Re: Other Game Discussion
Thanks, Kymvir. I ordered parts last night and ended up going with a much nicer Asus board. Oh, and PS3s ARE evil.
I'm not going with more RAM because I don't own a 64-bit operating system and don't want to spend the extra cash on one--maybe in a year or two if windows 7 seems ok.

Re: Book Discussion
Ohh. Well, I think movie adaptations of books generally suck and game adaptations of movies usually suck, too. It is too bad really, because you always think "gee, this would make a great game/movie" when reading a book.

Re: Other Game Discussion
I haven't had time for any games recently. Well, I hosted a LAN party a few weeks ago, but we just played warcraft 3 mods like DoTA, battle tanks, etc. all day. Between work, classes, and being really sick the past week I've been busy. I am about to buy a new computer though, which makes me very hap...

Re: Book Discussion
I have wanted to read "Team of Rivals". Heard it is really interesting. Last week I remembered the old Black Cauldron video game that Sierra made way back when and did some searching. I always liked the story, so I went to the library and got The Chronicles of Prydain, the 5-book series b...

Re: OOC Thread V4 (prequel)
Hmm. I really like the look of the layout--it feels very professional or something. I'm having a really hard time telling new threads/posts from old ones, even though they are a different color.

Re: Book Discussion
Here's an FYI: Don't read Joe Abercrombie's First Law series--it is horrid. The first book turns out decent, so it fools you into reading the second, which makes you think that maybe this series is so bad after all, but don't bother with it because the last books ends in the worst way possible. I ca...

Re: Book Discussion
I haven't read those, I'm not much of a fan of sci-fi. Anyone else read any Brandon Sanderson? I wanted to see what his writing style was because he is finished the Wheel of Time, so I Elantris and the Mistborn trilogy. Elantris was alright. The basic plot is neat (doesn't everyone wonder why fantas...

Re: Book Discussion
Yeah, but somehow the rest of the books are all a LOT better. I think I read somewhere that he wrote the first book like 7 years before he started the second or something, which might account for it. I guess I could list some explanations for some of your complaints, but suffice to say that they wou...

Re: Book Discussion
Sorry, can't help you Charlemagne. I have been reading the Tales of the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson (8/10 are released) and have been enjoying it. The first book is by far the worst, which is why I imagine the series isn't as popular as it should be. The author doesn't really...
