Jiang Bao arrived at Shang Dang along. His 2 friends refuse to travel with him with what they think is a sucide attempt.

He arrived and handed his crossbow to the guards "I wish to gain audience with your lord, if that is possible. I am bringing a massage on behalf of his rival lord, Lord Liu. I act as a possible goodwill agent on behalf of both lords. Other than my crossbow, I carry no weapon."

As the winter months approached, the return of Qiao Lin to her home province of Wei was maneuvered with much speed - even moreso once she had finally gotten the letter sent to her from her best friend. The smirk of satisfaction had never really left her face once she had read the news, and the inklings of it still remained on her lips as she dressed herself to be presentable at a court of governance, just like any charismatic diplomat would.

Later on around mid-day, she would be seen approaching the gates of the complex, eying the flags that flew in the same sort of majestic yet mysterious allure that she had known Zhao Yue to command and harbor without effort. Approaching whoever was on duty, the lady bowed elegantly. "Tell the Prefect that his phoenix has returned to him, and search away if you need to," she said simply. The message itself would be enough for him to understand and know that it was her.

Ci Ha If the rumors are true, a group of rogue militia has already clash against Lord Zhao Yue at Chenxiang and another is currently aiming at the free city of Shou Yang to claim it as his own. Isn't it troubling?

Ci Ha paused.

Ci Ha Wouldn't it be a good benefit that both the army of Lord Zhao Yue and Lord Huang Zhao aid each others, if one of their city or town is attack by these rogue generals?

Ci Ha paused once more.

Ci Ha Lord Huang Zhao is offering to send troops to help to protect Lord Zhao Yue's city or town, if needed. In exchange, he wishes to know if Lord Zhao Yue will return the favor if needed.

This time, Ci Ha looked directly in the eyes of the man in front of him. Even if he lacks confidence in his diplomatic skills.
Zhao Yue raised a peculiar brow at this Ci Ha person, quite intrigued in how the man knew a little bit about Wei politics. Wei politics were in a class of its own, however, so he knew that this envoy's knowledge was one-dimensional, if anything. "Very well. Sending reinforcements if one of us is attacked. Is that all?" he asked with a bit of amusement in his tone.
Radical Dreamer wrote:Hua listened with feigned interest. Whether or not a regional lord could keep the people of Wei under his thumb wasn't really the noble's concern. "Yes, good help is difficult to find these days," the man stated as way of at least appearing to be listening.

"As to my lord's plans, my orders to secure northern Wei and create a united front with Changshan have been standing since early August. Only recently have I put together enough of a force to march on a town here; in a number months I should have enough men to attempt the city."

As if considering his options, the noble slightly tilted his head in thought. "While I am here, I could offer my and my troop's aid in holding your city. Although, my force is officially for supporting the King so any deficiencies would have to be compensated for. That, and I will not allow my attack schedule to be delayed. Perhaps, with another force looming over him, you can bring your troublesome competitor to the negotiating table."
"I don't negotiate," the Prefect said nonchalantly, picking at his robes in slight disinterest as he sat perched. "Either people conform to my will or they are dealt with accordingly. Therefore, the 'negotiating table' is virtually nonexistent in this situation. I am growing quite annoyed with all of the little twerps here in Wei who think they can be a force to be reckoned with just because of my previous achievements. Anyone who thinks they can match me in my own homeland have another thing coming to them," Laoxin said a bit sharply now. "Launching an offensive on these renegades will be in support of the King, seeing as how these men are in opposition to the land of Zhao."

Zhao Yue yawned and shifted in his seat some. "Take whatever towns you want. It will be necessary for us to continue to grow stronger if we are to succeed in our upcoming offenses." Inwardly, Laoxin was laughing away. For being a noble, this person surely didn't work quickly or efficiently enough.

The Prefect looked between the two leaders with a dumbfounded expression, chocolate eyes glistening mysteriously in the candlelight. Bemused by the 'insults' taking place between the two comrades, he simply pursed his lips and waited until the two were finished bickering. It was at this moment that he pondered regretting this decision to invite them to his own capital. No matter, everyone had their own quirks and Laoxin would just have to learn how to deal with them. After all, not everyone could be a carbon copy of the ideal general, so any variances had to be appreciated. A variety of personalities and styles could benefit him and his army in the future, after all. That is why a small smirk suddenly played at the corner of the young leader's lips.

"Enough of that. For your information, the Lord of Beidi will most likely become my ally for defensive reasons. Using him for our own protection will help us as we expand to the four corners of the province. As far as employment goes, I have the appropriate documents prepared for enlistment, but I won't be able to merge your troops into my own forces until next month after we... take care of the behavioral issues." The Prefect then quieted down, watching to see what would happen next.

"Well after we take your crossbow, you'll still have to go through the two mandatory searches. Agreed?" the captain said, now quite tired of asking for permission to search.

The guard captain nodded and brought out a female attendant to get the searches done quickly. After being guided past the bronze gates, the escort and Qiao Lin were engulfed by the darkness of the building entrance.

The entire first floor of the complex was dedicated to audiences, what with all of the suites for exalted officials located higher up in the building. The walls were like a maze, painted with dragons and symbols and all sorts of things, though sliding doors were hidden throughout where men and women alike conducted their daily business. Eventually, he was taken to the opposite side of the floor where he was motioned to remove his shoes, the doors then sliding open to reveal a large room with plenty of decor. The room was painted a golden hue, with small statues and intricately crafted antiques dotting the perimeter. Opposite the red rug in the center of the room was a raised platform equipped with two steps. Behind this platform was a draped tapestry that had a poem woven in, speaking of a new spring and the joys that are brought with it. The focus was not on this literature, however; it was on the man sitting crosslegged on his own floor mat on this platform.

"Lin," Laoxin said a bit sternly, even though his gaze was as soft as ever. "Good to see you around. Something you need?" he asked, though secretly he knew what the purpose of this visit was.

"Greeting. Could you please tell lord Zhao that a man named Yuan Rui would like to meet him in response to his invitation?"
"Of course," the tall and somewhat lanky guard captain said in a tenor tone. "But regardless, we have to perform mandatory searches in order to ensure safety in the capital. Do you consent to this?" he asked.
((Sorry for late reply!))

"Yes. I am consent for any search."

An hesitant Ci Ha replied to his host.

Ci Ha Maybe my honorable host, can explain to me the political point of view ofnthe Shang Dang administration about the situation in the province of Wei and the neighbouring provinces? Especially about these rogue militias who seems to have grow like bad weed in a field?

Ci Ha paused.

Ci Ha Or maybe my honorable host is too busy to inform an humble servant?

Rin twirled in a slow circle as she followed the Guard Captain through the Audience Hall. Her eyes darted from portrait to painting to statue to elaborately dressed official and she wished she could stay longer and see everything.

She padded along behind her escort to a large door she assumed to be the Prefect's chamber. The Guard seemed to motion something and it took her a few seconds to realize that she was supposed to take off her shoes. Rin smirked and shook her head, pointing to her already bare feet. Stepping inside she was surprised to find this room was even more exquisitely decorated than the last. Her eyes lingered for a moment on the wall scrolls before refocusing on the man sitting before her. He turned to her and spoke.

"Good day,"
Rin returned with a slightly deeper bow and felt giddy, this was the first time she'd been in the presence of a prefect. His next words confused her. "What can I help you with today, madame?"

"What can you help me with? didn't you send a letter to me?" She frowned and folded her arms, not sure how to reply. She'd come a long way to see the Prefect but that had been because she thought he'd wanted to see her. She didn't have anything she particularly needed help with.

Rin shook her head and put her hands on her hips. "I think we got it backwards. Let's do this again." Giving a long bow Rin stopped mid way through and looked up at Zhao Yue "I'm Sun Rin of Feiqui, what can I do for 'you' Prefect?"

The earlier messenger who was sent by Li Jin saw a more senior diplomat has arrived. He stepped aside and deferred to Jiang Bao, handing over the original diplomatic documents that remained sealed. After that is done, the messenger waited outside the city gates with his 2 guards for further instructions from Jiangbao.

OOC: JB will handle/RP this audience, this is to acknowledge that, since I do not have any offical OI threads yet.

Rui growled at Jin Zhen.

Pan Rui: Your dad's headless corpse couldn't decompose faster'n my dad's headless corpse. My dad's carcass could kick your dad's rotting butt from here to Changshan.

He turned his attention back to Zhao Yue.

Pan Rui: Nah, chief. It's no problem. Nothing personal against the guy in charge of Bei Di, I just didn't think he was the man for the job, so I elected myself. Anyway, didn't work out and now I'm here, so if you want to make nice with him, that's your call. Anyway, me'n little sister here'll put the boys in order and you can call us if you need someone set on fire or something, yeah?

"Oh yeah? Well, my dad's dead headless body has built in claws!" Zhen retorted, unwilling to admit defeat. "He's like snickity snickt and pow slash slish!"

She swung her arms around, as a demonstration how this thoroughly unlikely event would occur.

"Huh? Wait, you're gonna be friends with that guy in Bei Di?" she asked, glancing Zhao Yue's way. She shrugged a bit, as she said, "well, okay, but I'd watch my backside around him, if I was you. Just fair warning."

She then leaned over to whisper to Pan Rui, "maybe he likes that sort of thing."
