From just the movies, I'd say Michael Keaton, then much further down George Clooney then Val Kilmer. Val was just too...dry for the role. Clooney wasn't much better, though. Michael Keaton did an excellent job I think. I can't rate Adam West with the rest because he was the original guy. Everyone else is a comparison off of him, heh.

I have no idea who this fellow is playing Batman (I know his name, just never seen him before). However, I have heard a lot of good things as well. I think they are going in the right direction with the Batman thing by making it dark again. The original Batman movie was very dark, which helped its appeal, and is part of the reason why Michael Keaton did such a good job in that role. I hope this Bale guy can give us a good show.

Christian Bale acted in American Psycho and the cult hit Equilberium?. He was the serial killer who lived the life of a yuppie during the day in Psycho. I think he will do a great job as batman. Well..I am hoping anyway.

Michael Keaton was the best Batman actor out of that bunch. Val was better then George imo. Adam West's Batman was too campy for my tastes. And too potbellied as well.

It's not quite batman, but Jack Nicholson as the joker was by far the best villain. That smile... *Shudders*

As in all movies he is in, Jack Nicholson was just playing as himself :) Every movie he's in, he just bases the characters off of his own quirks. Kinda like Robin Williams, although I wouldn't put them in the same category of actors at all.

Well I just got back from Batman Begins and I positively loved it. It was everything I was looking for in a batman movie, the actors were selected brilliantly for the roles. I was a little worried about christian bale's performance as Batman, but he does a great tortured bruce wayne/batman. They also did an excellent job building up the past as well as the very city of gotham.

All in all I thought it could have been quite possibly the best Batman movie yet. However, I am noted for my rather dry tastes and love for things to be serious. One of the friends who I saw it with said his major problem was that it was not campy enough or that it was lacking in the humour department. For me, that was not an issue, but for others the lean towards gritty realism may have been too far.

Just so people know i'd rate the batman movies as follows:

Batman begins, Batman returns, and Batman. I really enjoyed.

I hated the others.

Batman Begins was suppose to be more serious type of film to give it more appeal to a more mature audience. I think it works better than the other more light-hearted films.

I think Batman Begins will be good simply because it will be less comic bookish. Those other movies were just too much. The villians were totally unrealistic, like the clown gang that glow in the dark. hehe.

The characters in this movie seem realistic, and the movie overall just looks good.

If you want to see Christian Bale in a good role, watch "Empire of the Sun." He is a kid in the movie, and goes from a pampered spoiled brat in pre war China to a crafty prisoner of war under Japanese occupation. He is excellent in that movie.

Is it all in English or is it subtitled?

All english. It was made in the 80's I believe. Well, there might be some subtitles when the Japanese guards talk, but I would say 98% of it is all english.
