Morning Trapping the Lake Front

Tianshi rouses Lin and Cho well before dawn, intent on getting an early day to this hunt. Ignoring their hateful glares, they eat as they head towards the lake. The plan is simple, set some traps early in the hopes of catching some dumb animal attempting to get a drink. They worked quickly and quietly, setting some snares along noticable trails and digging a small pit, which they filled with sharpened stakes. Closer to shore, they used the more improved traps recently purchased in town, covering them when possible with leaves and loose dirt

Afternoon Investigate Rumors in the foothills

Heading off to the foothills before dark, Tianshi brings Lin and Cho with him more to keep him company. he didn't think they would be too keen on finding this creature they where stalking, but he was sure they would be happy to be rid of it. The three set off to try and find any more clues as to where it might be before they tried to take it down that very night. Signs of kills, both old and fresh would be helpful, as well as a part of the foothills devoid of any minor life. Small animals usually didn't hang out around vicious beasts, but birds would to scavenge from any kill they may have left over. Keeping their eyes to the sky, they looked for any circling carrion eaters.

Evening Ambush Foothills, with Bait!

Feeling confident, Tianshi found a suitable place to set a proper ambush. He would put Lin and Cho up above the ambush sight on a rocky outcropping, armed with rocks to distract the beast. Tianshi himself set the bait, splashing some of the blood from the buck he killed last night. Placing himself upwind of the bait, to keep his smell from scaring anything off. Crouching and concealing himself as best he could, Tianshi took a new grip on his spear and knife, ready to strike the moment an oppurtinity presented itself

Night Stalking the Foothills by torchlight.

Cho and Lin light new torches, and breathed a sigh of relief. Their part in this hunt was almost over, and they had made pretty decent money too. Looking to Tianshi to start, the three of them took off at a trot in the foothills, looking for prey. They where especially wary of the beast that was supposed to be in these hills at nightfall, but they kept their pace even, atleast partially convinced Tianshi would be able to protect them.

Xingtu was furious at the humiliation he'd suffered the day before. Overwhelmed by boars in the foothills, and a magnificent prize slipping from his grasp - it was intolerable, and it would not stand. He woke not long past Dawn and, after a quick meal, set into town to purchase several torches. If he wanted to win, he'd have to be out as long as he could... and that meant stalking his prey by night.

First, however, he would scout the area around the lake. He would need to learn the lay of the land if he wanted to hunt at night, and so he spent most of the day exploring, taking mental notes and leaving small markers for him to navigate by. His work would take him until the sun began to sink toward the horizon, when he finally was ready to devote his energies to the hunt.

Zhuwen was pissed. Pissed that he had wasted the night unable to find anything in the caves and got only a few hours of sleep. He was so pissed that he decided.... TO GO AGAIN in the morning. Hopefully, having gone before, his knowledge of the cave was better and Zhuwen's search would be more fruitful.

Having no luck with the Woods, only having a small rabbit, Zhuwend decided he would take the advice given by the locals and set some traps near the Lake. Catching a deer wasn't so bad, catching a tiger would be awesome.

Whatever result would come from the afternoon, Zhuwen still wished to try his luck with tigers again in the Woods. He decided to stalk the area and find some prey. And then even more inclined to find a tiger, he then began a stalk trip to the Lake.

Day 2 Results:

Xiang Zhuang
Morning: Damning the ecosystem, Fáng Ai storms out into the woods and quickly stumbles across a brace of foxes. Quickly chasing one of them down, he manages to slaughter it!
Afternoon: With his new fox skin hat in tow, Fáng Ai continues his murderous rampage and stumbles across a large boar! Leaping onto its back, he quickly proceeds to bite and maul the wild boar! However, in the wake of his blood lust, he could only wonder just how he managed to kill it..
Evening: With his new fox skin hat settled upon his brow, a properly mauled boar across his shoulders, and a unquenchable blood thirst in tow, Fáng Ai continues his murderous romp through the woods and comes across another boar! Deciding it would be best to use his sword this time, he charges the boar and quickly tries to butcher it. However, he quickly learns that apparently his teeth is more effective and he is forced to retreat and plot his next mauling!

Arkain Hibiki
Morning: Tie Yi Tianshi returns after a few hours and discovers his trap has been sprung! Rushing forward, he can only scowl as he discovers a baby deer pierced upon the spikes. To small!
Afternoon: Tie Yi Tianshi once more investigates the rumors surrounding the beast, but, quickly finds himself without a proper lead!
Evening: Tie Yi Tianshi prepares a ambush and lays in wait. Eventually a large wild boar comes to investigate the smell and Tie Yi Tianshi charges the boar! However, he quickly discovers it was a horrible mistake and retreats! But, not without a nasty gash on their booty! Minor Wound gained! Critical failure!
Night: Ignoring the gash upon his rear, Tie Yi Tianshi stalks the foothills with a vengeance. He comes across a rather large boar with a piece of cloth attached to his tusk and descends upon it in a fury! However, the boar once more manages to chase him off! At least this time he didn't get wounded!

Morning: Confirmed!
Afternoon: Kang Xingtu scouts the local lake and gets a relative idea on its layout!
Evening: Kang Xingtu stalks the lake and sadly does not encounter anything!
Night: Kang Xingtu continues to stalk the lake and sadly begins to return to his lodging at the village for the night without any success. However, Kang Xingtu paused as he heard something within the bushes. Drawing his axe, Kang Xingtu approached the bushes and parted them to get a good look at what lay within. Only, to discover a baby tiger. Grinning, Kang Xingtu raised his axe and prepared a fatal blow only to hear a roar behind him. Paling, Kang Xingtu began to run as momma chased him down and finally pounced on him. After a life threatening struggle that left him bloodied and bruised, Kang Xingtu finally manages to push away the tiger and runs back to the village. Major Wound gained! Super Duper Critical Failure!

Morning: Liang Zhuwen decides to return to the caves and investigates them. While investigating, Liang Zhuwen came across what seemed to be a tattered package. Reaching for it, he quickly discovered there was a hand attached! After screaming like a little girl and fainting, Liang Zhuwen awakens and throws away the icky hand before opening the package. Inside he finds twelve gold!
Afternoon: Liang Zhuwen decides to set some traps near the lake and returns after a few hours. He finds a wolf within his trap and quickly kills it before claiming another trophy!
Evening: Liang Zhuwen decides to stalk the woods and hunt down a fierce tiger! Much to his disappointment, Liang Zhuwen comes across another rabbit which he decides to simply ignore.
Night: Liang Zhuwen stalks the woods with little success! He comes across and kills a dragonfly! Congratulations?..

Xingtu wouldn't let himself be driven off by one lousy tiger. The man was beyond furious - he was half-mad with rage, sending hapless peasants flying ahead of him where he stormed through the village, nearly riding the slower ones down in his rush to return to the Lake. His wounds could hardly be said to be treated, wrapped only in bandages that were crimson with the blood they'd soaked up.

But he didn't care. He didn't even feel the pain - he only felt the rage, and the determination. He'd kill that tiger if it was the last thing he did in his life. He'd hunt it down in its home and kill its babies in front of it, even. And if that didn't work, he'd wait for it in the spot it attacked him from... and the situation would be reversed.

Morning Buying 2x Torches, hiring Guides for a day, and renting houds for 2 days -30 Gold

Waking up in the village, and still feeling the affects of his previous nights injury, Tianshi decided he would still need Lin and Cho's help. Before heading out, he tied a makeshift bandage around his injury the best he could, attempting to maintain dignity while tying something around his backside. Purchasing a few more supplies, and telling the local Kennel Master to keep some hounds ready for the next few days, Tianshi winces slightly as he heads back out.

Afternoon Stalk Lake

Tianshi decided to start the day off easy. Head to the lake and slowly attempt to stalk the bushes. It was getting close to the end of the trial, and Tianshi knew if he couldn't win with quality, he would have to try for quantity. Hoping he would be able to find the mother, or even father, of the small deer he killed yesterday, the three set off to beat the bushes, so to speak.

Evening Stalk Foothills

Not wishing to give up the only advantage he had, Tianshi returned to the scene of his recent defeats, and try once again. Feeling his previous misfortune would turn into tomorrows fortune, he decided to put his faith in the hunt, and let himself be lead by his instincts. Cho and Lin followed much more nervously, remembering what happened the last time he was in these hills

Returning to the same woods he had hunted and killed in before, Tianshi was hoping for another good dispaly. Choosing a slightly different spot then his previous kill, Tianshi again stalked the woods at a trot, his pace slightly hampered by the hastily treated wound.

Zhuwend grumbled a bit as he got up in the morning. He seemed not to have much luck with what he was seeking, although most would probably actually think it the other way around. He rubbed his chin at what to do for the day... The caves didn't seem to offer anything much, perhaps he would do something else. Deciding to catch prey differently, Zhuwen decided to try and use the bait he had bought for an ambush at the Woods in the morning.

And the stubborn bastard Zhuwen was, he decided this time he would scout the Woods first in the afternoon. He was mostly looking for the tigers, but of course took any other tracks that seemed good.

At night, Zhuwen once again stalked the Woods and attempted to use any new knowledge he possibly got from the afternoon. After the stalk, he went back to the village, going to the local tavern to party and hit on women. Oh and, to investigate about the monster of Chai, but mostly PARTY!

(OOC: Hopefully the RP won't affect the results but... Oh well, going in character for Zhuwen. =p)

Pretty happy with his previous effort, the White Lion again took to the woods morning, noon, and night. He believed his knowledge from before was still helpful, and so he put it to use. Boars were nothing to laugh at, but what pig can stand up against a lion?

Morning: Scouts the lake and discovers a few game trails! However, he finds no trace of the tigers..
Afternoon: However.. he eventually comes across a bloody scrap of his shirt from the night before. Grinning, he approaches the bush and hears noise within. Oh ho! This time he was ready. Jumping forward, he lands in the bush and quickly strangles something to death. Jumping forth, ready to fight mama, he is severely disappointed when the tiger never shows up.. and he finds a strangled squirrel in his hands.
Evening: Kicking stones in his anger, Kang Xingtu continues to explore the lake. Eventually, he comes across what seems to be something behind a rock. Gripping his axe, Kang Xingtu runs forward and leaps into action. His blood lust taking over, Kang Xingtu makes quick work of his prey.. only to discover he had killed a fawn.
Night: Scowling at his failures to find the tiger, Kang Xingtu sets a trap and waits for nightfall. Hiding behind a rock, Kang Xingtu watches his pit trap and screams in girlish delight as he sees something fall in. Rushing forward, Kang Xingtu could only scowl as he found a goat had stumbled across the pit.

Morning: Liang Zhuwen sets traps in the foothills and waits for awhile. Eventually he dozes off to sleep before a loud squeal alerts him. Rushing over to his trap, Liang Zhuwen found a massive boar inside his pit! Grabbing his bow, Liang Zhuwen quickly finished the boar off!
Afternoon: Liang Zhuwen stalks the woods and gets lost! He loses the afternoon and evening.
Evening: Lost in the woods!
Night: Returning home, exhausted and with his boar, Liang Zhuwen investigates into the rumors surrounding a PARTAH!!! However, hears a rumor that the beast supposedly resides within the caves and has become known for dragging its victims back in there.. hey... what about that hand!Oh well.. instead of finding a party, Liang Zhuwen spent the night sewing with a old woman.

Morning: Fáng Ai goes crashing through the woods after the boar and discovers a deer! He quickly dispatches it and claims a trophy, even if a small one.
Afternoon: Fáng Ai, however, quickly stumbles across the father and slays it too!
Evening: Fáng Ai, after a day of slaughtering countless deer, decides to return home. However, as he makes his way back home.. Fáng Ai comes across a tiger! Dun dun dun! In a epic battle of tiger versus tiger, the two put their life upon the line and fought for nearly a hour. Finally, Fáng Ai proved victorious and claimed his greatest prize yet!

"Damn it, not the freakin' caves again..." Zhuwen muttered. The last two expeditions were for interest, this one he felt he was being forced to go. Deciding to go in the afternoon, Zhuwen placed an ambush in the Woods with bait, seeing if he could get anything better than the boar last night.

In the afternoon, Zhuwen went to Caves in search for the rumored beast, wishing this time his search would be more fruitful that the last two.

As night came, Zhuwen left the Caves and decided he would try the Lake and set some traps there. After a hard day's work of hunting and exploring, he decided to change his course to finding the beast instead of tigers (Assuming he failed to find it in his hunts) and investigate more rumors.
