Zhao Feng stepped forward, bowing to Lin Xin.

"Lord Xin," Zhao addressed him. "I am Zhao Feng, fighter-for-hire. With me are my comrades, Gronchi and Sun Lian. I have heard good things of how you rule your kingdom, and our services have recently become on the market. That is why we have traveled here, first, to offer you our services."

The Marquis had been been working tirelessly throughout the morning and was about to take a break to stroll through the gardens when news of three visitors arrived.

Now that he has been a Marquis for a couple of months, Xin decided to take his public audiences in the actual Audience Hall, rather than his public office. The Audience Hall is much larger with columns lining a carpeted path on either side leading to a raised step, upon which sat his seat. Walking through a side door in his office, Xin entered the audience chamber and took his seat while the guests were announced.

With a nod, the Marquis of Yue says, "Welcome to Yue. I also welcome men and women of talent and, while I give handsome monetary awards for exemplary service, I do not wish my officers to serve solely for personal profit. So, please, tell me, what specifically motivated you to seek employment with me?"

Again, it was Zhao who spoke. "I care little for the politics of this land. As a fighter-for-hire, it is in my job description to serve where the money is best. However, I've heard good things of your rule here. I feel like you are a man I can respect. As long as that does not change and the pay remains acceptable, I will remain loyal to you and your cause, despite any better offers I receive."

Then it was Sun Lian who spoke"I follow Zhao Feng.Where he goes I shall follow.Who hes loyal to I shall be as well. Also good king Ive herd great things of you as well."

The Marquis then stands and bows. "Then I will hold you to your words," he says. "Master Zhao and Lady Sun, welcome to Yue. I know you will bring glory to our people."

((Zhao Feng and Sun Lian join Yue! Post OI here and PH access will be granted. Gronchi will have to RP here and then post in the OI Thread for him to be official.))

On a chilly winter morning on the eve of the new year a small delegation bearing the blue and burgundy banner of Prefect Zhi Cheng of Wu appeared on the doorstep of Lin Xin's capital city of Panyu. Among the small entourage of soldiers was a young scholar, who dismounted from his horse and greeted those guards that were assembled before the administrative building with a practiced bow.

"Greetings, honored servants of the Marquis. I am Bing Xiao, Chief Aide to the Prefect Zhi Cheng of Jiangcheng. I have come to you today on a diplomatic mission to establish formal relations with Lord Lin Xin, the esteemed master of Yue and Changsha."

This is of course after the obligatory search has been conducted. Despite his Lordships good intentions there are, unfortunately, some who would see our Lord harmed if given the opportunity. Not to say that you have such motives, but it would be rather unfair to search some and not others." He realized that his explanation was rather unnecessary, but given the recent accusations concerning Lin's character, he felt compelled to elaborate.

The envoy bowed his head and put his hands together in a gesture of respect to the captain. "Of course, I can assure you I come with only peaceful intentions. I am but a humble scholar and carry no weapons, so I consent to any security protocols you may have. My escort will remain here, as long as you can ensure my personal safety while the guest of the Marquis until our business has been favorably concluded." After speaking his piece, the aide awaited the guards to do their duty and the process of entering the hall proceed apace.

Appreciative that the visitor was happy to comply, the guards quickly proceeded with the formalities before escorting Xiao to the Audience Chamber of the Marquis. After bowing to his Lord the guard announces the envoy before taking his place at the rear of the chamber.

The Marquis smiled as the envoy was entered the Audience Chamber. "Welcome Chief Aide Bing," he said. "How is Prefect Zhi doing? It has been a few months since we last spoke."
