"Last thing we need barbarian mercenaries joining the fight. We're already outnumbered and those savages are trained killers from birth." Zhang Gao spat in disgust at the mention of barbarians. "A small party should be easy enough to intercept, and if they are hoping to recruit mercenaries, they should have gold or other valuables on them as payment. If we take them, we can use their gold to augment our forces and give us a fighting chance."

Chen Ping nodded at his comrade's suggestion. Chen bore no hatred of barbarians, and in fact, he even respected them. However, he did hate the thought of having to fight against even more enemies!

"I'll go north."

"I'll stick around here with the main group." Feng's gaze remained cast upon the captive prisoner, even with the conversation largely going on beyond him. He was a powerful-looking man, after all, and it wouldn't do to have him break his bonds and try to cause a ruckus. "I'm better served to assist in a larger fight rather than a skirmish, I believe."

Well, that seemed like an arrow dodged, in a sense. While it was clear that he was not the target of this Xiang Chao's malice, the group of heroes was still greatly outnumbered. Hearing the others choices and seeing the hulk of the Jade Falcon going with the main assault, that is where he determined to be safest.

"I will go and support your strike Jiang Bei. Though I request to not be on the front lines, that is by no means my specialty."

Liu Jian looked at the others as they all decided to be a part of the skirmish team, then eyed the prisoner. The malice they held towards Bei didn't make a lot of sense... there had to be more to the story. And there was only one good way to find out...

"I'll roll with you, Bei bro. You need another good strong fightin' bro anyways, and my hammering is plenty good for that. Ya feel me?"

Hu Jintao strokes his chin.

"Intercepting the group would likely be my best option."

The three companions make their way to where Jiang Bei said the first attempt would be. The group was easy to find, they were heading for a pretty big encampment, likely a raiding group. The men were marching towards it with determination, a small escort of 10 men and what look like some kind of transport.

OOC: You are three some you each can choose one action, it can be the same action. The goal is to stop them from reaching the camp. At start, you have 10% chance to do so because you are outnumbered and they are close. Each tactic has a chance to raise that. Some have bigger risk than others. This is a quest, you CANNOT die but you can be kicked out instead.

All rolls have main stat at 1.5 and second at 0.5 / 2 - % indicated. So COM + MIG vs 30% and you have 90 and 50 means 60%
Distract: CHA+JUD vs 30% => Raises chance by 20% BUT you must roll an escape roll MIG+JUD vs 30%
Attack: MIG+COM vs 30% => Raises chance by 25% BUT you could be injured rest of the quest, 10% chance
Ambush: JUD+ING vs 30% => Raises chance by 35% BUT a failure lowers it by 10%
Confront: COM+CHA vs 30%=> Raises chance by 10% each success (roll until failed) up to 40%
Trick : ING+MIG vs 30% =>Raises chance by 15% BUT lose out on 35% spoils from the mission

The others form a group to hit the main camp. Jiang Bei in the lead. Just before arriving, Bei gives final instructions, each is to hit with their own small unit and cause as much damage as possible before retreating. Do NOT get caught, no one will come for you, mission is too important.

OOC: Choose among the following strategies:

Quick strike: COM+MIG vs 50% Cause 10-60 casualties affected by your roll, so minimum is 10 casualties, 60 being max on a good roll.
Success of 40+ is considered perfect. 10% chance of capture success or failure.
Suicide run: MIG+CHA vs 50% Cause 25% casualties. Failure means chance at capture, 20%.
Fire attack: JUD+ING vs 30% Cause loss of 10% supplies and random 5-20 casualties. 10% injury for quest
Confusion: ING+CHA vs 30% Cause loss of 10% morale and random 5-20 desertion (they lose, you gain). 10% capture
Infiltrate: CHA+JUD vs 50% Simple chance to injure the leader. 10% chance of capture, can cause 5-10 points of stat loss, random.

Bei has a special mission which he doesn't share with the group as he departs alone.

Please give me choices my Monday

There's no such thing as a suicide run! Jade Falcon Zhang orders a Thunder Run.

"We are the Hammer of the Gods! We are Thunder, Wind and Rain! Stoop and Strike, my good grey hawks."

MIG 97, CHA 68
