For several a second the Prefect of Wuzhong stood before that woman, a slight smile played across those slim lips as his fingers lay crossed before him. "How could I insure you I truly mean to keep the province at Yue at peace Mistress Li? I need no proof except for my research for with every mile and village passed through countless pieces of potential breakthroughs is shattered and destroyed. A marching army alone could destroy a wild land which may in fact hold the key ingredient without so much as a thought and I never to know it. I seek for little military action outside of the fortification of our fair province while using the resources from it to both pave the path for the people's vitality and to continue my research." Shoumin began before pausing, a hand momentarily raising to his lips.
Yet it was softly chuckling he lowered his hand and shook his head, "As for your question though... I could merely hope that my words would possibly pacify your worries. Yet I am not as foolish as to claim that warfare shall never be a factor for it is all around is others raise to positions of power wishing to fuel their own ambitions. I hope that our natural defenses of the swamplands and volleys would be enough to persuade them to ignore our fair land, yet should our fair land become molested by another's ambitions... I would gladly bring a end to their life while attempting to save as many of our own and theirs in the process." Shoumin cooed before chuckling once more. "Plus with so much influence as yourself Mistress Li... I would imagine it a easy feat to persuade those who turned over their city to you to perform such a act again if I needlessly marched to war and death."

(OOC: sorry for short RP. Been busy so far.)
The young Qiao's eyes turned bright as she heard the reply from the lord of Wuzhong. Such a strong determination she could sense from this young lord. She replied to lord Xue with smoother tond.
"I hope that a noble and trustworthy ruler such as you would keep your word that you said today, my lord. I humbly apologize you for my insolent action so far. From now on, I promise to use my meager skills to aid you and your force, for the peace of the people in Yue and beyond."
Li Qiao then bowed to her new master, waiting for his further command to be carried out.

With a faint smile upon those slim lips he gazed upon the woman before him, a unclothed hand slowly extending forward as if to take that of the woman's should she of been willing to take it. Yet it was gazing upon her with those dark brown eyes he couldn't help yet frown ever so slightly, "Mistress Li... surely I would not entrust the people of Guiji to you should I believe you of meager skill or virtue. For a man of virtue who lacks skill can be almost as damaging as the most corrupt yet talented of despots. Yet Mistress Li, it is within your name and your calling I must ask of you to pursue taking the city of Guiji. To remain as it's administrator with me but a torchbearer of your tidings, providing both my support and military within your name while you serve both your people and I. Please stay within my city until you are ready, my servants shall treat you as respectfully as they would any guest within my court... and only when you are ready to move upon the city of Guiji should you, and from there we shall discuss both the actions of our united future for peace."

The young Qiao took her lord's hand and stood up with a smile.
"Thank you for giving me a chance to pursue my goal, my lord. No matter if I would be able to seize Guiji or not, I shall do my best for the sake of our goal."

He had been home for one blissful week, an entire seven days of nothing but happiness. He so loved his home, and the beauty that lived within. He felt pity for other men, for they were not as lucky as he. For that entire week, he had been in the warm, loving embrace of his beautiful Na. She lovingly cared for him, stroked his hair, whispered sweet nothings to him, as he did the same to her. She was thrilled to know that he was desired, not just by lords, but Kings! The fact that he belonged to her, excited her even more. He knew this, and loved her for it all the more. It had only been seven days though, before he was pulled away once more.
This time, it had been from a lord nearby. A new man, by the name of Xue Jin, sought him out. He was not from Yue, from the look of his message and the box that it came in, he was from Chu. Huo Xing had not heard too much about him, other than he had seized power in Wuzhong. Huo Xing had cared little for the actions of local politics, he was not concerned with the downfall of the Qin governors, and as such, he did not know much about this man. And yet, what troubled him, was that this man managed to find out an awful lot about him. This man, had managed to weave his way through Huo Xing's carefully placed safeguards, bribes, and paid naysayers, to find out some of the truth that was Huo Xing. This warranted his attention, this Xue Jin was a crafty sort.
As such, even though he was living the best days of his life, Huo Xing had to leave. Parting was quite painful, Na's eyes looked longingly after him as he went down the road at the head of his guard. He too, looked back to her, until he could no longer see his own home in the setting of the sun. Oh, what cruel webs fate weaves for those who desire greatness. However, he continued on.
The journey to Wuzhong, thankfully, was not a very long one. No doubt, it was the shortest journey he had undertaken in these past few months, only a matter of days, as opposed to weeks and months! The city was abuzz with activity, news of pending war was on the tip of everyones tongue. However, none of this mattered to Huo Xing, he would be in and out before a single drop of blood was spilled. He approached the administrative center, dispersing his guardsmen to various inns to rest while he went on ahead. With him came his five most trusted men, and only five. When he arrived at the palisade, he continued right along, stopping at the entrance bridge. He then looked to the guardsmen on duty and smiled to them, "Greetings gentlemen, I am Huo Xing. Your lord has invited me to speak with him, I have his letter here," he said, producing the scroll bearing the official seal from his robes, "I would like to speak to him, as soon as possible preferably. And do not worry about my men, they can wait outside."

Violet: (Good to have you in the force and added to PH. Post in there so I have confirmation of you having it or PM me telling me otherwise.)
Brother Dun:
It was a robed man and his small entourage began to approach that bridge only to start to cross that bridge which connected the Administrative Center to that of the Grand Exchange, those three figures which had been sitting around that small table laughing and talking as they ate a small lunch of bread and wine was left to momentarily grow still. The figure which sat upon that far end of the table gave but a few waves of his hand however as he rose before softly saying, "Please keep enjoying yourselves. It won't be but a minute." he softly commented before raising.
Allowing a hand to run down the course of his brown robes, cleaning off any crumbs of bread which had fallen upon his shirt, and adjusting that sheathed Jian upon his hip he slowly strode forth and allowed his head to roll forward. Hands coming before him, right hand curled into a fist while his left cupped it, he took up a formal military bow he maintained till the man had had drawn close. "Good day sir." the receptionist softly commented before allowing the man to speak, only then raising his gaze to meet that of Lord Huo Xing's. Momentarily pausing as his brain rolled over that list, which he dare not openly take out and look over in the presence of his Lord's guest, the robed attendant couldn't help but give a slight smile as eventually the name came to mind. Surely this man must of had a fleet footed mount or quite a small distance for but a few days ago that name had came to lay upon that list... or had he perhaps expected that invitation from his Lord to have traveled with that of a escort as well?
Retiring his thoughts for the matter upon hand the robed attendant looked over the man's form and then that of his compatriots for that of a visible weapon, only for if one was to be found for him to politely coo for it to be handed over, before giving a slight bow of his head. "Lord Huo Xing I am sure my Lord would be happy to receive you, while I am twice as sure he would happily host your men within the waiting chambers of the audience hall so that they may not be forced to endure the open weather and chill. Should you hold no barring against my Lord's hospitality, I would happily lead you to meet with him. That is if you still desire of course." the robed minister cooed.

Huo Xing studied the man who approached him from across the bridge. The man had been apparently eating, as his brushed at his chest and robes. The man did have an air of command about him. Once the man spoke, Huo Xing noted that Xue Jin was the first lord to offer hospitality for his small escort. He smiled at this, as did his men. They certainly wouldn't mind some hospitality. "Of course, please, lead the way," he said to the robed man.

It was the moment right before the city of Wuzhong fell before Lin Xin's army. Everyone in the city hall under Xue Jin's command ran here and there, packing things up and ready to escape from their doom if they chose to remain in the city. Perhaps due to a mess in the hall, nobody would be calm enough to spot that Li Qiao was not there anymore. The only thing left at her working desk was a letter to the soon-to-be former governor of Wuzhong, Xue Jin.
(Li Qiao had left Xue Jin's force!!)Li Qiao wrote: To lord Xue Jin,
I apologize for not informing you in person. I regret to tell you that now that you have lost Wuzhong, I would not be able to stand by your side any more. In fact, I must confess that I even did not intend to be your officer at first. My lord, do you remember how you forced me to become your officer? As I said, I do not fear death, but I fear that the future of Yue would be perished by the hand of tyrant. By the moment that you used force to threaten me to submit to you, I did realize that I would not allow the city of Guiji and Wuzhong to fall under you, for the sake of the people. I indeed intended to join Lin Xin no matter how my attempt to seize Guiji succeeds or not.
Lord Xue, you have the right to disgust me as a traitor, but I beg you to think about it. How should you call me a traitor when you and your armed guard forced me to be with you? A promise would not be called as a promise unless it was made from heart. Lord Xue, I may not need to remind you how many times that your friends and your comrades have turned their back against you, may I? I beg you to think that it was because of your unfortunate luck to have such trachearous people around you, or is it was your own self-centric, personal attitude that has costed you your army, your city, and even the life of your bodyguard? I do not need any answer from that, as we may not meet again. However, I do wish that you would have a peaceful new life somewhere, but not as a governer of Yue people.
Sincerely yours,
Li Qiao
