this period is a few hundred years before the rtk period - Emperor Ling is from the rtk period. Liu Bang becomes the first Han Emperor. He isn't emperor Ling but Emperor Gaozu.

I had initially thought that it was set after the Three Kingdoms period...

Yeah alot of people get that idea when they see the Liu Family name. Heh.

Well this is before it and Liu Bang wants to form his own Dynasty, the Han. While Xiang Yu is doing his own thing like all the other Kings and such. The rest of us mini city owners are just fodder for the clashs.

Yeah. Weather it be a GMNPC or a PC Kingdom. Warlords allows anyone to win if they can successfully gain the backing of other PCs.
