ICP, eh? My friend and brother listen to them a lot, so I've heard plenty of them. I have to admit that they can be rather funny, and some of their songs are ok. I like their cover of Let's Go All The Way a lot. They remind me of Tony Hawk 4, though, since the music was on the XBox and I kept it on that instead of the game's music. And Faygo rules.

I like Collective Soul a good amount as well. I haven't heard anything from them since Dosage, though. I have 3 CD's by them, which is a bit of an oddity, since I typically only have 1-2 CD's by any artist. I think I only have more CD's by Al Denson and U2, heh.

I haven't heard anything from A-Ha besides Take On Me, but that is a good enough song in itself. Same with A Flock of Seagulls; I've only heard I Ran. I have a lot of "greatest hits" miscellaneous CD's from the 80's, so that's typical.

Now a band that I've really grown to appreciate is Toto. I have their greatest hits CD and I love it. Africa, I'll Be Over You, Rosanna, and Hold The Line are all excellent songs, and the rest of the CD isn't too bad, either.

Well, time to talk about people no one else has mentioned! :)

I almost exclusively listen to metal nowadays. My favorite band is Trivium (http://www.trivium.org), who I've been obsessed with for over a year now. Their career has taken off since being signed to Roadrunner Records and they'll be playing at Ozzfest this year so .... everyone will know them. It'll be like the Shadows Fall effect. Speaking of Shadows Fall, I like them alot, too. I also like Dark Tranquillity, 3 Inches of Blood (man that guy has a high voice), Children of Bodom, Nevermore, Blind Guardian, and Pro-Pain. Oh, and I feel I mist mention that I despise Slipknot.

Now then, on to something that -has- been talked about. I actually like The Offspring for some reason. They are the only band that sounds remotely like that and I like. *shrugs* Now, my favorite of their cds is Smash, followed by Ixnay on the Hombre. I also like their self titled cd (very old, but good). I haven't heard Ignition is a decade (probably), but I remember at least one song form it that I liked. Now, I agree that Americana had some very dumb songs on it (Get a Job, Pretty Fly), but other than that I liked the cd. Conspiracy of One sounds pretty different and there are some songs I don't like (Original Prankster, Want You Bad), but overall it's an okay cd. Now then, on to Splinter. Splinter has the most songs out of all their cds that I don't like (Hit That, The Worst Hangover Ever, Da Hui, When You're In Prison), but some of the other songs I really enjoyed in a relaxing way. Those songs redeemed the album somewhat in my mind and I'll listen to them every now and then. I just wish they would go back, back to the days before Americana, when I could listen to and like every single song on the cd!

/rant :P

Wow, I'm actually surprised to hear somebody bring up Trivium.

Personally, I don't care much for metal, but I've come to tolerate it more over these past months. My friends all hate listening to metal, but they all love Trivium because of the guitar solos in the middle of several of their songs. They are pretty impressive.

I recently bought Accendency, yet to listen to it, is it any good? Also are there any gem tracks on there I should look out for?

Yes, go you! A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation definately takes the coolest solo, no doubt about it. Suffocating Sight and Drowned, Torn Asunder are great songs, and Rain, too. Well, all of them are good. When you first hear Dying in Your Arms you will probably go insane, but it grows on you. :P

Firstly, to Fallen Saint.. You are absolutely right... I can't believe I forgot some of those names. Especially Elvis and Rage Against the Machine. Elvis, don't argue the beetles because I can bury that quickly, shaped rock music in its infancy and should be given credit for most of what I listen too today. Also, Are You Lonesome Tonight and Hard Headed Woman are two of my favorite songs ever recorded! As for Rage, they are just incredible! If you ever find any band that sounds like Rage, it is because they are trying their hardest too.... Enough said.

As for the Offspring debate (that I am thrilled to have started). First of all, I am very glad to see there are so many people that appreciate their earlier music. I live in Michigan so I'm like the only old school Offspring fan I've ever met.

Anyways... The first song that ever brought a tear to my eye was the Offspring's song "Pretty Fly for a White Guy". Not because it was well written or emotional, rather because it signified the end of an era.. An era of bands that put effort into writting thought provoking and deep lyrics like other songs from their earlier years(Amazed, I Choose, Come Out and Play, Smash, Kick Him When He's Down, Jennifer Lost the War, etc., etc.).. After the deaths of Kurt Cobain and Brad Nowell, Dexter Holland was pretty much it. Even after hearing some of the decent songs on Americana (Staring at the Sun, Kids Aren't All Right) it just wasn't enough to get me to let them off the hook.

Anyhow, kudos to them anyways for standing up for our right to pirate music!

Am I the only one who is not excited about the Pink Floyd thing? I love Pink Floyd, but there is no reason for a bunch of old men to go out on stage, trying to relive their glory days, and do the job not even half as good as they used too.

Smash and Amazed have always been my favorite songs by The Offspring. In fact, one time when I was in a depressed mood I came extrememly close to balling like a child while listening to Amazed.

Being a giant grunge fan, I must say Nirvana is the second worst of the bands. ...With Pearl Jam being the worst. Kurt Cobain wasn't that impressive (including song writing), just that Nirvana became so much more popular because they would go more mainstream to appeal to the most people. He and the rest of the band recieved a lot of attention. The two most popular of the grunge bands were the two worst.

...And I don't care that much about Pink Floyd getting back together for a concert, or whatever they did. They certainly won't be getting any better, it is just a let down for people who expect more.
