"The land is in upheaval, as is plain for all to see. The Princes of Qin have taken what their father built and smashed it as a pot upon stone. The rebellion by the King of Chu, and the subsequent rebellion by his subject, the King of Zhao, have made things more complicated. Of immediate concern to those of us in the north, however, is the disorder in Yan and the rise of the ambitious magistrates.
I count Fei Lak amongst my friends, but he and those who follow him are not handling the land of Yan well. In Changshan, the village chieftain Xiong Xushou has corrupted the people to overthrow a longstanding and much loved governor so that he could claim his post. The massive armies of Wu Chen sit on the doorstep, and still the other magistrates sit and wait. It is not a pleasant time in our country."
OOC: Sorry for the slight delay, I had my first day of College today. ^.^
Yiye Shan nodded at the grim words of the man before him. He spoke of the other men who had risen in power throughout the north on a rather bad note. He was no exception to the rule, he too had his mistakes and weaknesses, but he was determined. Speaking on a confident tone, Yiye Shan replied to the man. "I will take your words about the other lords of the north in consideration, but I will not judge them solely on your words nor on their actions in these dire times. I will not tell you that I am different and better than them, for even I know not if it is the truth. I am but an humble lord who has attracted many followers and who has as a goal to restore unity and peace to the land."
He paused there and looked down a bit. "I have no rank nor fame, I have no name nor face, but I have a dream and am determined to realize it. I want to end this chaos, I don't want the father sof young men and women slaughtered before their very eyes." He paused there again, before rising his eyes to look at Jin Kai again.
"I don't want children to grow in constant fear, watching the land tear apart and have their villages burn by boiling rivers of blood. I want to promise the youth of the future A scythe to cut the harvest and wheelbarrows to carry the food to the table of their family rather than swords and spears covered in the blood of their brothers." Yiye Shan had clenched his fists sometime during his speech. His eyes burning with passion, he ended the long flow of wordson a more hopeful note. "I am no better than the next man, but I intend to breathe, live and die for this dream to come true... and should I need to deny my soul entry to the eternal springs for it to be realized, I shall do it without hesitation, so I may look up at the souls of the men and women whose lives will have been spared by my actions."
XM sent me; he said "Stop asking me if I have a blog or podcast. I have no idea who you are."
