Kzzzt!

There was a flash of lightning and he appeared at the outskirts of a village. Holding his head with one hand, he stumbles around inquiring for the whereabouts of the Kian tribe. He had heard some pretty interesting rumours coming from these lands. A mighty army of over a hundred thousand northerners coming over to battle and the Kian asking for help. The prospect of battling such a large foe excited him and so there he was with a staff in hand ready for some adventure and glory.

Wu Zenmi had always wondered what so great about Great Northern Walls Hmm I wonder... and decided to head on out and take a look see. It'll be a nice change of scenario, maybe I should bring on back some souvenirs or something.

As time passes, Wu Zenmi finally arrived WOW~ this is huge~ he gasped in awe and glee like a little distracted child. I wonder what's on the other side he thought. eh who are they he noticed a few people rummaging by the far wall shortly followed by a few riders what's going on over there <scratches head> being the curious and adventurous man he is, Wu Zenmi rode on after them but could not catch up so he bellowed "Hey, hey where you heading" the tail rider responded "To help the Kian" Kian? who are they he thought interesting, well since I'm here already maybe I should also lend a hand so bellowed "Do need another hand" and heard "good, the more the better" <grins> it'll also an opportunity to view further and not get lost and thus Wu Zenmi volunteered and rode onward.

Character Name: Li Zongren
Stats: 77-17-98*-88-20
Skills: Artisan I, Civil Administrator II, Cover II, Discipline II, Doctor, Escort II, Scribe II, Trainer I
Items: +5 Spd horse, Cryptical Book of Hsan Vol. 1 (+3 Intelligence), Cryptical Book of Hsan Vol. 3 (+3 Intelligence)

Li Zongren hailed from the south, almost as remote as one could be from the Great Northern Wall. Yet he could well sympathize with the beleaguered tribesmen. As his own lord took ill and the kingdom crumbled under the onslaughts of various rivals, perhaps here lay a chance to win renown and accomplish a greater good in service of all the sad and war-torn lands of China.
"My name is Li Zongren: physician, scholar, and leader of men. My specialty lies in the employment of cover fire, and in maintaining proper fighting order in the troops. Although I daresay having a physician or two among us may prove wise, before this is finished."

Ba Rong, being a man of position, in this day and age, had heard of the plight of the Kian tribe and had taken some well-earned time off after the successful campaign in Yong to try and help these people out. While he had little love for the Qin or the people that bowed to their will, he certainly understood that to leave such an ally in a lurch against the other barbarian tribes would be stupidity: after all, after the other barbarians were done with the Kian tribe, they would certainly turn their sights on the Middle Kingdom next. Not wanting to see such a thing happen, he set off in secret across the lands to find the tribe of the Kian. Once he found them, he hoped that he could give them as much of a boost to their efforts as he could, but still had his doubts: after all, if the rumors of 100,000 Xiongnu barbarians near the great wall were ready to strike were to be believed, this would not be a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination.

He could only hope that he would make it through alive--and compensated, of course.

Urk.. I noticed a pretty stupid mistake on my own part. When rolling the original ten, I accidentally &*$& up.

These were my numbers rolled: 11, 12, 14, 7, 6, 3, 2, 1, 9 ,10

As you may see, Lin Yue made it into the quest despite his number being 8.
8) Lin Yue (Royalspork)
Due to my mistake and my desire to not short hand player number 10, or Rebel, I will be allowing him to join the quest. However, he will not be replacing Spork. Rebel will be added in as an 11th player who.. well, still gets to participate! I am not removing Royalspork because Royalspork has already put in work for the quest and has been elected the quest leader.

An army of over one hundred thousand men supposedly prepared beyond The Great Northern Wall. An army of experienced veterans loyal to a single man who threatened to unite the northern tribes underneath a single banner. It was an army loyal to the fabled Xiong-Nu chieftain, Modu Chanyu. Yet, a single barrier laid between Modu Chanyu's armies and The Great Northern Wall. A single barrier known as the Kian people. A tribe of loosely people who once fought for the Qin Dynasty and served as the Qin's defenders of The Great Northern Wall. Yet, it was a barrier which meant little in the face of Modu Chanyu's armies.

In a desperate gambit, seven horsemen was sent across China as messengers from the Kian people. These seven horsemen brought with them the tales of Modu Chanyu's armies and the plight of the Kian people. The seven horsemen brought the tales of how the Kian would stand once more against the Xiong-Nu and how they would attempt to hold The Great Northern Wall as they had for for almost a decade. It was a desperate plea and a plea that fell silent upon the ears of the masses and most of the warlords of China. Yet, it was a plea answered by eleven figures of countless talent and skill.

With them came a new hope to the Kian people. With these eleven men came reinforcements, mercenaries and recruits from their homeland who dared fight against Modu Chanyu's horde. Yet, a question remained. Would it be enough to defeat the Xiong-Nu?

It was a question quickly brought to the test. Within the week of the Kian tribe's reinforcement, word reached their elders from the Kian's scouts. The scouts proclaimed a large host of light cavalry had been sent ahead by Modu Chanyu as a vanguard. The scouts explained that it seemed the vanguard had been sent to find a proper staging ground from Modu's grand army. By the end of the night, a decision had been made. The Kian people would stage an assault against the scouts and chase them out of the Kian's lands. It was the first stand of that desperate battle of the wall... But, would it be their last?

Yet, before the battle lines was even drawn, the battle had begun. The vanguard of the Xiong-Nu had broke camp almost three miles from The Great Northern Wall and the camps of the Kian tribe. Settled beside a flowing river that would easily provide water for the approaching armies, the vanguard had seemingly dug in and prepared themselves to hold their position. A light camp had been established with only the slightest of sentries. The vanguard's general, Ai Tsao, had expected little trouble and had allowed his men to relax. It proved their own undoing as two cloaked figures slid into the vanguard's ranks. By morning's break, disaster had been sewn throughout the vanguard's ranks. A grinning chef with a sharp tongue and plenty of wit had served out a surprisingly tasty meal. A soup of salted meat and vegetables which became a grand hit amongst a section of the camp. Yet, it seemed the meat the chef had served was rotten or poisoned. Even as a cry went up for guards to find the chef and to arrest him, nearly two thousand men lay dead or vomiting within their tents. The chef was never found however and rumor was left to spread. It seemed a section of warriors had heard of this before. Hin Wu's poison is successful! In soft tones they whispered that the Kian people was blessed by the Heavens themselves. That spirits rove the lands and blighted their enemies with sickness and disease. It was a tale taken with a hint of grit, yet, it served to properly rattle a few of the vanguard's lot. Ding Yi's Propaganda is successful!
