Jin Kai's Audience Hall - Xiangguo

A small regiment comes toward the city of Xiangguo. It bore the flags of the King of Yin. A few broke off to come to the city alone; an attendant and 4 guards. 2 of the guards appeared to be lugging a chest. The attendant saluted the men at the gate of the city and said, "I am an envoy, here on behalf of Xia Wang, may he live forever. I bring the Prefect Xiong good tidings, both in word and monetary form."

Xiong Xushou nodded deeply as the three brothers spoke. With a grim smile, he replied, "The proposal sent by the King of Yin certainly seems a sound one. I have been inclined to accept it; it would not do to insult a powerful man I know little about, anyway." The young man paused, his gaze sweeping back and forth across the three brothers in silence.

"As for your proposal, master Jin," Xushou began after a long sip of warm tea, "I had actually hoped you would consider becoming the Prefect of Quni, as I intend to name myself Governor of Changshan at the new year's festival." The young man leaned back, taking another long sip of his tea.

Xiang Zhuang

The young captain of the city gate stepped forward to greet the envoy from Yin and return the salute. "On behalf of lord Xiong, I bid you welcome. The lord Governor wishes well any servant of Yin. If you would be willing to surrender your weapons and submit to a search, you will be conducted to the Governor immediately."

The brothers all nodded, and Jin Kai spoke. "I will gladly accept the position. My brothers and I will do our utmost for the people of Quni."

The attendant looked at the man oddly. "Search?" he asked, as if he was offended. "The King's envoys do not submit to searches. I possess no weapons, and am the only person who needs to enter. But if you insist upon a search, I will have to leave. Regardless," he gestured to the guards holding the chest, "there is the 300 gold promised to the Prefect of Xiangguo. I would appreciate being able to finish off the rest of my duty without my King's honor being diminished, however."

300 gold has been given to Xiong Xushou from Xia Xi!

((The gold is available to use immediately, as it was in my coffers before this KT.))

A small escort of men can be seen approaching the city, they display the flag of Yan. They make a small encampment 5 Li from the city. A small man escorted by 5 guards enters the city and heads towards the administration offices.

"Good day, Lin Huan here to see your Lord. I represent Marquis Fei Lak of Yan to bring word to our friend and ally. I have no weapons and you may of course search me. My guards shall await for my return here if that is permitted."

Huan awaits the answer of the guards.

A young man with a long elegant man came to the gates of the palace on sunny day and bowed before the guards.

"Hello I am Rou Jang and I wish to speak to your lord about matters of employment. If you would be so kinds please inform him of my arrival."

at that moment he started to take off his weapons( spear, bow arrows and throwing daggers.) and handed them to the guards.

The guards took the weapons and gave the man a cursory check for any that might be hidden on him. When the short search was finished, they addressed him. "Lord Prefect Xiong is unavailable for public meetings at this time. If the matter concerns employment, we can take you to Acting Administrator Jin Kai, who may be able to assist you. Would this be acceptable?"

Lin Huan masks well his surprise but nods.

"Of course, I hope the Prefect is not ill. I will see Master Jin Kai if he is available at this time."

Huan motioned for his escort to wait for him while he conducted his business.

The guards escorted the delegation through the citadel, bypassing the grand audience hall and instead taking them to the administrative wing. They paused before one door, practically indistinguishable from the rest, before standing to either side of it. The guard captain opened the door and announced, "a delegation from Yan is here."

Jin Kai and Wu Bei sat at a table covered in papers and were having a very animated discussion. "...isn't here, though. How do you plan to..." Wu Bei trailed of as the guard entered the room. Jin Kai looked a bit blindsided, but kept his composure well enough to tell the guard-captain, "I guess you can bring the envoy in here. The room is too small for a proper meeting, so you or a couple of guards go entertain whatever else Fei sent." He grumbled to himself, "Little Fei probably sent a battalion of guards with the envoy, no way they would all fit it here."

The guard-captain nodded and stepped back outside. He bowed and addressed Lin Huan. "Master Jin's office is small. You are permitted to enter, but I must ask that your escort stay outside. Master Jin has suggested your men might find a tour of the city enjoyable. Might I suggest two be left here and I might take the rest out for this tour?"
