yi Lian is. Looking at the two, she smiled and said, "Master Guang, it's good that you have replied to my invitation. I want to thank you for that. May I interest you in food or drink?"

Yi Lian nodded. "When I first entered Jiujiang, my hope was that we would not be in conflict. If indeed that he is supporting a Qin-loyalist, our friendship would be very difficult."

"As for next month, I wish you good luck. I will most likely be making sure that my home is well taken care of. I don't expect you to have too much problem down south. But if you do have a problem, don't hesitate to contact me."

At this time, a messenger enters and whispers to Yi Lian. She smiled and says to Lin Xin, "It appears that Gao Tong and Pang Ai have successfully captured the city of Zhu. We have an ally in the city of Zhu. Your campaign in Changsha has just taken a huge step forward."

Guang Yi agrees to the search and is brought before the woman. He looks a bit surprised but did not show it on his face. Guang Guo also steps forward as they bowed together. Yi takes the lead again. "Lady Yi, thanks for inviting us. We appreciate your hospitality, but we wish to get right to the point. Why have you invited us here?"
