Caoqun bows respectfully to the Marquis as he takes the signed document. "Thank you Marquis Yi," he said. "You need not fear your southern border as long as Marquis Lin is in power. Together, I hope we can bring a long lasting peace and stability to both our people. If there is nothing else, please excuse me as I must hurry back and deliver this joyous news."

Unless Yi Lian has anything else to say, Caoqun turns and departs back to Yue.

Lu Hou casually examined the engineering of the town and the mansion. He had a grin on his face. When he sees Yi Lian, he was surprised that this woman had been able to rise to power such as she did. He showed his respect.

Hou: Your hospitality extension is appreciated. But I am neither thirsty nor hungry. So I decline. I would like to get to the point, I assume that you invited me here to ask me whether or not I would be employeed by you. While it is an honor for me to be invited, I am looking for someone to serve that is worthy. Let me ask you this, your influence now reaches to three provinces. What is your goal? What are your ambitions?

Yi Lian was glad that this person didn't need the small talk. Even though she'd be happy to oblige, it gets old after a while. So when he asked about what her goals and ambitions are, she did not hesitate. "Easy, my goal is to make sure the Qin empire does not survive, even though I'm in the southeast region, I am working very hard to try to get this through. My ambition as a leader in this region is find the next unifier of this land, and support him, or her to that goal. I do not presume that I am the person who will do so, because I believe that a part of becoming an emperor has to be some sort of destiny. So once I know, I will be in full support of that person."

She paused, wanting to say more. "If you were to join me, Sir Lu, you would be instrumental in becoming part of this movement. A movement that started in this town of Yiling, and has reached neighboring provinces of Wu and Jiujiang. I promise you that I will treat you well. My officers and I celebrate together when there is good news, and we struggle through together when there's bad news. I hope you can be part of this movement."

Yi Tao had heard that another army had been dispatched to another city in Wu. He wasted no time after being informed to come quickly to the Audience Hall of Yi Lian. He is dressed formally and he brought with him a large chest.

Please inform Lady Yi Lian that Yi Tao is here to see her. To deliver what I promised.

Yi Tao waits to be let in.

Yi Tao waits to be let in.

The guards at the gate nodded to one another and performed a thorough search. They took the chest in hand and brought it with him as they escorted Yi Tao into the audience hall. Kiao Xiu, on behalf of Yi Lian, is taking audience, looked at the chest and asked, "Lady Yi Lian currently is meeting with General Jiang Sei, may I ask what you wish to convey to the Marquis?"

Yi Tao was a bit disappointed in not seeing Lady Yi, but no matter. He just wanted to deliver a gift and a message. Any would do.

It's an honor to meet you, Kiao Xiu. I have brought with me the tribute that I promised Lady Yi seasonally. The amount is 150 gold. Next season, we expect to be a little more but since I have only ruled Wujiang for the past month, it's a little low. And the message I wish to convey is to congratulate the Marquis on the successful campaign in Jiangcheng and wish her well in the campaign in Guangling.

Kiao Xiu accepts the gift, and then listening, he smiles a bit. "I will relay your message to the lady and thank you for your gift. Just as an information, the city of Jiangcheng has been handed over to Prefect Zhi Cheng. She is now in charge of that area. If you should need anything, you probably should not hesitate to ask her. She would help you on my behalf."

Lu Hou was impressed by the display put up by this woman. He was convinced indeed. There were no other letters that convinced him, and he was going to stay.
