Fi Ran smiled a little and drank more of his tea. "Well, how did you gain your village? I am sure that if I follow that very same guideline then it would mean a success".

He looked at Zun with a little smirk on his face. "I have ability, it's just the lack of funds and men that would be my only downfall".

Liao Zun smiled. "You could say I inherited the village from my father. After he died, the people just started looking to me for answers to disputes and other such things. As you seem to have thought this through I will yield to your judgment. As for funds and men, we are on the same river with that issue. I plan on looking for some more men of talent as well. Perhaps with more help we can secure ourselves and realize or ambitions a bit sooner."

Fi Ran seemed a little disheartened in knowing he couldn't follow Zun's way of gaining control but he took this as a challenge, he knew it wouldn't be easy but gaining control of a village was a must for him after all he was a descendant to a man who guarded the emperor a while back.

"Well following your way would be an impossible one for me to replicate. So I shall carry on my course of action and if all goes well we should be in greater stead and look after one another".

Ran then went back to his cup. "This task will be hard and the risk high....but so too is the reward. To honor my lineage I must do all I can to gain influence in a village and further my name throughout JiBei".

He then drank some looking at Zun at the same time.

"I have no doubt that your drive will help you achieve your goals. I feel we have our tasks in front of us for the time being. Would you care to join me in town for dinner this evening? I was thinking of calling it a day a bit early."

OOC:This is to end the RP unless you have something else to add.

Fi Ran nodded to Zun and finished his cup. "Alright then, I'll move out to continue on with my planning".

He then bowed and turned to leave the building.

"Good luck with your endeavors". With that he left for another time and to complete his plans.

After his trip to Boyang the month before, Liao Zun was making his way to Pingyuan to visit with Lengkui Chang. While his visit with Yu Zhang hadn't gone great, he did learn from the pompous governor that there was a man in Jibei who at least was in good stead with "the common people."

Approaching the gates of Pingyuan Liao Zun asked a guard, "I am Liao Zun. I run a village here in Jibei and have come to Pingyuan to speak with Lengkui Chang about the security of Jibei. Does he have time to speak or could you point me in the right direction to find out?"

The guard points back down the road Liao Zun had come, "Governor Lengkui is an active man. He is not inside the city at the moment. He rode out with a few soldiers to the Sui River an hour ago. I believe he has some sort of construction project he is overseeing there. Take the road about a li south, and then follow the road that splits off to the east. You can't miss the place."

Liao Zun smiled and gave an easy bow, "Thank you for your time." Turning back and following the directions given, Zun comes upon the site. Stopping the first person he can get the attention of he introduces himself, "I am Liao Zun. I was hoping to speak with Governor Lengkui Chang. A guard at the gates of Pingyuan said i could find him here...also, I was wondering what is being erected at this site. I dabble in a bit of engineering myself and was a bit curious.

It was a group of guards that Liao Zun first encountered, standing watch as a group of about fifty laborers were laying a foundation of stone right next to the river. A tall, handsome man was directing them, even stepping in and helping once to shift a stone while Zun watched. The guard captain shrugged.

"It'll be a mill, lord Liao. One moment, and well inform the governor of your presence." A guard stepped away, and a moment later, the governor was striding to meet Liao. He was wearing light armor over silk robes and a blade hung at his waist. "Master Liao, how may I help you? I understand you are a bit of an engineer? There is nothing much to be seen here, this will only be a simple mill - though the people who get to use it will be grateful for its presence, I am sure."

"Governor Lengkui, it is a pleasure to meet you. It is true, what Yu Zhang told me; you are a man of the people. It is refreshing to see a man in such high standing, willing to help out those around him." Zun bowed cordially. "I run a village here in Jibei and while it is not yet to the point of such constructions, I do hope that one day I can use my engineering skills to make it as prosperous as your Pingyuan." Liao Zun looked over at the construction site briefly while trying to choose his words carefully. "The matter I came to talk to you about is the unification and solidification of Jibei. It seems to me that it's just a matter of time before armies march from Chu to seize surrounding provinces, including Jibei. I was worried about the people in my village and was hoping to form a unified front. Yu Zhang of Boyang, whom I met with last month seems to think that everything is fine and there is no cause for alarm. I was wondering what you thought on the matter."
