I'm curious which bands you haven't heard of/heard. Beirut for sure, but the others are all pretty well known.

Gong: I've only heard of Faye Wong and Mariah Carey, and I haven't heard any of the songs you have on your list there. I have Mariah Carey's #1's CD, though, so maybe I am just stuck on her early stuff.

Muse and The Arcade Fire are currently my two favorite bands!!!
Intervention is probably the best song I've heard in a long while.

I like Muse - Butterflies and Hurricanes is quite good (anything from Absolution actually)
Not too big a fan of Arcade Fire though.

Did you hear about Faye Wong from Final Fantasy by any chance?
I have all Mariah Carey's albums, yes even the compilation and the remixes album... I am fan, so. heh.
Vision of Love was her first ever song and Touch My Body is the first song from her newest album.
The other songs, well, they're mostly Chinese singers.

Yes. In fact, the only song I have by her is Eyes On Me, which I really like, by the by. I don't really seek out Japanese music as a rule, although I do like some stuff, mostly from video games or anime.

I don't really care for Japanese music, only Namie Amuro... Though she's rude
mainly 'Want me Want me', it mentions 'Trojan' many many times... Yes, refering to the condom brand.

Muse is excellent, though I consider British Music from the 90s onward to be devoid of coherence or redeeming value.
Coldplay? Meh. Oasis? More meh. Radiohead? Definitely meh.
