The Seaside Scholar

Located a short way down the river from Nanjing, is the home and business of Li Zongren. Away from the bustle and distraction or urban life, he works feverishly writing strange manuscripts. For the right price, valuable books can be found here.

Books are priced according to the level of difficulty involved in writing them, and on how quickly they are to be completed. Li Zongren is accustomed to writing at a pace that skirts the borders of sanity, and will not waste precious time on trivial tasks. A request for a +1 Book to be written over several months, for example, will be summarily rejected. If orders become backlogged, priority is generally given to the fastest and most difficult works.

Completed in one month:
+3 Book ~ 220 taels
+4 Book ~ 350 taels
+5 Book ~ 610 taels
+6 Book ~ 930 taels
+7 Book ~ 1400 taels
+8 Book ~ 2050 taels

Completed in two months:
+5 Book ~ 535 taels
+6 Book ~ 750 taels
+7 Book ~ 1050 taels
+8 Book ~ 1475 taels
+9 Book ~ 2150 taels

Completed in three months:
+7 Book ~ 940 taels
+8 Book ~ 1260 taels
+9 Book ~ 1750 taels

Completed in four months:
+9 Book ~ 1550 taels
+10 Book ~ 2250 taels

Hu Zhe approaches the building that houses the seaside scholar, and bows to the man.

"Hello, I would like to see if I could place an order for a +4 Judgement book that would be completed over 2 months. It would be for a friend of mine, a Secretary Xu of Chu. He did not have the time to come all the way down here himself, but he does have the money required."

Hu Zhe places 235 gold on the table.

"I am currently in the middle of a book, so the earliest I can begin would be in June. Is that acceptable?"

OOC: alas, there's no way to abort a work in progress. What I can do, is write the +4 book during the June & July PT. If you want, you can wait until June to pay for it, although if you pay now you'll secure your place in the queue.
Edit: added a workload section to the shop information, so that you the customers can see what's up.

Hu Zhe nodded in understanding.

"There is no immediate hurry. I will leave the money here so that you may get to it whenever possible."

Order accepted!

If order backlogs or any other circumstances force a delay of 1 month in your order you will be refunded 15 gold in July, and the book would be completed in August as if you had ordered a 3-month time frame. (I don't expect that will happen, but Li Zongren is a physician too, and well, you never know how that will go...)

Ma Su arrived in a shop in a hurry. It seemed he was always in a hurry when he was at a shop, eager to be on his way somewhere else. He approached the house and went in, looking around for the scholar. Once he found him, he said

"An honor, Master Li. I am looking to reserve a spot for you to craft a book or two on commanding men, is that possible?"

"You may indeed reserve such a book as early as August, for the right price:"
Completed in August: 295 taels.
Completed in September: 235 taels.
Completed in October: 220 taels.

OOC: refer to the price list and current work load. I can start your book in August and finish in 1 month for 295 gold, or finish it in September for 235 gold, etc. Your place in the queue is determined by when you choose to pay for the work. You could wait until August to pay, since that's when the work actually would begin, but if somebody else placed an order between now and then (and paid for it) they would be ahead of you in the queue.

OOC: I'd like my book to be called "The Administration of the Zhou Dynasty", if possible. Not that it makes much of a difference.

Xu Lei's book now has an in-character title.

Li Jiacheng has placed orders keeping the shop busy until the next year. That sure didn't take long...
